How can I unforget airport Time Capsule?

I was in the Airport utility and 'forgotten' my Time Capsule airport.  The most convenient airport seems to work very well, but I can see it is no longer in the graphical presentation.  How can I fix so that I see once more the airport?

Try a cycle of complete nutrition of the network as follows:

Power off all devices... modem, routers, computers, iPhones, printers, etc. in the order you want

Wait a minute

Start the modem and let it run alone for a few minutes

The device connected to the modem to start and keep running a minute

Keep the commissioning of the devices at once a minute outside until the entire network is back

Check if the airport appears now and communicate your results.

IF... the airport does not appear in the utility AirPort... are you still using OS X (10.7.4) on your Mac, you put in your profile, or you have updated to a more recent operating system?  If so, what system would be that?

  • How can I restore my time capsule documents folder?

I use an iMac OS X El Capitan and support up to a Time Capsule airport running.

One of our user accounts on the iMac ran into problems w access to the apple of the user ID (could not access iCloud preferences, etc.) before doing a clean reinstall of the OS X software, so I opted to try to remove the problematic user account (another account has no problems) and then configure a new user account. It seems (the jury is still pending on that) have toured and account is running normally.

My question now is to restore a subset of the records of the time Machine to the specific user. Is it possible and if yes, can you give me instructions on how to do?

    Thanks in advance.

Migration wizard does not have the granularity you need. It is simply not possible to choose more great lines.

So, you'll need to do it via the standard recovery... method that looks like you have never used.

This is the basic method of use Time Machine, you will need to learn how do.

TM open via icon in the dock. If this isn't in the dock it from applications.

All you have to do is open TM...

Go to the date when the user has always existed.

Now in the finder as the interface.

Go to the user that you want to restore... I suggest that you actually just take the folder of any user.

Sorry I can't take screenshots inside the TM... so if this is not clear look at a standard youtube video, of which there are hundreds.

It's the old version... but it is clear and well spoken.

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=6bcf54aRBPk

Restore now all the folder to somewhere else... maybe not even on your hard drive, but on a USB key or a convenient place.

Once the entire restored user to a location, you can then choose say all the documents in the documents folder and copy it directly to the new user that you created, file documents... same thing for music, even for photos etc... the actual application should always be connected libraries... which will make you within itunes or photos, etc..

I made an example using method pondini... just iphoto, but gives a good idea how do...

Cannot access old files on time capsule

If you want to just retrieve the documents folder say... Then, you can use the same method... Simply select the entire folder.

The permissions problems arise often... but once the files on your local disk, you can correct them.

  • How can I configure my Time Capsule (its predecessor) as an extension of WIFI network?

I have the previous model of the time Capsule and a new version and two MAC computers. I want to use the Capsule of ancient times to extend my WIFI network. I have a MAC with a new current version of time Capsule in the center of my house. I have a second MAC set up with an earlier version of a time Capsule in my office. I want to expand the network from the center of my home, further, beyond my office. Anyone know what I need to do? THX!

Place the old TC in the same room as each other.

    Do a factory reset.

Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

Open airport on the Mac utility and configure the old TC... it will automagically want to extend wireless.

Complete the installation, then move the TC to a suitable place where it picks up good signal from the main TC. There is no need to a position of bad signal... then place it where the speed is close to full... but then covers your current area of dark (wifi not light).

    Fact... Voila... easy as pie.

  • Can I connect airport time capsule on UPS?

I have a time capsule airport with 3TO.     Because of frequent failure, I want connect to UPS supply.   My UPS has a transfer time of 10 ms to transfer power on battery power during a power failure.     This glitch is acceptable for the time capsule.   I'm worried about the hard drive in the time capsule.

I've never had any problem at all with a UPS in 5 years with a time Capsule, and we have electricity here maybe 5 - 6 times per year due to thunderstorms.

  • How can I configure my Time Capsule wireless for backups

I recently changed the ADSL broadband cable. So it took to move my modem to the other side of the room where my cable connection. When I got the computer, modem, ADSL modem and the TC were a few feet from each other. However - now I have a wireless connection between my mac and the gateway Max Telstra modem and works very well. However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet. I can't the airport to recognize it as a base station and I think to be able to return to the company the automatic backups, I need to somehow get the TC identified as a base station. Would that be correct? I don't know if the yellow led indicates that the HARD drive in the unit has failed, but I begin to suspect this. Or - should I be plugging the TC on the modem and then try to have the computer to connect with the TC through the other side of the room?

There are two ways to deal with the problem.

However, the TC has a yellow light hard now and does not connect to the internet.

Amber hard... which means no flashing is a very bad sign.

Do a reset on the TC.

I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

Plug it into the Telstra modem and see if the front LED will turn to blinking orange.

If it remains solid amber a failed hard drive is the most likely cause...

Tell me what model it is... A1xxx of the base unless it is from the top.

Another suggestion is to purchase a 2.5 "1 TB or 2 TB drive self-powered. That plug into your iMac and use it for backups... It is faster, cheaper and more reliable than the replacement of the TC.

  • HOW THE AIRPORT TIME CAPSULE WIRELESS NETWORK IS PROTECTED?

I implemented the airport Time Capsule, using a DSL modem connected to the internet as its bridge.  MacBook Pro was used for initial set up by the bolt of lightning to Ethernet connector and then disconnected and works perfectly.  Now, I would like to use Wi - Fi for my Samsung phone not iOS.  On the Samsung wireless I connect to my home network using a password.  Well, I don't think that a password was never set.  How can I configure my wifi at home to establish a password?   I don't think that the modem settings should enter in solving this for me, but I'll add that the modem required a static IP address be entered for this connection when its router features have been disabled for the connection of bridge.

If the Time Capsule (TC) provides the wireless network, then you can secure it using AirPort Utility, as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the TC and then, select change.
    • Select the wireless tab.
    • In the wireless security, select the type of security. I highly recommend that you choose: WPA2 Personal
    • Enter a password in the field password wireless. Enter the same password in the verify password.
    • Select Update.

I bought an airport Time Capsule and a MacBook Air, have set up their, I access my files inside the airport TC, but I can't access the Web, away from home.

  • Can I use old time capsule for storage only with a new airport extreme (standard want latest HQ)?

I have a time Capsule elders (802.11n). I would like to know if I can still use this time Capsule only as a network storage device, if I decide to build my network with a new Airport Extreme (802.11ac). If I can do that, how would I set up the network to continue automatic backups with a router to update?

To do what you want, the new AirPort Extreme 802.11ac would be installed as the "main" network router The time Capsule would be connected to the AirPort Extreme, using a wired Ethernet cable connection, and the time Capsule should be configured to run in bridge with the service Mode Wireless off.

Any Mac you want to save in the time Capsule would need to have Time Machine preferences on each Mac adjusted to ensure that the time Capsule has been set as the target for backup.

If you decide to add the AirPort Extreme, post back for more information at this time, if you need installation instructions step by step.

  • How long backups stay them airport time capsule if I make my computers of restoration

I want to completely wipe my MacBook Pro and set it up as if new to it clear of files that I don't use often, but I want to keep these files on my Time Capsule airport.

Ive seen a lot of posts about how after a random time ATC (airport Time Capsule) automatically deletes files that are no longer on this computer that you backed up previously.

QUICK SUMMARY OF THE ISSUE: can I have factory restore my computer and leave my old files to my Time Capsule airport or do I have to connect an external drive to ATC?

    Thank you

    Firefox

Connect an external hard drive to your computer and put the files it contains. The files you want to keep should be at least two disks; You can fail at any time.

This can be done when the drive is connected to the time Capsule, but supported formats are more limited, and the process will be slower.
