How do I access the system Windows 8?

Hi, Ihave a xps8500 with windows 8, I am trying to enter setup, but I can not enter the installer, I hit f2 and it continues to go to windows 8 it does ' t enter the installer, I tried hitting f2 when I turn on the computer, but it does not work and I waired until I saw the Dell logo , but he still wouldn't implement it went straight into windows, my mouse and keyboard are the bluetooth connection.

Hi Bob,

Hope you don't mind that I edited your subject to make it more easy to find.

Yet another "feature" of Windows 8 is the difficulty of access to the system configuration. Here is the procedure.

Go to PC settings, general tab, scroll down, and under Advanced Startup, select Restart now. From the options which appear, select troubleshooting, and then on the UEFI firmware settings.

I think that F2 still works, but the moment is so delicate, you're going to lose a lot of time trying to do it this way.

    Hello

You can not access the system from the BIOS recovery.

F8 boot Options is your hope, but you say that they do not work

You need a Microsoft DVD to do a startup repair, or a restoration of the system, thanks to this Guide.

Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.

Unfortunately, you have to buy it.

  • How can I access the system tray when it is disabled on the public computers?

    Hi all

I'm trying to access the icons on the test system such as: 'Remove the device safely', but I also try to access the other icons that would show in the system tray icon on the taskbar, when I plug my USB key into a USB port. The problem is, the I use public computers are at the library, and they have the system tray and start menu disabled, so not even my flash drive icon will appear in the system tray when I plug. Is there a way to access the system tray via a software or something?
I did a search on google for answers before posting here, but so far without success. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

You will need to check with the individual computer as they have probably disabled
All methods of access to these functions, and the status bar for security reasons. Since that
is a major challenge for public networks, I bet they left without holes.

    I hope this helps.

  • Windows automatically restarts constantly, cannot access the system restore point, cannot access the computer in safe mode

    Hi all

For the not 24 hours I tried to access my computer in normal mode. When I turn on the pc, it says "configuration data 1 of 3 steps...". 0% complete"he never spent 0% and within seconds, it automatically restarts and starts again. It's so frustrating! I have a windows vista pc (purchased in ' 06). I can only access my desktop in SafeMode.

I tried to perform a system restore, but not like he says "recovery disk is not the restore point selected. What should I do? I tried to manually create a restore point, but cannot access the system and Maintenance, while in safe mode. I can't do anything but literally access the internet. How can I get Windows back to factory settings it is with these limited resources? I have a Dell reinstallation DVD.

I searched my programs and found that recently Windows automatically updated and downloaded "Microsoft Powerpoint Viewer" and "for 2007 Office system Compatibility Pack '. Now, I think it has something to do with it, because they were the most recent updates, before the pc crashed. But I also fear that it may be a virus, which has completely hijacked this PC. How am I supposed to get rid of a bug, if I can't even get the necessary antivirus?

Sorry for the ranting, but it's so stressful when my pc is completely down. Please, please please help me. Thank you in advance for reading this same!

    5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.

  • Pavilion dv4: Windows 7 does not start and I can't access the system with f11 recovery

I use a Pavilion dv4. Windows just crashed on a blue screen with a message about physical memory dump. Now when I start the computer it will just a black screen with a blinking cursor to the place when windows normally should start. I can not access the system with the f11 key recovery. I went in with the f2 key diagnostic mode. Diagnostic tests except for the battery test that failed, but shouldn't the laptop to be able to run without a battery if it is connected? And besides, if the problem was the battery, the laptop wouldn't be able to turn on at all, no?

I'm not about to spend all that money on a battery just to know that it is not the battery.

    Hello

If you have the 64 bit rescue CD, you would have received an error if it was bad.

Once you have all your data backup, try the following - which means that Windows has been installed on the C Partition.

Boot from the new rescue CD, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd

    Bootrec /fixmbr

    Bootrec /fixboot

Remove the rescue CD and try to restart now.

  • Latitude E6510 - how I manually access the Dell system recovery partition?

Latitude E6510 - how I manually access the Dell system recovery partition?

    Hi all

My Dell Latitude E6510 came with OEM Win 7 Pro x 64 installed. I am trying to perform a restore of the system to the factory setting.

I tried to access advanced without result Boot Options and pressing F12 during the boot process does not provide me with the option to repair and select the recovery partition, as if it is invisible. If I use the computer management > storage I do not see the hidden partition or if I do Diskpart it is listed.

How the BIOS or the system recognize it to boot from the recovery partition? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply but it appears not the solution you provided helped and I think you are incorrect since my original screenshot has allowed me to see the hidden partition, but I didn't know how to access it.

I got access once I used the app "diskpart" with commands like 'list readers', 'list volume' and 'assign volumes"to access the partition of the content.

Nevertheless, I have found that my recovery media is missing or damaged.

  • Can not access the system restore.

After the removal of a virus, no visible icons on desktop except Mcafee on the toolbar at the bottom.  Was able to access the internet by clicking on Mcafee and then update.  When you click Start the only visible program is Mcafee.  Cannot see the control panel or Windows help/support or anything else.  "Run" is not available.

Someone suggested that if I run the system restore, it could solve the problem.  But the problem is that I can't access it in the usual way.

    Hi Oishi Kuranosuke,

    ·         Are you able to access the system restore in safe mode?

    ·         You get the error message?

System Restore can bring back the virus.

    Follow these methods.

  • How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?

Original title: Old files Windows, Program Files, etc.

I tried to use before Disk Cleanup and it worked, and I haven't run a complete installation.

I'm having a problem now, this time, and I did a full install.  Disk Cleanup doesn't show any options to remove an old Windows as it did before.

How can I remove the old Windows folder to a different drive?  I also try to remove the Program Files folder, as well as with an implementation since.

It is showing an error message "I need to be in the Administrators group ~", and that TrustedInstaller is owner of the present.

I have a question that "TrustedInstaller" has full authority on the file system, and 'Administrators' has limited access.

I noticed that there are other three to make a total of four names of users who have all or nearly full access to the file system.

Can it be fixed... it's pretty annoying to see this continue..., strictly through Windows Update.

I look forward to your reply.
