How does the switchable graphics of AMD system?

You can have a portable computer that uses a switchable graphics Intel and AMD system and are curious about how it works or how to associate programs specifically with a record of high performance.

This document covers the card switchable graphics Intel/AMD and double AMD systems.  This provides the steps for manually assign programs via the Catalyst Control Center.  This document also describes the options for the fixed and dynamic mode.

I hope this information is useful to some.

    Hi Cristi,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

From your problem description, I understand that AMD does not work.

As you are referring to the "Switchable Graphics" in Amd catalyst control center and Amd is these software development so I suggest you to get in touch with Amd and check.

  • How to update the switchable graphics drivers and Dungeon 'switching' work?

    Hi guys,.

I recently installed the new drivers by AMD (v.13.1) on my laptop HP Pavilion dv6-3060ej (Windows 7 64-bit), which uses the Intel HD Graphics and AMD Radeon HD5650 switchable graphics.

The fact is that I met a few rendering problems on the latest 12.6 which supported my graphics and allowed soft switching between them. Version 13.1 solved my problems of rendering, but another question - it simply does not recognize my graphics card so that it installs only some of its features and leave the Catalyst Control Center features so I can't pass my graphics cards. I even tried to leave the latest CCC, but it comes with an error message.

To summarize, my strongest Radeon HD5650 graphics card works well but I cannot switch to the Intel's HD to save the life of the battery.

Any thoughts? Thanks a lot for your help

Hello IBINATOR.  I appreciate that you try to upgrade your Radeon (with drivers AMD) graphics while keeping the switchable graphics in a working state.  Is this correct?

This is workaround only to your question and you must have the game, Steam client, installed.  The HP driver for your graphics card contains a driver for the card from AMD, the Intel card and switchable graphics framework.  You can then use the game client, steam (through a partnership with AMD), to update the part switchable graphics system AMD while keeping graphics intact.

    1. Remove your current AMD drivers using this utility and restart your laptop.
    2. Download the latest version of the drivers from HP.  Here is a link.
    3. Install the driver and reboot again.
    4. Follow the steps in this thread to use steam to update the graphics driver.
    5. Restart one last time and check if the problem is resolved.

Let me know the result.  In addition, have a wonderful day!

  • Product number: XW898AV: sp54471 - does not meet the minimum requirements (trying to recover the switchable graphics)

I accidentally lost my switchable graphic trying to update using drivers directly from AMD.  I have no more restore HP Manager.  I tried to download HP sp54471.exe, but every time I try to install it, it says that I do not meet the minimum requirements.  I tried to use the Help Assistant tool as well, but it also gives the same error.  When you try to use only the tool to search for updates, it does not include anything for the graphics.

    Hello:

    You must use this driver...

This package provides the AMD graphics driver high definition (HD) and Catalyst Control Center for models of laptop computers that are running an operating system supported. For laptops equipped with switchable graphics modes, this package contains the drivers for the two graphics (GPU). Switchable graphics allow users to switch between a graphical power mode (normally used under the power of the battery) and a mode of graphics performance. If the video output high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) is supported, this package also installs the HDMI Audio Driver.

    File name: sp55092.exe

You will never be able to update the switchable graphics driver, so after getting things working again with this driver, you will need to leave well enough alone.

  • I have upgraded to Windows 8. How can I get the switchable graphics to work?

Windows 8 was released a little over a month and several users have had the desire to upgrade their laptop for Windows 8.

However, the laptop doesn't have any Windows 8 at HP software, because it is not yet approved for Windows 8.

This usually results in video cards being turned on so only used Intel graphics card.  Some symptoms of this is the laptop is running more hot than usual and the battery life is significantly short due to these two cards being fed at the same time.

This isn't an official solution to this problem, but it worked for me and others.

    1. install the HP software framework found here.

Credit for finding this link goes to CherylG.

    2. then, uninstall all ATI/AMD software through programs and features.

    3. go to www.hp.com and select Support and drivers at the top.

    4. Select software downloads and the pilot, then enter your product model or product number.

    5. Select the most recent operating system corresponding to your installation of Windows 8 bit architecture.  For example, Windows 7 64 bit for 64-bit Windows 8.

6 download the ATI graphics card driver.

    7. run the file once it is finished downloading.

    8. let the finished extraction process, but cancel the installation when you are prompted to continue after extraction.  Note where this is extracted to.  By default, this should be c:\swsetup\.

    9. here, there should be a setup.exe to install the ATI driver.  Right-click it and select troubleshoot compatibility.

10 follow the troulbeshooter of compatibility and select the suggested fixes.  On one screen, there will be a button of test program.  Click here to begin the installation.

    11. follow the installation and it must successfully complete.

    12. Once completed, right click on the desktop to check that configures it with the switchable graphics option is listed.

Once this done, switchable graphics should work fine on most systems.  This translates into reduced heat and charge the battery lasting longer.

While this may not work for everyone, he worked for many users.

    I hope this helps.

  • How does the licensing of user/activation/cloud system affect me?

With the old system to buy and use, upgrade when you can afford , the license has been clear that you could install 2 copies of the software on different machines, offering only 1 has been used both.

How does the cloud with activation and users now?

I am a 1-man-band design agency and would like to be able to work on my main desktop machine, while in office, but also on my laptop when out and about. Can elaborate you on how the cloud will work in my scenario? I hope that "Insert here a deity" it because otherwise I just put myself out of mobile business! Laughing out loud

Also every time a machine dies horribly, it does from time to time, how the cloud will deal with a new installation on a new computer - will I have old TELEPHONE painful activation of a guy trying to figure out why I installed the number of copies 3 or he as magically remember me and my preferences and make something as done steam? See below for users of steam:

With systems simlilar and steam (for games), you can log into your account and download and use the software on any machine (provide your connection) and any platform (mac, pc, ps3) which is a brilliant choice. You cannot dodge the system either because the minute you "login" elsewhere, the other account is essentially disabled. I could travel in Australia, using my friends Mac and 20 minutes to continue playing a game at home, I was playing in the United Kingdom on a PC. I have no fear of him using the account that I don't tell him how to connect and do not save my details. As soon as I connect to the House once again, his machine is disconnected and disabled even if I left it on. Its simple, but it works brilliantly. It records the cloud or individual preferences preferences too (in case say, its screen is a lower resolution, etc.)

That's how works the creative cloud - if he shouldn't! IDEA...

I have a mac and PC at work - how bright would it be to have only 1 subscription on any platform (if only I stick to the 1 user at the right time)

If the user login is crucial, I could use any machine or platform at any time - cloud of real work, real cross-platform.

The licensing Creative Cloud membership is more less the same as before, all computers (Windows or Mac).

If you had a system that crashed, and that you do not clear, what happens when you go to install on a new computer is it would give you an option to 'disable all' (there is a new option). After that, you can reactivate just on two computers, you want it again.

The software does not support mobile licenses, you can always turn off using the help > "disable" feature. Being able to license on different machines based on a mobile log-in is something that others have suggested as well (good idea), but is not currently supported.

You can install on your Mac and PC, however, the subscription is not platform specific.

  • How does the trash?

    OT: Trash.

    How does the trash?

It seems to be a "sandbox", but a reference to the storage space on each disk.

I can't find a real situation for the trash

If I delete a file from the c: drive or the drive e: is the deleted file stored in a different location or the renamed file right on the disc it came? (don't forget the BACK a deleted.doc file was just renamed $eleted.doc)

    Thank you

In Windows 7, the trash is a named hidden system folder $Recycle.Bin.  There is a file with that name in the root of each of your partitions (e.g., C:\$Recycle.bin, D:\$Recycle.bin, etc.).  Within each of these folders are folders for each user in use on the machine account (there may be additional folders).

When you double-click on the icon to the trash that is displayed on your desktop that opens is a composite of all files $Recycle.bin for the user account that is active.  In other words, you see the files you deleted all partitions of disk, but you will not see the deleted files of another user of your computer.

If you right-click on the Recycle Bin icon, you can configure the space used for the $Recycle.Bin records on each partition.  The default size appears in about 10 percent of the first 40 GB on the size of the partition more than 5% of the balance.  As a general rule, you should leave the default size.

See http://www.csee.umbc.edu/courses/undergraduate/FYS102D/Recycle.Bin.Forensics.for.Windows7.and.Windows.Vista.pdf for more details than you probably want to

  • How does the license for CS6?

Looking to start learning about website coding, and I've heard a lot of Dreamweaver.  I'm not subscribe through CC, I'm looking to buy a license for life CS6 outright.

But how does the license work?  If I have to reinstall my OS because my hard drive dies, I can reinstall DW using the same product key?  Is it related to my Adobe account, which means that I have to log in to activate it?

Any help would be appreciated, live chat is down so I thought it would be the next best place.

If you are unable to disable advance, you can contact Adobe customer for help.  But as I said, you can install up to 2 devices.  I think if you try to install on a 3rd device, your other 2 get automatically turned off.  So even if you need to format C, you will always be able to get up and running quickly.

Is meant by perpetual license "to use for as long as your operating system can run it."   CS6 is almost 3 years old and is no longer updated.  It is what it is.  Currently, 4 versions of the currently available version of creative cloud.

  • How does the virtual machine BACK to Windows?

How does the NTVDM?  I run an old DOS program written in Fortran 77, which, with the exception of the database has not changed in 20 years.  It takes about 2 hours to start a business.  My boss told me that I can get a better computer.  Upgrading my computer 3 GB RAM maximum 4 GB will make a difference.  When I use the MEM command, I thought that the memory in use is what I take BACK used, approximately 1 MB.  Am I missing something?  More RAM can help?  Help a different CPU architecture?   The little knowledge by going to various sites, I have gained seems to tell me that dual core or quad processors are unnecessary because BACK is a single processor and use it exclusively.  How about a faster chip.  Is there a limit to the speed that is finished on the BACK.  Then addresses NTVDM maybe all these problems Unlike DOS itself.

    Thanks for your help

  • How does the online Flash Player Settings Manager?

That's one thing, I've always been curious to know: How does the Flash Player Settings Manager ?

It's a UI SWF running in a regular reader of Flash, but there obviously access to all kinds of Flash Player settings low level, a typical SWF is not.

My first guess is that the user interface is in fact built into Flash Player, but then why would you go to visit a website to see? The SWF file is actually be served by the site Web and Flash Player's trust to the Web site to access a low level player not made public API?

As a Flash developer for many years I've just been curious about this for a long time. Now that the Manager is obsolete by the construction in the settings (which is a lot less mysterious) Manager, I thought I would ask before it is completely forgotten.

    -Aaron

Yes, the SWF is imbued with special powers, which are linked to the domain that sovereign wealth funds are served from.  The settings are basically just special LSO.

  • How does the task before action?

    VSM 9.1.4

    MSSQL

Hi guys! How does the special action forward in rules CBT works?

In this scenario, where the dependent task will go if it is enabled by the CBT?

    1. Task Implementatation is initially assigned to GroupX
    2. CBT rules:
      • If the request Type TypeA, proceed to task, set state of StatusA demand and send the task to the GroupA
      • If the request Type is TypeB, go to the task of technical approval, the Request Status StatusB value and prior approval of the Group b

    test.PNG

When I tried to simulate this, the task of implementation was not sent to GroupA when the request Type TypeA. Instead, he was sent to the assigned group GroupX. Checked the CBT story and it seems that the rules that has task until the action was never carried out.

Yes, that's all. I think now I know why it works the way you expect.

I think that if TCC happens to any rule that meet its criteria of condition, it does not check any other rules in addition.

So you specify different rules for different conditions, but not for different actions.

And several actions (for example the Request Status value and before the task) can be combined into a single action like this:

    Hello

Suppose we have an Esxi host with 2 physical network card and a virtual machine running on it. without grouping of NETWORK cards NIC is chosen to forward traffic outside the Esxi?

If you don't want to use the pool (for some reason any) then creating vSwitches with only a single uplink or create multiple groups of ports on a vSwitch with multiple uplinks and override the order of failover on each port group to set vmnic active, standby and unused.
