Hello

As far as I know that booting from USB stick or HARD drive is not supported by the BIOS for this series of mobile.
As far as I know you can boot from the HARD, ODD, LAN and USB FDD (floppy) disk, but I think that you can not boot from USB HDD.

See you soon

  • How can I boot from the Windows 7 Installation CD so that I can reformat the hard drive before reinstalling Windows 7?

How can I boot from the Windows 7 Installation CD so that I can reformat the hard drive before reinstalling Windows 7?  I have already reinstalled Windows 7 from the CD, but that has not solved my problems.  When I put the factory CD in my CD player, it won't always boot from the CD.  When I put my Windows 7 Ultimate CD in the CD drive, it doesn't always start from the CD.         I realize that the reformatting is not always necessary, but I caught a few viruses (despite anti-virus running) and I need to start with a clean hard drive.

You must go into the BIOS and change the boot on CD order
    first push.

How to get into your BIOS? It is not dependent on Windows, but on what he
motherboard/BIOS card that you have. In fact, you need access to the
BIOS before Windows begins to start. A common method is to press
the key delete when you turn on first, but this is not necessarily true
    for your computer. Watch the display carefully when you start first;
There is often a message here to tell you what to do. If this is not the case, check
your system documentation or check with your provider.

  • How to make a visible USB hard disk for a virtual machine on ESXI 4.1?

    Hi all

As I am new to the world of vmware ESXI, I always make mistakes or I don't undertand all therefore be complete :-).

So I have a HP Proliant ML 350 G6 Server installed with ESXI 4.1 and I want to connect a USB hard disk to a virtual machine (SBS 2K 8). Currently, the virtual machine is not able to see the hard drive.

I already add a USB controller to the virtual machine, but my USB HARD drive is still not visible to my virtual machine.

    Can you help on that?

    Thank you

    Michael

Next, add a USB device to the virtual computer (in the change settings tab), there are different things, USB controller and USB devices. Sometimes, you may have to restart the virtual machine.

  • Problem with external HARD disk - cannot mount the mac partition and can't unmount the partition windows

    Hi all

Need your help. I have problems with my external hard drive. I worked on it yesterday when the cable is a little detached and disassembled my intestinal HARD drive.

    Here are the specs:

1 Macbook Air 11.5 "running on El Capitan (10.11.1)

2 Buffalo Ministation external (1 TB) HARD disk divided into two: a Mac partition (for time machine) and the other a windows on FAT32 partition.

Before the accident yesterday, it was working OK.

Now, when I connect the HARD drive, it turns on but the Mac partition cannot be mounted (it does not appear on the Finder. I opened disk utility... just load forever and does not work) and the Windows partition is visible... but I can't take it apart without turning my computer.

I can assemble and disassemble a USB stick very well.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

Maybe you can explain a little better.

I would like to make some general comments before having your replay.

It is not wise to use TM on a disk with apple unformatted or partitions, it is preferable to have a dedicated TM drive also.

For TM, the rule is that the drive is about 3 times the size of the boot disk.

Normally you 'survive' a good step disassemble the drive external, but in this case with a another partition formatted on this subject, I'm not sure if that do not corrupt the disk, especially since the Windows partition is bootable. I have suspct the partition GUID on the TM partition table is corrupt.

I propose to start the disk completely: in DiskUtility select the 'higher' level (name of manufacturer) and the Partition, one OS X Extended (journaled) partition table Partition GUID. And use it only for TM, is not too big for this.

Have another drive formatted NTFS for Windows.

  • Hard disk failed to keep windows 7 for the new hard drive or SSD

Hi, windows told me recently there is a problem with my hard drive and that I would back up my data to an external storage device, in case it fails, but don't want to backup my files because they aren't important. When I tried to access file Explorer the next day I got the warning my computer froze. I'm not him have not restarted the laptop since then in fear that it could make it more worn, since I may still need it.

I try to order a new hard drive or SSD and won't buy windows 10 because it's expensive. Instead, I want to keep my current operating system, which is windows 7 Home premium, which is preinstalled on my laptop.  I have no recovery disks and I didn't do all the backups at all, but here is a windows 7 product key stuck on the back of the laptop.

I was wondering if I can use the product key to install windows 7 on the new HDD/SSD and if yes, how, I would go to this topic. Also, if I can't do the wrench is it another way (because I may be able to use it yet), because I don't want to have to buy any other OS.

    Specifications:

    Laptop: TOSHIBA Satellite A660

    OS: Windows 7 Home Premium

(Let me know if you need more details)

    Thanks for any help.

If you are still able to boot from the Windows 7 Desktop on the current hard drive, try to create a set of recovery disks. See the instructions in the following article:

    https://NeoSmart.NET/wiki/Toshiba-Recovery-disk/#Create_disc_for_Windows_7

After you create the defined recovery disc, close, install the new SSD, then use the updated recovery disk to reinstall Windows 7 on new disk SSD.

You will need 4 blank DVDs.

After the restart after that the most recent windows update, my computer dell laptop began to consume 100% of its memory, and then eating my hard disk activity, causing the light becomes solid. The computer is severely slow, I checked for viruses, malware, and registry errors with no chance to address the issue. The computer is a memory dump, but I could so he could properly start without doing a memory dump, it becomes all just slow and unresposive at the simplest of tasks. Any ideas of what it could be? What to check? How to fix?

  • Is there a way to increase the size of the virtual hard disk? in the VM? ESXI 4.1

    HelloW to all.

I created VM with the size of the hard drive of 80 GB and now I want to increase the size of the 80 GB to 150 GB drive does not add whit extra 70 GB partition but to increase the patitionn of 80 GB.

Is there a way to increase the size of 150 GB of the virtual hard disk? in the VM? ESXI 4.1

    Thanks in advance.

If the guest operating system is windows, then follow below process-

Scenario-1 his drive is not the boot partition.

    1. click on the settings of the virtual machine

    2. Select the hard drive to increase and give the size you want (don't forget that you should have a free space available on the data store).

    3. go to disk to the virtual machine management, and then rescan disk (you will see the unused space)

    4. open the cmd/command prompt, then run diskpart by using the diskpart command

5 then... the drive... After this list give the command "select disk 1" (1 is the disk you want to expand)

    6. After selecting the disk, type extend (extend order will extend the drive)

    7. exit diskpart.

Scenario-2 If the drive is the boot partition.

    1. power of the virtual machine. (go on change settings of ==> click on the drive you want to extend ==> copy the path of the disc)

    2. go to any other test VM and add disk--> disk existing use ==> give the drive path that you want to extend ==> Assistant to finish.

    3. Select the hard drive to increase and give the size you want (don't forget that you should have a free space available on the data store).

    4. select disk of the virtual machine management, and then rescan disk (you will see the unused space)

    5. open / cmd command prompt, then run diskpart by using the diskpart command

    6. then... the drive... After this list give the command "select disk 1" (1 is the disk you want to expand)

    7. After selecting the disk, type extend (extend order will extend the drive)

    8 exit diskpart.

    9. go to change the setting of this test VM and select the hard drive... ==> click on remove virtual machine. (do not drive delete)

  • I can't and never been able to open a file that was previously saved on hard disk by selecting the print option to get in the print dialog box

I can not and never been able to open a file that was previously saved on hard disk by selecting the print option to get in the print dialog box. Firefox displays gooblygook, even if the name of file is an html element, the Notepad of Windows crashes, MS Excel does not recognize the file type. MS Word also displays goobblys when the file has no file extension.

If you use the file printing, then you will get a file that is supposed to be sent to a printer, and this file has any sort of code formatting for this printer.

Open such a file in Firefox or a text editor can only work if you use one printer for text to print the file to, then make sure that such a printer is installed and selected.

This bios does not support changing the parameters of the hard disk for example SATA to IDE?
    BIOS version is: 5.6

AFAIK in BOS advanced settings you can change mode SATA controller only. You can use the AHCI mode or compatibility.

I put t understand why do you think you can use IDE mode. What you want to do exactly?

I received by e-mail a file which I can not open... so I downloaded the Microsoft compatibility pack. He asks me to double click the File Format Converter.exe file on my hard disk to start the Setup program.  I'm not savvy and don't know where to find it!  Your help will be admired.  BF

Hello, I downloaded myself today and when I read your question, I went looking for him.

The only place where I found it was prefetch.

However, I was able to view the file after downloading.

When I download I always save it to the desktop, then the scanner and then double-click it to install. If you haven't noticed where it was installed, check your temp folder.

Or download it again and save it to the desktop.

    I hope this helps.

  • Changed the original after imaging HARD disk but can get Windows 7 valid

A SONY VIAO bought in 2010 with a 500 GB hard drive. Started to get those bad guys, messages "imminent HARD drive failure" has created an image using Acronys on a new hard drive of 1 t and traded in. Everything went well until I started getting messages "your computer is not running genuine Windows" (rror code 0xc8000247).  Did all the research, including the call the MS Product Activation Center and the robo-man to give the key that came. Robo-man returned and says invalid key, back to the drawing board (buy W7 for $108, backup all data and programs, install and rebuild the contents of the hard drive). SONY said that they would not help me because I had replaced the hard disk provided with the system. Even though it was about to fail, I should put it back in and call to hide...

So now what should I do?  I have the product key (from the label under the system), the Windows ID of the information system...

The common cause for these mismatches is a defective Intel Rapid Storage Tech driver

Download and install the latest version of...
