How many things should run at startup

"How many programs is supposed to be running, max at startup" I read in a report from tech somewhere there must be between 15 and 75. I have 98.

I think it might make my CPU sometimes running at 98%.  How do I know which files I can close?

Or even a single application slows down my system?  I have McAffee, Spybot, AdAware and Norton on my computer. Is this wrong?

Numbers like that are meaningless. There is no 'max', and there isn't any 'should '.

Despite what many people say to you, you should be concerned, not withhow * much * of these programs you run, but * that *. Some of them can seriously affect the performance, but others have no effect on performance.

Don't stop all programs to run willy-nilly. You should have to determine what each program is that its value is for you and what the performance cost is running all the time. You can getmore to information on these to http://www.processlibrary.com/. If you don't find it there, try the research and ask questions about the details here.

Once you have this information, you can make a smart informed decision on what you want to keep and what you want to get rid of.

But you're talking about programs or processes? 98 is an enormousnumber, if you talk about programs. But even for the process, there is no max.

  • How many processes should be running?

I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but I was wondering how many processes should be running on my computer.  It is a fairly new computer.

In addition, in the first minutes of the computer couple upward the number of process initializing increase without me open all programs.  Is this normal or not?  It can be normal and I had just paid attention to before.

    Thank you.

  • How many processes should normally turn my vista computer?

    Original title: vista-based computer

How many processes should normally run my vista computer.

How many processes should normally run my vista computer.

There is no overall normal - normal only for * you * and * your * system.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

  • I scanned my computer yesterday, today, he said: I've not scanned in awhile and my computer is in danger. How many times should I search?

How many times should I scan my computer?

    Hello

Please go to the Microsoft Community Forums.
Description of the question, we understand that the virus scan is not recognized by the anti-virus software.
Let me go ahead and help you with the issue.

Please answer these questions, which will help us to help you best.
    1. which Antivirus software is installed on the computer?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

I want to tell you that you should scan your computer for viruses with an antivirus up-to-date product at least once a week. If you access the Internet very often, you must scan your computer regularly. Most antivirus products are able to automate the analyses at regular intervals.

Also, I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the anti-virus program and check if it helps.
    Check out the link:
How to uninstall antivirus or antispyware programs?
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/how-do-i-uninstall-antivirus-or-antispyware-programs
Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats.
In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I hope this helps. If you have any other queries/issues related to Windows, write us and we will be happy to help you further.

  • Slow start - too many programs that run at startup

Said convenience store startup is slow because my computer is programmed to run at startup programs that slow it down.  What programs can I I disable it in safe, and one time off, how, when, and where can I re - turn them on?  p.s. I'm almost completely computer illiterate.

    Hello

You can use these to control which startup programs. Many who install it themselves in
Startup is really useless to be here. As Acrobat Reader (Adobe), WinAmp Agent,.
and many other who are responsible for pieces themselves start more quickly (not a question on today)

  • How many times should I stop my MacBook Air

I have a MacBook Air (early 2014), with a processor i5 and 4 GB of RAM. It will be 2 years from November 2016. Summer's going hard for me for a while now and works very well without any problems. I use applications like Final Cut, Motion 5 and Xcode and I am satisfied with the performance of such a light machine.

Apart from the information on my Mac, I have a question about proper use to optimize the performance and life of it. How many times have I stopped him? I use my Mac a day should I allow to sleep when I do not use as it has little effect on the battery and allows me to pick up where I left off. Should I only stopped when loading or is it okay to sleep by loading too? Should I stopped him every month or so or just during the software updates as I prefer to leave is majority of sleep of the time it won't have a long amount of time without me using it.

    Thank you.

If you do not meet the pigs of RAM, there is really no reason to close it. If you don't see the warnings of memory, a simple reboot menu Apple fade issue.

  • How many lines should be present?

    Hello

I'm figuring how many replicas that I should have in my given scenario.

We have more that we should, and I'm going to need to clean (VMware KB: finding and removing unused virtual machines replica in the Horizon of VMware View), but before I do I wanted to understand how we expected to have.

I have 4 pools and 4 data warehouses.

All the 4 pools are distributed in all 4 data stores.

2 swimming pools use a snapshot called "A snapshot."

2 swimming pools use a snapshot called 'instant B.

    o: we would have:

    • 8 lines altogether (2 replicas by datastore - a to A and b on each data store) or
    • 16 aftershocks in total (1 replica per pool per datastore)?

I thought he was the last (16) given that the hardware settings (i.e. 3D Graphics Settings) may be different for each pool (although in our scenario, they must be the same) and apply to the replica, but wasn't sure.

View 6.1 related automated clone pools.

    Thank you

You use a data store replica in the settings of the pool.  If yes you would have, I believe, 2 replicas with one for each unique snapshot.   If this isn't the case, I think you would have 8 which would be 1 for every single snapshot to each data store.

I'm french too, so don't be afraid of my mistakes 'no more! '

I have a Toshiba Satellite P 300, and I want to create a recovery DVD.
How many DVDs to 4.7 GB / by, if I prepaire for this creation?

    Thank you
    in fact, I have a Toshiba P300-22F,
There is a hard drive failure, because I changed the C: partition size
I have to restore the player to factory default state using the recovery DVD,
but I don't create this DVD.

    One of my friends has a model Toshiba P300 - 1 5.
so I try to create this DVD form his computer...

    Hello

At first I want to give you advice on DVD, you must use. For a successful recovery creation DVD use DVD-R virgins. I created several media recovery on the models of different laptops, with DVD-R media always worked.

On the market there are several portable Satellite and Satellite Pro P300 and image is not the same for each of them.
    Just for info:
-Satellite P300-1GL I needed a blank media only, but
-for Satellite Pro P300-149 I needed two of them

So I think that you need one. When you start 'Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator' and choose the media you want to use it, you will be informed how many of them do you need.

  • How many counters should I use at the same time?

    I have the cDAQ-9172 and 9411.

There is the specification of 9411, 6DI 9411 channels.

    The NOR-DAQmx help tell

Note  Terminal PFI are available when the unit is installed in the location of a chassis OR cDAQ-9172 or Groove 5 6.

So, I don't know if this means 9172 has 2 meters can be used simultaneously.

My question is 9411 6DI channels, it can be used as counters simultaneously?

I have more device 2 generate frequencies that must be acquired.

I hope someone here can help me or give me a hint.

    QIA

    Hi, QIA.

The cDAQ-9172 has 2 counters that can be used simultaneously, and you are right that install your NI 9411 in slot 5 or 6 slot will allow you to access these counters.  6 DI lines on your 9411 may be used to access the entries to each meter.

I do not know if you say you have more than 2 signals to measure the frequency on. If this is the case, after a little more info about your application (how times do you need to read the frequency?  How many channels?) and we can try to find a good solution.

    Kind regards

  • When I run the Defragmenter I end up with large blocks of fragmented files that will not move much matter how many times I run.

The report telling me I need to defragment this volume.  Total of 20% of fragmentation, 41% free space fragmentation 0% file fragmentation.  The last time I've run the defragmentation tool I don't remember this existing problem.  I think I would have noticed these large areas of red and he questioned.  It was about six weeks ago.  My computer worked more slow and sometimes simply hanging.  I downloaded Firefox a few weeks ago, but slowdown problems existed before this and I have not downloaded anything else except a program to deal with DOCX. files that do not seem to help me so I got rid of him. That's four months ago or not.  I ran so many tests I can think... hard drive check... cleaning disc etc...  I don't know how I got in this mess, nor how to correct.  I seems to me just that I close up with a disk full of files that are fragmented if I can't find a solution.  Any help would be appreciated more with gratitude.

    Please answer the following questions:

    1. What is the size of your hard drive (C :) and the amount of free space is left? (Open my computer, right-click on the icon for drive Local (c), select properties and declare what you see in the 'Général' tab for the used space and free space.)
    2. Even if you have the properties of the State open, (c) if the box down to "Allow the Indexing Service to index this disk for fast searching of files" is checked or unchecked.
    3. Right click on desktop, select Properties, and select the tab "system restore."  Is the drive (C :) followed by the system restore?  Assuming that the answer is 'Yes', make sure the drive (C :) is selected and click on the 'Settings' button.  What is reported as the amount of used disk space?  For now, simply "Cancel" your way out of these settings screens.
    4. You use integrated Windows XP Disk Defragmenter or are you a 3rd - party for this program?
    5. What version of XP, including the service pack is installed?
    6. What do you use to apply antivirus (include the version) and your membership is up-to-date?
    7. Have you scanned your system recently with MalwareBytes Anti-Malware or SUPERAntiSpyware?
  • How many times should I empty the cache memory?

I had problems with various Web sites and on other users advice made a full cache clear. I noticed an immediate improvement in the speed of loading pages. Do you have this help and if yes how often should I clean the cache? It is 420MB.

    Thank you

I don't see how that can possibly be associated with the cache. The cache contains files from Web sites, such as images, scripts and style sheets. So when you visit a page you have already visited, you do not need to download everything again. The cache allows the pages to load faster, not slower.

The cache is a fixed size, as well as the files are automatically deleted as new ones are cached. Unless you have to have some sort of issue as Web sites to research wrong, there is no need to delete it manually.

  • How many things

How "stuff" can you put in a multi-doc work plan before you have to worry it's too? I want to create a collection of groups of icons I created and also buy for work. These groups - 10 to 100 + icons, in time will be hundreds! I believe (?), you can have up to 100 work plans. Is it reasonable to think that a document with a lot of "stuff" that it will not corrupt himself? Any suggestions as to the smarter way to create this kind of library / document? And 1 last detail. I want to make the vertical document as a 100-page tabloid. Any problem here? & I use AI CS6. Thank you very much!

Several variables can affect the complexity you can make your document before the document is slowing. Here are a few tips.

    • Brings together rather than incorporated into the images
    • You will have many policies, might be preferable to outline if you don't need editablity
    • Try not to use bitmap effects
    • Erase all your pallets of unused colors, symbols, brushes, graphic style

If, during this project, you notice a slowdown, then you got a plan B and to 10 documents of 10 boards of art for example.

Since you mentioned icons which is a great sign, you won't much trouble I guess you won't images, bitmap or font effects even.

Find an icon among 100 pages can take a long time. If you can organize them by topic that would be useful, and you can look into the creation of symbol libraries instead.

  • Adding RAM to an HP Z800 - how many slots should I use?

I'm about to add more RAM to an HP Z800. The computer has 12 memory slots. Today, I have 12 x 2 GB RAM modules, IE 24 GB of RAM. The processors are 2 x Intel X 5670 (processor-core/6). I have the BIOS version 3.21.

I want to upgrade to 48GB of RAM and wonder if I should buy 6 @ 8 GB memory strips or fill all 12 slots with 4 GB modules. Both options give me 48GB of RAM. So the question is if I lose any performance using only 6 of the 12 sites of memory and if so about how much? What is the pros and cons with the help of 12 locations compared to the use of only 6 sites while leaving 6 unused when fill a system with the same amount of RAM?

    Intend to purchase Kingston memory, 2 x KTH-PL313K3 / 24G or 4 x KTH-PL313SK3 / 12G.

    Any useful response is appreciated!

    / Roger

    Roger,

Because the price is not the issue here, they are substantially the same, I would look in the documentation for the HP. Should I use mode memory channel single, double or triple with 6 or 12 slots populated? With 12 slots, you are sure to use the memory in triple mode, with 6 I don't know, but with only 6 slots populated, you have opportunities for expansion in the future.

There is a definite advantage in the use of 48 more than 24 GB, but is it wise to invest in this memory with your specific mobo and CPU, or wait for the SB-E as an alternative with 32/64 GB of memory, although at much higher prices but with OC-ability, you must decide which.
