I tried too much time go by restarting and pressing f8, but this recovery option does not lead me to go and get my windows to the State facoty. As far as I know, I think that the hard drive has been reformatted after installation and deleted as a result options of backup or restoration, and if this is the case how can I restore my Windows file system and recover my windows in the back.

Hello!

I think for the moment that you are not able to restore your previous version of Windows or you created the before recovery disk?

I put t know what phone you have but all Toshiba notebook, they will be delivered with Vista without a recovery disk, but you can create one yourself. After you start the laptop the first time, you get the following message:
+ Important INFORMATION +.

+ your system is equipped with a hard drive recovery system. If you need repair.
+ your computer in the restaurant to original factory State, you can do it directly.
+ HDD (press F8 when you start your computer, choose "Repair your computer" +)
+ and follow the instructions in the menu) or create a media drive bootable recovery to that end. +.

+ Toshiba recommends you create recovery disk medium uses the "Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator' to ensure the +.
+ Hat you are able to restore your computer to the State of origin, installed at the factory, even if your computer +.
+ Gets severely damaged.

But now it s late to create the recovery disk and use the disk recovery HARD works, you must run the factory settings. This means that you can install your own version of Windows and then you start the drive HARD Toshiba Recovery function.

Sorry mate, but the only way I see at the moment is to order a new drive Toshiba Recovery directly:
https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

If you have the recovery disk, you can restore your Windows version or let's say the factory settings.

Good bye

I suggest you make a set of HP recovery disks or USB recovery media before deleting access recovery.

Deactiviating Recovery Manager is too easy.

    Remove the recovery partition.

Are you sure you want to do this? Activation, it is much more difficult.

I hope that you advise your friend aware of the consequences of the removal of the partition.

Why not run a live version of Linux Mint from a USB key instead?

    Hello

After installing another OS, you can retrieve only Vista if you start from the Toshiba Recovery disk and install the content. There is no disk HARD recovery option more, it means that the HARD drive recovery partition will not help you.
In addition the Windows RE partition has nothing to do with Toshiba, it s a Vista feature.

Then boot from the Toshiba recovery disc and will respond to factory settings! ;)

  • How to reinstall Vista after installing Linux?

Once tired of these multiple Vista Home crashes that I decided to install Linux (OpenSuse). Although a capable OS, I need some windows software and want to restore Vista on this machine. I have the system restore partition, but when I try to run it, it gives me an error. Apparently Windows no longer recognizes the MBR as it has been recreated by GRUB.

I don't have a Windows Installer disk, just the installation of system restore (F11).

Is there a bootable utility I can get to delete the Linux partitions, recreate the C: drive * and * difficulty the MBR? After that, I think I can use the system restore.

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

  • lack of Vista after installing Ubuntu

ORIGINAL TITLE: If it is not broken!

Where is my win vista? After installing Linux (Ubuntu) o/s from a cd free, thinking that it was side by side with vista (according to instructions) instead of vista has been crushed and this linux operating system hardly worked. Now l am running no genuine win 7 just to get the computer running again, which is not very good. Wish l had not disturbed, so how do l get vista back please. Also where my hd space should be 300 GB, is it now to about 180 GB

    Hello

Missing hard drive space can through how you partitioned the drive hard when you installed Ubuntu.

We do not know how set you up.

Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a set of recovery disks Vista.

They should do this for a small fee.

"How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246

And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.

The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup.

    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.

Ask them to the proper key sequence.

You will need to check if this Recovery Partitiion is still after your other installed OS.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

  • No sound on Vista after installing SP1/SP2 with Realtek

    Hello.

I encountered a strange problem on the computer of my parents-in-law office. After an installation of SP1 (and later SP2) no sound stereo speakers that is connected to the computer to an outlet.

The computer is an Acer Aspire T180 with a built-in audio device Realtek HD (5.1, but the connected speakers are two standard PC speakers), and the operating system is Vista. Before installing SP1, the sound was working properly, and absolutely no software or hardware changes have been completed.

    My troubleshooting so far include:

-Tested with a helmet and another pair of speakers that I know works

-I have obviously checked that nothing is cut in all available parameters, or speakers

-Tried each input/output on the back of the computer, as well as on the front

-Checked in "output devices" that the speakers are connected and checked by default device

-Tried the two codecs/drivers available here: http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/desktop/aspire_t180.html

-Tried the drivers of avaiable supplied directly from Realtek: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/

-Uninstalled Realtek everything (both in the Device Manager and programs) and let Vista automatically install the original drivers

-Disabled the 'digital output device (s/PDIF)"which is in the list of devices in output/game

-Unchecked the 'detect connection on the front"in Realtek audio manager program

-In addition, SP2 has been installed, which did not help. In addition, I tried every setting available, uninstalled/installed and so on. During music playback (or test tones Realtek or Windows sounds) all is apparently looking for OK with indicators of volume, jumping up and down, but everything is quiet.

So I'm out of ideas and cannot understand this. I am very grateful for any help and advice. Thank you!

  • x 360: delete the recovery partition after installing Linux

    Hello

My x 360 laptop with 10 Windows works fine. I just installed Linux dual boot (w. Windows 10) on three new partitions. The scores are as below. E, F, G partitions are Linux.

    I have these questions please:

    1. is the recovery partition (D) no longer, now that I have partitioned the disk? (I did a recovery USB flash drive when I bought the computer)

    2. is it safe to remove the recovery partition (D)?

    3. There is also a small partition of 980 MB. What is c? Is it safe to remove?

    Thank you

    YCC

Sorry, no.  You can not recover by using the HP Recovery partition after you change the partitioning scheme.

As it is now, you might as well delete it.

It will not hurt to remove it now because the HP Recovery works doesn'y work in any case.

I know Macrium Reflect can backup and restore Windows and Linux distros because I have tried it, myself.

    Good luck

  • After installing Linux my laptop can not initialize properly

OK so I installed Linux ubunto and I dual boot with my standard version of Win, when me and my friend tried to simply go back to Windows, we have restored to the original with the backup disc only problem is that now the program (GRUB) that loads when you choose your operating system is still on the computer.

It gives me an error message 22 every time... I was told that I have to reset the master boot record or something like that, but I don't know how if someone could please help me?

    Which would be greatly appreciated!

Your MBR (Master Boot Record) contains the GRUB loader. You must recover its original content.

For win95/98/me, you are using 'fdisk /mbr' with a boot disk.
With win2000/xp you start the recovery by using the installation CD console and type fixmbr

Simple question: assuming I made the recovery discs, is it possible to erase Vista, install XP and then re install Vista using recovery disks? The laptop is a Satellite L300-29V.

A big thank you in advance I can see no clear answer elsewhere.

    Hello

If you created the recovery disc, you can do what you want. Why? Very simple: the recovery disk contains an image of the factory settings. This means that the version of Vista pre-installed with all the drivers and tools. It is him you even have started the laptop, the first time.

You can install XP, Linux or whatever you want. Demarrer start from the recovery disk, follow the instructions on the screen and you go back to Vista.

I hope this information is useful for you.
