How to add a USB microphone?

I am trying to add a Blue Snowball USB microphone for use in first Pro CS5, but it does not appear under the audio hardware.  No idea why?

If it worked in iMovie, then the computer is see it very well. In the first (connect the microphone before opening the first) go to the "Audio equipment" tab in preferences. Your "Default Input" drop-down list should list your snowball; If this is the case, go ahead and choose it, even if you don't have to. Looks like you've already tried this well. You connect the microphone before you start the first? And just to be sure that the computer is seeing the mic, go into your system preferences > Sound > entry and see that it is registered. Nice to go directly to the sound prefs keyboard shortcut is "Opt + Volume Up" (in fact, the volume keys work.

Let me know and we can go from there.

Also, you said you were on CS5, so things are different.

I guess you have tried these instructions?

Set up a microphone USB (Mac OS)

  1. In the application Configuration Audio and Midi in utilities, go to Audio > open aggregate device Editor.

  2. Check each of the following:

    • Your USB microphone.
    • An additional input device, for example, Line In.
    • An output device
  3. Select this new global device within Premiere Pro Audio hardware preferences panel.

    Hi Drake,

Review the devices USB connected to your PC and make sure that there is not a USB 1.x device connected to the same USB HUB (front or rear).  USB 1.x devices will cause the USB HUB at the bottom shift to 1.x speeds.

You have an old PC (2002), it is possible that your PC does not have a USB HUB 2.0.  In this case, you need to install a USB PCI adapter card.

HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD PHOTOS IN GALLERY WINDOWS ON USB MICROPHONE PLEASE

    HI Margaret Winwood.

There is no way to directly copy the photos from Windows Photo Gallery into the micro USB drive.
You will need to manually copy the pictures from the original location of the pictures on the computer, and then manually copy into the microphone connected to the computer player.

Try the following steps to copy photos in the micro drive.

    (a) right click on the photo in Windows Photo Gallery and then click Open file location.
    (b) now right-click of the photo, click on copy, then open the Windows USB drive and paste it.

  • How to set up a USB Microphone and a headphone audio jack at the same time on Windows 7?

I recently bought a CAD u37 USB microphone for use in various records and a commentator game on Youtube when I came across a problem. When I plugged the microphone all other sounds immediately extinguished and I couldn't hear the game. I tried to unplug and re - plug in the headphones and the microphone, even play with no helmet without result.

I did some research and found out it's because the microphone is automatically configured for audio input and output and the card sound/headset, not having a configuration. I've recently considered buying a $5 female jack audio converter USB to work around this problem.
Will this work, or just be a waste of money? Are there simpler solutions like a flick of a switch of audio control panel configuration? Are there any programs that will allow me to configure the audio and input output? Is it still possible? Thank you!

    Hi Ben,

I suggest you try to connect USB female to the converter audio jack, this should help to solve the problem with simultaneous USB microphone and audio input jack using headphones.

  • The Yeti USB Microphone Blue is compatible with iPad Air?

    Hi all

I recently bought a Yeti USB Microphone blue after reading was consistent with an iPad (iOS 9.2) of Air using a powered USB hub and cables needed.

I have the mic plugged into the USB hub powered through cable, the iPad plugged into the hub via iPad charging cable and the hub plugged into a socket via the supplied adapter. The iPad, however, does not seem to recognize the microphone at all. Is there something that I am missing or something that maybe, I do not consider?

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

    Happy 2016!

According to the website of Blue, all their microphones are compatible. They say however that not all powered USB hubs will work. They do not say why or how whether your choice will be. They mention a Belkin 4 port.

The other thing I noticed... they use on an iPad analog 30PIN connector 2. Maybe the lightning digital connector is not compatible.

  • USB Microphone setting

Suppose I have a USB microphone, with technical specifications, 16-bit, 48 kHz. Now, when I change the setting in the Audio hardware preferences, selecting anything other than 48K of the questions? Futher when you save an audio file, can I save it to higher bit depth. If Yes, how is it possible, as the microphone is only sending 16-bit per sample at a rate of 48K, and we are recording at the depth of bit higher and higher sampling rates.

Once you have selected the device, then in theory you could save in any case; but only if you let the operating system, which it would almost certainly be automatically re - sample. So, a record at 48 k is definitely the way to go. If you need the result to a different sample rate, let hearing then - much higher quality conversion.

You can save to a greater depth of bit - but all that will happen is if, for example, you have saved in a 24 bit file, the 8 least significant bits are backed up by zeros.

Bottom line - your microphone provides a binary stream of 16-bit 48 k. Nothing you can do will improve the quality of this; You'll end up just using more storage for the same signal, and if we re - sample on the way, a lower result.

Using microphones USB pr on OS X can be difficult.  Run the utility of setting up Audio and Midi (part of Mac OS X) and create a new aggregate device.  Says, add the micro USB as "entry", so that any device output you use (Line Out, integrated, etc.) as output.

After return to proportional representation in the config of Audio material , choose this new global device as the audio device.  As you put the MIC and your output devices, you will be able to use it as an input and output device.

Finally, you want to create a new audio track which is mono only.  This track allows to record from the microphone.

That should do the trick for you.

  • Two USB microphones on a computer = a track, two voices... right?

    Hey everybody,

I apologize for my ignorance, but I have a long list of things to learn about technology, and I learned a lot about computer specifications and features, so I went a little bit. I just finished a list of parts for a custom version, and once this is done, I need to establish a method for the monitoring of sound. I saw on a few threads here that you cannot build two microphones mapped onto a separate track each unless you use a pre microphone or mixer with multiple microphone inputs... and it's unfortunate, because, after spending more than $1 k for the computer, I'm not really willing to spend hundreds more on an intermediate device , microphones, stands, pop filters AND cables. Other than the microphone preamp, it's at least two of everything, and it will get expensive fast.

So... If I use two USB microphones on a computer with Adobe hearing, then the voice of every microphone will be record for a single track, correct? If I wanted to change the voice, I have to go until then individual time during the track instead of referring to, say, "A track to voice A" or "Track B voice B," right?

Not much, so no chance to work at all, I'm afraid. Most people have a little trouble to make a USB microphone is working correctly, and I'm not aware of that anyone ever get both working at the same time. I'm not saying that this is absolutely impossible, but there is a good chance they are.

The problem is that the hearing is focused on the ASIO, and Steinberg (who invented) have determined that because he hits his way in the OS to give you better performance of latency, you can only use one device at a time. And your USB microphone is a device. There is just an outside possibility using ASIO4ALL you can aggregate two USB devices I have the feeling that there is something else that could stop this work - these devices are very slippery, and pilots with them generally aren't much anyway. So you can try it if you want - but I think you would be wasting money. And above all that, you'd have no supervision available (limited to a new device), or if you purchased a USB microphone with a headphone jack on it, you would very quickly find embarrassing how what is...

    Which brings me to:

After spending more than 1 k $ for the construction of the computer, I'm not really willing to spend hundreds more on microphones, an intermediate device, pop filters, stands, AND cables. Other than the microphone preamp, it's at least two of everything, and it will get expensive fast.

To start, you can buy pop and stands filters independently, so it isn't in the equation. Cables really are not expensive (especially if you learn to do it yourself), and there are a number of mixers small enough at a great price with links of USB, and which also provide the replay and monitoring. For example, if you have purchased a Behringer Eurorack UB802, you could pan each microphone on the side of the stereo, and it would let you separate them. It's simple for this divided into a pair of mono channels, so that you can edit them separately if you wish.

And your overall cost is going to be very similar. USB microphones is more expensive than their equivalents not USB, and something like the Behringer will make the difference. So for a similar expense, you will get a system that works, more viable output and some monitoring available. I would say it was a mistake, myself.

  • USB microphone is not listed in the Audio of first drop down hardware

    Hi all.

First of all, I would be grateful very gladly any idea here because I'm totally stuck with this tent to record a voice on the track.

The title is pretty self-explanatory. I work on Mac OS X and first Pro CS5 and I would like to record an audio track, but the USB microphone is not displayed. I have already read several forum discussions and followed the steps, but this problem has not yet been mentioned.

That's what I did several times without success:

1 - Connect the USB cable and check that MacOS recognizes. It works very well.

2 - in Premiere Pro mark taken as a track record. Error message because no input device has been declared.

    3 - premiere Pro > > Preferences > > Audio-Hardware-> no microphones on the menu drop down.

4 - Open audio and Midi and I add all microphones to Premiere Pro (Line-In, built-in and USB device).

5-return to step 3: reopen the project > > Preferences > > Audio-Hardware-> Line-In and integrated appears, but not yet of micro USB.

I was able to record with the built-in microphone, but I don't know what is happening to the USB one. In fact, if I go back to step 4 and open the audio and Midi, boxes that I had checked once reappear unchecked.

I don't understand what is happening. Thank you in advanced for your help.

I'm a PC guy, but if I had your problem I would try to turn off the microphone integrated and entry at the level of the BONE, so that the only possible option for the operating system and applications of line would be the USB microphone.

I use a Logitech USB headset and Pr CS6 has no difficulty to recognize or record with her.
