How to associate an extension of an executable file?

Is it possible to associate a file extension specific to an executable created with labVIEW? And of course to get the corresponding properties: specific icon, opened by double-click...)

  • How to explain the error in the executable file?

As everyone knows, there are 3 parts to the cluster of error: status and source code. The State's flag, the code is the error code and the source is where Labview think that the error occurred. Normally, when I'm in the environment labview course I can just right mouse click the error and click "explain the error" and a description and detailed error possible cause rises.

However, when I create an executable I don't know how to explain the error to the user, such as labview.

When an error occurs that I wish I had a popup that says code error, source and EXPLANATION. The code and the only source is so enigmatic sound quite panic inducing the user, whether or not the error is unrecoverable/crash-inducing. Also this would save me having to search the online error code.

How to make the explanation of the error code? There is a vi that I can enter an error code and get the explanation string?

  • associate a file extension with my executable, how to receive the file name?

    Hello
I use flaslh profresional to create this application: Edit_epl.exe

    I have install the application.

I'm doing a file association extension because I want to do: when double-clicking a file with the extension '.elp', and then runs Edit_epl.exe.

example doubleclick on: 'my_sample.epl'-> then tracks Edit_eplp.exe.   So far so good.

My question is how do you know its file name (my_sample.epl) as a 'parameter' inside the 'Edit_eplp.exe '.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you

    I solve it!

    Question:

I want to click on a text for example file hello.txt, with the content: "my name is Fernando.

    1 - create a My_edit_txt.exe application (with a single text_field, MY TEXT)

    2. install the application.

3 associate the extension txt with my editor: My_edit_txt.exe

    4 - when I click on hello.txt,

5 - the system starts-> My_edit_txt.exe (works good so far)

    6. so I don't know: inside My_edit_txt.exe:

  • How can I really associate .as ActionScript with Flash Builder file in Windows 8?

How can I really associate .as ActionScript with Flash Builder file in Windows 8?

In Windows 7, you have to go to preferences - Flash Builder - File Associations, etc. There is no file Associations in the Windows 8 version: (see image)

Adobe made a web page that indicates that you must use Windows Explorer to associate FlashBuilder.exe .as files, but it does not work: http://helpx.Adobe.com/Flash-Builder/KB/unable-set-default-file-associations.html

FlashBuilder.exe does not support opening a file .as like that. Flash Builder attempts to launch a new process and requires a different workspace to be able to open a Windows file. So either Adobe should add support for binding to the Windows 8 file in Flash Builder, or it must be a setting that prevents the Flash Builder to open a second instance of process.

    Flash Builder Settings.jpg

I found a solution. I used a Windows 7 machine that is the file association appropriate and observed the key of Windows registry using regedit.exe. I exported the key and made a .reg file and copied on my machine Windows 8. After installing registry keys, the associated file did not immediately because Windows 8 has this key to the user choice that always associates the file .as with Flash Professional. So after installing the underside of the keys, then I used Windows Explorer to associate files with Flash Builder .as and my file associations work as expected. It is an Adobe specific integration problem that must be fixed on the end of Adobe to support file associations in Windows 8.

    Success as follows:

    (1) install the registry keys below

    (2) use the Windows Explorer to always associate FlashBuilder.exe .as files

    ========================================================================================

copy the below into a file with the .reg extension. Then use the "Merge" command to Windows Explorer to install in the registry

  • Character code how to associate its width

I have a PDF with TrueType fonts having the width of table. How can I recover the character width when it is read via operator Tj ? I was able build the CTM via operator cm as well as manipulate in other text positioning of operators. Now, I would like to get the text rectangle by 'extension' of the area through CTM (addition of height and width of the police to the existing CTM) and I would like to know how can I retrieve the width for each character of the said widths of table?

I forgot how I this annoying extension in the first place, but I can't uninstall it!
I was disabled, but still, there's always this annoying pop up ads that appear!

Extensions that do not have a "Delete" button are installed by other software and are not under the control of the Firefox extensions Manager.
These extensions installed in the world are usually found through an analysis of the register or are installed in a place where Firefox search extensions you installed.

The extensions installed that need to be removed through the program settings (options/preferences), which added this extension or this program needs to be uninstalled via the "Control Panel > programs.
In Firefox you only disable this extension.

  • How do I burn a file .img to a DVD and have it be an executable file?

How do I burn a file .img to a DVD and have it be an executable file?

It seems that used to be possible using disk utility, but not more for some reason any.

    Hi Frank

Not sure, what do you mean by executable video file, assume you mean play on a DVD player.

You create an image file to DVD in iMovie, FCPX etc... This allows the correct coding and the structure files for DVD, s / BDs.

Once you have the .img file, you can (control) click on the file and choose ' burn Image 'File name' disk drive...» »

Be aware that you need a R/W drive mounted/Secretary for the contextual elements appear. If you have a Blu - ray image, you need a BD player. Your file must be less than 4.7 GB for single DVDs faces or ~8.2GB for the DVD DLs. to 100GBs for quad layer BDs.

There are other 3rd party there as well.

    Hope this helps, Greg

  • How to associate a .fp file with a .lib file?

    Hello

How to associate a .fp I create in the ICB with a .lib (i.e. not a .c file) file so that I can create a range of service to go with an external library that I can disseminate to third parties through a .dll file?  The help file seems to hint that this is possible, but I don't understand how to do.  Pointers?

    Thank you.

The association is done automatically: If you have a .lib file with the same name as the file .fp, in the same location as the .fp, CVI will use the .lib file as the program of the .fp file, even if there is also a .c file with the same name.

You can check what program file is attached to the instrument by selecting Edit tool from the context menu of the instrument in the tree of the Instrument of the workspace window, and then clicking the button information display.

  • How can question I run an executable file in the background?

    Hello

I'm trying to run an executable in the context of LabVIEw, but none of the methods described in the forum and on ni.com seems to work. I use LV 2011 on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine where it is important.

I tried the method described in "How to make an executable in the background as a marketing app?" (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/4A8B626B55B96C248625796000569FA9?opendocument&Submitted&&... but I always see a fragment of a window at the bottom near the start (Exhibit 1) key.) Table 2 shows that it consists only of the title bar. (I customized the appearance of the window as described and added the two points

    HideRootWindow = True

    UseTaskBar = FALSE

    in the *.ini file.)

I also tried to disable all other items in the menu customize appearance of window with the same result.

Then I tried the method described in "Ongoing execution of an executable of LabVIEW as a background process" (http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/EFEAE56A94A007D586256EF3006E258B) addition of the FP. Open the VI method and affecting the hidden state. I got the same result (table 1).

Should I do more or different for my version of windows? I appreciate your help. Thank you.

I found the problem. It was a wrong directory for the build name. I continued under an older version of the executable with the default window settings. The method that is described in how to run an executable file in the background as a startup Application? "(Works... http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/4A8B626B55B96C248625796000569FA9?opendocument&Submitted&& .

Sorry, for wasting your time. Mea culpa.

  • How can I view .vi in an executable?

Programming changes are required for a LabVIEW application.  The application is built as an executable file (LabVIEW 7.1).  Is there a way to have access to in the .vi and edit them or am I stuck having to rebuild the application from scratch?  I'm using LabVIEW 8.5 (FDS).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Paul

While you will probably be able to extract the screws by changing the extension to .llb and actually use them in a new VI, you will not be able to change them. You need the source code.

  • How to find the path to an executable of construction labview

After generating an executable file with Labview and the installer, users install on some PCs. During the installation process, they have the option to install to a directory of choice here. How can I know this way of installation with a non-labview, for example script method.

    Jorn

    Hello Jörn,

According to my experience, you have two options:

    (A) search all possible installation locations and find the location of the executable file.

    (B) for the installation that your script can do refers to the value afflicted a permanent Pavilion.  It is usually a registry key, but you can also use a text file that installs in the user of an application data directory or data in the same place no matter where the user places the exe itself.  System variables are also an option, but I see no good reason to use those unless you need run your script remotely.  Be aware that intervention antivirus or the user can snaffle these methods if you are relying on them, so if something essential is based on your script following that you'll either want to leave the user in the documentation or through a prompt orders or check/recreate this indicator in the exe itself, perhaps as part of the launch process (or both).

For (B), you do not want this as an action of post-installation (available as an option in the tab 'Advanced' of the Installer Application Builder Properties window) and write the installation to the location/file/variable you chose.

    Kind regards
