You should probably disable, uninstall, clean and then reinstall.

To disable open one of the programs which remains and choose Help-> Deactivate.

Then uninstall all you can of what remains as you would normally uninstall programs (it is not normal to screw up or remove).

    Step 1:

To disable this, the simplest method is to remove or uninstall the plugin Click-to-Call with Skype , through the Control Panel Add/Remove or uninstall function.

  • How to make a program available to all users if the program was installed for a user

Basically, the problem is that I created another user account, but only a few random apps appear on it and I was REALLY looking FORWARD to having to reinstall some programs + 50 so my computer can function normally on my secondary account.  I am able to find a lot of programs installed by snooping around in Explorer and have been able to run some by creating shortcuts, but many of them (Spybot, Itunes, Google Chrome, THE LIST GOES ON!) nothing do when the .exe is open and are unusable (on this account).
Also, I want to say there is no page support for Windows 7 that cover this topic (that I could find by using the provided search engine), and the more those (as for windows 2000) do not apply because they tell you to move files Windows has more, but it is a known problem and Microsoft should incorporate a simple way to add or remove accounts without uninstall/install programs just to be able to check a box... _ Perhaps there could even be an option for this in a very obvious place, as installed programs list of the filth or user account settings.

Any application that is properly designed to work on Windows 7
either would give the person making the installation option to
make the application available to all users, or do it automatically.
by default. It is entirely the responsibility of an application
programmers and out of Microsoft's control. Thus, the easiest way, of
of course, is to use an application that is designed for a multi-user operating system.
But, unfortunately, this is not always an option, where companies must rely on
    existing proprietary applications.

If you install the legacy application places its shortcuts
only in the start of the person performing the installation, all the
You may need to do is to move these Start Menu entries to the same
    location in the C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start start\program
folder and/or the C:\Users\Public\Public Desktop folder.

In addition, such an incompatible application can offer additional
    "challenges:

You may experience problems if the software has been designed to
Win9x / Me, or if it was intended for Windows NT / 2 K/XP, Vista/Win7, but was
poorly designed. Quite simply, the application 'knows' how
manage individual user with different security permissions profiles
    e going to
'banned' sections of the Windows registry or Windows protected
    system folders.

For example, the saved data is often stored in a subfolder under the
folder of the application in C:\Program Files - a place where it doesn't
the inexperienced user or limited should never have write permissions.

It may even be that the software requires 'write' access to the parties
the registry or the files/folders to systems protected are not normally
accessible to regular users. (He * didn't * happen if the application is)
correctly written.) If this does not prove that that is the case, however, you
often left with three options: either grant the required users
privileges of senior access (either as users with power or local
Administrators), explicitly grant privileges for normal users
the relevant records and/or parts or the registry or replace the
request by another who has been properly designed especially for
    WinNT / 2 K/XP/Vista/Win7.

Some programs do not work if you connect limited account
    http://support.Microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB; EN-US; q307091

In addition, here are some tips suggested, in response to a
another post, MS - MVP Kent W. England:

"If your game or your application works with administrator accounts, but not with."
limited accounts, you can set it to allow limited users to access to the
folder Program files with 'change' ability rather than 'read' that
    is the default value.

    C:\>Cacls "Program Files\appfolder" /e /t /p user: c

where "appfolder" is the folder where the application is installed.

If you want to undo these changes, then run

    C:\>Cacls "Program Files\appfolder" /e /t /p user: r

NOTE: On Win7 Icacls.exe gives more control.

If you still have a problem with the delivery of the program or save the settings
on limited accounts, you may need to change the permissions in the registry
keys. Run regedit.exe and go to HKLM\Software\vendor\app, where
the key of the Publisher of the software used to your own
program. Change the permissions on this key to allow users full control. »

  • How Win764() will not work if I install programs elsewhere other than the default Program Files folders?

The reason for this question is that I want both 1.) Learn more about Win7 64 bit works, as well as 2.) understand the scope of customization possible.

In any case, first of all, what this scenario: what happens if I create a subfolder in each of the two Program Files folders? Say, in the (x 86) program, I create a subfolder called Programs (x 86). Or another name, whatever and say that I do the same thing for the Program Files folder. So, what happens if instead of installing all my software back into the default directory Program Files or program (x 86), what happens if I start to install in these subdirectories to the place?

Everything works fine? I heard that these two Program Files folders have assignments to special access for security reasons. As I start working on these issues, the same security structure would be preserved, correct? Second, everything will work correctly not only wise, but in terms of features? I know that each of the Program Files folders also has its own common files folder. If I make my method, installed programs to put their files in the Common Files folder correctly, and then get back them properly when necessary?

Finally, I would also like to know out of curiosity, what would happen if I don't use the program files directories at all and instead started to install things in a completely different directory. But that is less an issue for me at the moment. I just want to know if what I have set out above would be good or not.

    Thank you!

    Hi StormRyder

This issue is beyond the scope of these level consumer forums.

I would recommend that you post on the Technet ITPro Windows 7 forumsfollow-up questions. Advanced on these forums users are more familiar with these types of settings, and may explain some of the common pitfalls you may encounter, as well as how to be ready in case something goes wrong.

    I hope this helps.

  • How tio changes the programs installation directory, I want to install?

How tio changes the programs installation directory, I want to install? I'm trying to install a lot of programs is always installed in "Local disk C" that low memory space. Please tell me how can I install the programs in other folders such as "Local disk D and E and F. And also please tell me that the directory in which the widows is installed when reached about his memory limit, does windows performance issues.

Win needs 15% free space for proper operation.

Using various hacks registry posted on various sites to redirect the default program installation folder to another drive is not supported by MS and can cause problems.

Most of the programs when you install them have the option for a custom install, where you can specify where / which drive to install, but not all programs have this option. Even if you install a separate drive various files/folders will be written on victory drive.

If the drives D, E & F are separate partitions of a disk, you will need to modify/extend partition in win

  • How to determine if an installed program is Legit or necessary and I have a problem with Microsoft Essentials as well.

I went through the system to my PC and while watching the programs installed in the Control Panel, I noticed several strange programs I don't remember installing.  I have just suffered the wrath of a restoration complete in October, Yes, it was terrible.  Anyway, how can I know if the installed programs are useful or harmful to my PC?  They are legitimate programs? If legit, are necessary or simply make my PC run slow?  Any help would be greatly appreciated, I can't really experience the collapse of PC that I just went through.

In addition to the above PC problem... recently when I boot my PC, Microsoft Security Essentials - REAL PROTECTION IS ALWAYS TURNED OFF TIME?  I uninstalled the program and reinstalled it twice... maybe, I missed a step.  In any case, there has never been that big red "X" showing the real-time protection is disabled and my PC is at risk?  Comments or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Hi Andi Bow,

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community.

Based on the information, there are several odd programs that installed on your computer without your information and Microsoft Security Essentials is always off.

What programs you are skeptical about?

You can find these online programs to see their credibility. You may also let us know if there is any doubt.
You can also try to run an online scan to check if the virus is completely removed from the system.

Check out the link to launch the scan:
