  • Have you noticed a Windows Update, the installation of the video drivers?

  Possible reason for this behavior:
  I suspect that a third-party application to start conflicts and it translates into changing the resolution. Once you got the correct resolution after re-installing the drivers set the computer to clean up state of startup and then check if the resolution changes.
