  As far as I know the a Note is part of the recovery Image and the CD is not supplied with the unit. In addition, Toshiba units are not delivered with the Office 2000 software.

  That's what I did to stop the throbbing and attempts to download (gleamed from various positions)...

  Uninstall these updates (available in the Microsoft Windows section):

  KB2952664

  KB2976978 (usually found in 8.x Windows machines)

  KB3035583

  KB3044374 (usually found in 8.x Windows machines) KB3068708

  Do NOT reboot when it asks you.  After you are done go to Windows Update and search for updates, and you will see them listed again. Right mouse click on each of them individually and select hide update.  Then go to Windows Update in Control Panel and select change settings and uncheck give me updates in the same way I receive important updates recommended.  I also changed my important updates to the updates but let me choose whether to download and install them.

  Note: Although these updates come as a optional and Important, once installed they are displayed as recommended.

  You can try to look for the line of table2 by using the method findByKey() of the ViewObject.

  If findByKey() returns 1 row, this means that you need to update.

  If it returns 0 rows means that you need to insert a new line.

I disabled the office 2013 update and not the other 9 updates, thinking that I could make those after I had Office installed upgrading so I would like to know if my taskbar icon problem has been resolved. At the bottom of the screen even when the Office update was the only update checked I chose to install updates. The Surface actually installed all updates, not only the update of Office.

  I've been a happy user of Windows 7 and have always wanted to have Microsoft warn me of updates are available for my system. I am very careful to keep them, but I want to install them manually, myself.

  Two days earlier, Windows Update started showing the Windows 10 to upgrade, as an important update and advised me to... "Start install now."

  I've been delaying this until I have decide exactly WHEN to do it, on my own terms. Is there a program that I use and that has quite developed a version of Win 10 still. I want to improve when that is developed.

  However, I am now unable to install any other updates to my Windows 7 operating system, without having to install Windows 10.

  I tried to get the optional update, which is available now, but cannot because the... "Start installation now..." Win 10 update starts automatically as soon as I decide to download the optional update.

  It is the first time this has ever happened, and it is really annoy me.

  Is it possible to continue to get Windows 7 upgrades without HAVING to install Win 10?

  Any advice would be much appreciated.
