  I've upgraded to faster and more powerful computers (3 times in the last year). I have 3 computers - one with an Intel i7 64 bit running windows 7, a second with Intel core 2 Quad running vista 32-bit and Intel core 2 duo laptop running Windows 7.

  I have two editing Corel Video Studio Pro X 2 and first Adobe Elements 8 applications. Each came with the strengths and weaknesses.

  I am disappointed by Adobe regarding how to merge two or more projects into a master project. Working with large video projects is not what I like to do. Ten to 15 mins projects are my favorite length. However, when it comes to burn a DVD and adding projects to the list (this can be done in Pro X 2), I seem to be stuck with burning a DVD separate for each project of first Elements 8. This isn't the way to go if I do work for a client and they want just a DVD.

  I read on a forum and tried to convert an AVI to each project and then inserting each AVI file in my 'master' or final project timeline and then burn a single DVD. This principle works, but the quality of video playback (especially when the subjects are moving) is not acceptable. The edges are saw teeth and the overall quality of resolution is downgraded from the original AVCHD video from Sony handycam camera.

  Not to be too negative on creative adobe 8 elements, he did a great job of editing and burning to DVD with original AVCHD files direct the camera (pre-AVI conversion). I am very satisfied with this part of the application.

  I wish just that I don't have to save or convert each project separate adobe for AVI files in order to combine a number of projects.

  By the way I set up a project that had three blocks in the video (20 seconds) still subject (in this case roses growing in the garden in broad daylight) one block was directly from the camera format AVCHD, one was an uncompressed AVI file is using the options to 'share' in Adobe and third block is a done compressed AVI file also using 'share' in adobe. It was very clear to me that the AVI files are down on the quality of the original AVCHD file of the camera (only slightly better than the compressed AVI uncompressed AVI).

  AND other trouble, it was AVI files reduced the size of the image (same proportions 16:9) and that was disappointing on a HD screen. AVCHD met clear and clean and filled the screen on my 42 '' HDTV files.

  If anyone has had the same problem and can you please help with the concerns that I have.

  The possibility of using the individual sequences, when you edit a project, is a force of PrPro. However, there is a difference in price between the two programs. You have to ' get something for your $, right? Personally, I created my PrPro sequences like "chapters" change like that and then export each sequence import into Encore to create.

  Pre, Steve to edit a project and then export as DV - AVI, technical for import in 'the master' project for the creation of final on DVD, is the best method. Were I not also on PrPro, this is exactly what I would do. It works perfectly. When all is said and done, there are no other measures, as for me, using PrPro and again. PrE was capacity-building, albeit somewhat limited, if a user does not need to transfer AV files to another program (in my case).

  Now the content of the two projects should be on

  If you have Acrobat Pro, you can combine more than 12 files by choosing File > create > combine files into a single PDF file. 12 file limit is only imposed by the online Adobe PDF Pack service. Acrobat itself isn't such a limit.

  You can export a calendar in a SET, then import it back and add, in the second schedule. In order to develop more... you have two appendices A and B. Export to a file SET. Open B, then import the x from A to B. Under Options project to import in the import, import action Wizard, choose Add in the existing project.

  Under view-> sidebar-> bookmarks there are a list of L-O-N-G files and bookmarks for individual sites.

  There is ONE ENTRY for "Bookmarks Menu" and following that are TWO independent lists a set of folders and individual bookmarks, and THEN a SECOND set of records is followed by another list of individual bookmarks. None of these sets entries are duplicates of each other.

  How can I merge the two of them, while I have a set of RECORDS, followed by a set of INDIVIDUAL bookmarks - that I can sort the entire list in alphabetical order?

  Currently, when I right click on the Menu "bookmarks" I show options that include choosing "sort by name". When I choose "Sort by name" * ONLY * the first set of RECORDS & INDIVIDUAL bookmark entries are sorted in alphabetical order.

  Ideally, I would like to have the TWO lists be merged and sorted.

  How it happened (the existence of two sets of RECORDS & INDIVIDUAL bookmark lists) I don't know.

  If you sort the folder Menu bookmarks, all the bookmarks below that will be sorted to the extent where a separator - a horizontal line. Remove the separators to fix everything.

  I'm not sure that understand how LR4 combines the overall saturation slider and local adjustments. Two questions in "BOLD" at the bottom.

  I did the following experiments:

  1) begins with an image raw color, version 2012 process, intact.

  (2) bring a lower overall saturation to-100

  (3) add a graduated with a + 100 saturation filter (I added, say, sharpness-100 to see precisely which side the filter is applied)

  I would expect half of the picture to color and a half b & w. Instead, the filter is totally ineffective (that is, it has absolutely no effect, you can see this turning point). So I assume that the total saturation is not "additive" (i.e. - 100 + 100), but perhaps "compound" (i.e. the product of 1 + p/100). If this were true, then any cursor to-100 equal would bring saturation at least. Let's see if this is true:

  (4) set overall saturation to-100. any value for the saturation of the filter is ineffective

  (5) set saturation to-100 and 0 overall saturation filter. now (say) in my photo, the sky is blue on the left and the gray on the right.

  (6) slowly move overall saturation from-50 to + 100: changes in the gray sky. a.... less saturated gray to a sort of... supersaturation in gray (more blilliant and slightly yellow?).

  so, the conjecture is false, and it seems that the filter is applied first, and the overall value is applied last, IGNORING what the filter may be done (so if the blue transformed filter in gray, then "saturate" the gray).

  (A) is - this documented anywhere?

  B) in particular, if I want to do everything except a very small area, Desaturate I have to paint the complement of the area including the saturation - 100 who feels quite natural (I want to do something on the small surface paint). Is there a solution?

  Yes.

  In addition to the local against the global problem of clipped pixels command, most algorithms have limits, and what happens when adjustments push them these limits depends on the adjustment.

  For example:

  local highlights:

  (assuming that global highlights = 0)

  -50 & -50: same effect as-100

  but

  -50-50 & -50: effect is stronger than-100, but not as strong as-150.

  Why?

  because you're to reach the end of this who-highlights can do, and instead of just stop working completely (and suddenly), the effects of other residents begins to roll-off (large cone). Similarly for the shadows. Highlights/shadows points threshold is 100 - nothing more than that and you get diminishing returns.

  FWIW - that's why the globals for those who are limited to 100 - so there is enough clearance for the inhabitants to have some effect, even if it is as you would expect.

  Also big problems because of the order at the local negative values have a different meaning than positive values.

  One of the most critical, especially if the conversion of photos of 2003 with a local negative sharpening (radical change to negative (local) sharpening) introduced in PV2010:

  Total amount local sharpening > 0 adds to overall (not sure what is happening to the limit max).

  -1 to-50 (partial sharpening total is hidden)

  -50 to-100 (blur)

  Another biggie - local clarity. Since negative local clarity is applied before overall positive clarity (as opposed to being consolidated) and negative clarity works radically different "less positive" clarity, there is a huge difference between the setting of high overall clarity and applying negative clarity (locally) too specified regions, versus applying lower overall clarity and complete within the regions clarified using local clarity with positive values. It is the one that bit me a bunch, but thanks to the issue raised by this thread, there will be no more...

  I really wish that Adobe documents such things, then we'd know since him commenting rather than find out later...

  I have two postscript files, each representing a pure black and white, images identically companies (generated by Eagle PCB, is not that it's all that relevant), as it is attached.   I would like to combine the two files into a single file where are the two images side fits on one line so I can print them together.   What is the easiest to do this route?

  In fact, I could solve the problem with a little reverse engineering of the Postscript and a bash script.

  The files two postscript define a bunch of common functions and some points of reference and call these functions to draw geometries.  I just extend the width of a drawing by 2 X, remove the "grestore" from the bottom, translate the origin back to the middle and shoot another image, followed by a "grestore.
