  • How to compress and decompress the host

Sorry if this sounds like a newbie question - but I am.

Because of bad communications, I would like to transfer files from a customer in the data store ESX4i in zip file.  for example, the virtual machine is 80 GB but when zipped it's less than 8 GB.  I can't depend on 80GB transfer over the network potentially for hours without getting dropouts etc..

I know that I can transfer the file zip through the CLI (alive).  My question, once it is there, how I decompress the file.

I think I can drop towards the mode not supported on 4i ESX host and use gunzip - I can do the equivalent using the CLI or the vsphere client?

Similarly, can I zip the contents of a data store folder and simply transfer the zip file?

I know he supports the two ESX(I) 4.0, do not know if there are major changes of this 4.1 support, you'll want to test and see. The documentation is probably the next place to look and there is actually a forum for questions about the ovf tool - http://communities.vmware.com/community/vmtn/vsphere/automationtools/ovf

  • How to get and install the file txtsetup.oem for xp

need to know how to get and install the txtsetup.oem file to install xp

    Hello

The easiest way would be to visit the website of the manufacturer of the motherboard. This would normally have downloads for any RAID drivers required for the loading of Windows XP. The download can be an "executable" who writes a disk for you. It can be also something like a zip file with all files inside that must be extracted and copied to a floppy disk.

If your PC is not a floppy drive, life becomes quite complicated.

Please mark this as useful or response if applicable.

  • How to save and delete the file

Hi, I'm really confused on how to use my computer. When I save the files that they disappear. Say if I record a song that it does not record the "music" file I only find under downloads. I also have a bunch of pictures I want to delete and I don't know how. Also open PDF files full screen and I don't want them that way. How can I fix it? :(

When you delete a file from your computer, it is actually just moved to the trash, where it is temporarily stored until the Recycle Bin is empty. This gives you an opportunity to recover accidentally deleted files and bring back them to their original location.

Zip (compression) of files and folders

Right click on a file or a folder with many files it contains, point to send to, and then select the compressed file (zipped file).

Windows Vista will compress (zip) the file or folder and save the new file zipped in the same place as the original file.

    Unzip (unzip) files and folders

You can unzip a file in several different ways.

    Double-click the zipped file

To decompress a file, the easiest method is to double-click it. It will open a window with the contents of zipped files. You can click on extract all files or drag the files from the window to the desired location (example: office).

If you choose to click on extract all files, the files are extracts (uncompressed) in the same location as the original file, unless you specify a location in the Destination box, and extract the files that appears when you choose to extract them.

    Right-click on the zipped file

Right click on the zip file and select extract all. The Select a Destination window will open and extract files and you can choose if you want to save the files in the same location as the original file, or you can choose where you want to save the unzipped files by clicking Browse and choose a new location.

Personally, I download, install and use 7-Zip for all needs in my compression/decompression (in general).

  • DVD how much we need for the files backup with backup and restore program?

    Hello how are you?
DVD how much we need for the files backup with backup and restore program? Y at - it large differences in the time and space between write backups on DVD and external hard drive?

I do not understand your question.  Asked how the space has been used on your C: drive and you answered 60 GB.  Now you say your PARTITION C: is 60 GB with only 20 GB used?  I really don't understand what you're so confused.  It's simple arithmetic grade 3rd.  What is space you USED on the C: drive, that multiply by 0.7 to obtain the amount of space will be used on your backup disk after compression.  Divide this number by 4.7 and round.  That's how many DVDs you'll need if you insist on the use of DVDs for backup.  Then

    (1) If you are using 60 GB, the answer is (60 x.7) / 4.7 = 8.936.  I rounded up to 9 and added 1 just to be sure.

    (2) If you use only 20 GB, the answer is (20 x.7) / 4.7 = 2.97 rounded up to 3.  Add 1 and get 4.

If you use only 20 GB, I am very surprised, because almost any important installation of Windows 7 is going to take more than 20 GB.

All of this assumes that you do NOT use the Windows backup and restore program, but one that I recommended.  When I used the windows one, the results were several times the space that I used on my C: partition.

    Good luck.
