How to configure 2 databases on a single computer.

I have the database software Oracle 10 g XE installed in my operating system "Windows 7 Enterprise.
Oracle XE have predefined service called "XE", I installed/imported my database schemas and objects in this database and I connect with the Java software now successfully to the database with the connection string:
DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=XE)))
I call this database that I log in as 'FirstDatabase '. But now I want to implement in my computer a different database that I call "SecondDatabase" and which has its own data and schemas that must locate/reside separately from the database "FirstDatabase", the two databases have also some schema names equal.
How can I configure "SecondDatabase" in my computer?

I should create another 'data service' called 'XE_Second '? Or do I have to install another instance of database software? Or should I create another logical database object with Create / keyword and later referencing it somehow in the connection string?

The result should be that I could connect in some way to this second database with the help of the connection as string:
DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=127.0.0.1)(PORT=1521))(CONNECT_DATA=(SERVICE_NAME=XE_Second)))
(I do not understand how to implement the second database, because I'm not so competent on the DBA tasks, but I apparently have to do such things from time to time, my employment contract says nothing of DBA tasks really, so now I'm in trouble, I need to change the company I think because I'm plain simple sql-negro) not a s/n)

Hi again!

The first thing to do is to install the Oracle software. The directory where you install it is called the Homedirectory 'Oracle '. Assume that you install oracle in u01/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/dbhome_1. This will be your ORACLE_HOME.

In the next step, you create a database. The files associated with this DB (let's call ORCL) are stored in their own directory e. g./u01/app/oracle/oradata/ORCL. This is true for each DB you create, e.g. a second DB called NEXTORCL could reside in/u01/app/oracle/oradata/NEXTORCL.

Now how do you start a DB?

1.) Execute the oraenv script and type the name of your DB (e.g., ORCL)

. oraenv
ORACLE_SID = [] ? ORCL

2.) start the listener

lsnrctl start

3.) start the DB ORCL

sqlplus / as sysdba

startup

To start the next DB NEXTORCL do the same steps but the type in ORCLNEXT instead of ORCL.

Oraenv allows to switch between these two DBs.

I think that it is a little bit of FIRST AID for you. To get more knowledge on this please read the Oracledocumentation to the http://tahiti.oracle.com

Yours sincerely

Florian W.

    Hello

    How to connect two databases to a listener.is it is possible or not

    Hello

    Yes, you can record a single listener to respond to several databases. There are several ways to do it and the best way that I would suggest for you is the use of "Network Setup Wizard" or "netca", which is a graphical interface that allows you to meet your requirement. Otherwise, you can hardcode in your listener.ora file located in the 'ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/listener.ora '.

    Example is as follows

    Listener.ora

    SCREW =
    (DESCRIPTION_LIST =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = lab01) (PORT = 1521))
    )
    )

    SID_LIST_VIS =
    (SID_LIST =
    -1 database configuration
    *(SID_DESC =*)
    * (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1)*
    * (SID_NAME = DB1) *.
    *)*
    -Database Setup 2
    *(SID_DESC =*)
    * (ORACLE_HOME = /u01/app/oracle/product/11.1.0/db_1)*
    * (SID_NAME = DB2). *
    *)*
    )

    Then restart your listener.

    Now using this name of the listener, you create a DSN and use in SPR, you want to develop

    go to ODBC Data Source Administrator & and add with Microsoft ODBC for Oracle DSN
    in the server field, you write your parent machine\listenername

  • How to configure Enterprise Manager Database Control (MCCD) to make it work on 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG

    Hello everyone I use Oracle Database EE 11.2.0.4 with DG.

    In these cases, I need to get Enterprise Manager Database Control running against DB with no CARS and no DG I do the following:

    I have SQLPLUS logon as user SYS or SYSTEM and drop the account sysman and business objects:

    DECLARE

    CURSOR c1 IS

    SELECT master, synonym_name name

    OF dba_synonyms

    WHERE table_owner = "SYSMAN";

    BEGIN

    TO r1 c1 LOOP

    IF r1.owner = "PUBLIC" THEN

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP PUBLIC SYNONYM ' |" R1. Name;

    ON THE OTHER

    RUN IMMEDIATELY "DROP SYNONYM ' |" R1. Owner: '. ' || R1. Name;

    END IF;

    END LOOP;

    END;

    /

    Mgmt_view DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    DROP ROLE mgmt_user;

    /

    Sysman DROP USER CASCADE;

    /

    After that, I run

    EMCA - config dbcontrol db-rest recreate

    But what do I do in case I have 2 servers (primary and standby) work according to the rules of the DG?

    Hello

    It is not possible to monitor and administer a basic physical or logical standby, IE using Enterprise Manager Database Control Data Guard.  This is mainly due to the fact that Database Control is designed to monitor the 1-database and an environment Data Guard, by definition, includes more than 1 database.

    If you attempt to run emca against a database of pending, you will get an error like (i.e. ORA-01219: database is not open).

    Of course, database Control, can be used to monitor the current main database (with no capacity to administer or control Data Guard related features).  In such a case, failover Database Control needs to be reconfigured to run on the new primary database using the commands described in detail in Note 278100.1 how to remove, create and recreate DB Control In A Database, section c. recreate/ReConfig DB control, Option 2 10 g. recreate the control DB Configuration files and repository.

    Enterprise Manager Grid Control or Cloud control provides the functionality for display, monitor, and administer the primary and standby databases in a Data Guard configuration.

    Reference: It is Possible to configure the database for a logical or physical Standby Database command? (Doc ID 315116.1)

    You can effectively use EM 12 c cloud control to monitor and manager ensures DB

  • How to configure the different VLANs (using the E3200)?

    Hello.

    I want to implement different VLANs (using the E3200) so that I can have two different networks that cannot access each other.

    The E3200 is connected to a modem for internet access.

    I would like that the two networks to access the internet.

    The only E3200 does support the creation of VLANs?

    If not, is there another way I can satisfy the requirement by using the single E3200 (using something else than VLANs)?

    At the end of the day, I think that I would need at least another router.

    Thus, for example,.

    Router a (E3200) is connected to the configuration / modem to DHCP with a rank 192.168.1.1/24 LAN IP address.

    Router B is connected to the router and Setup for DHCP by using a LAN IP range 192.168.2.1/24.

    This peripheral way connected to the router A should not have access to devices connected to router B and vice versa, correct?  For example, X device connected to the router cannot ping or browse files on the device is connected to router B and vice versa, correct?

    Do I need to configure anything else on router B?  For example, do I need the DNS configuration settings so that devices connected to router B can connect to the internet without problem?  Do I need to specify that these VLANs are not bridged and which router, or both?

    I already know how to configure a static IP address, DHCP, beaches LAN IP and static DNS settings on a router, etc.

    With respect to wireless devices, I think that they would follow the same model; for devices connected to the router wireless (E3200) have access to other devices Wi-wired and connected to the router, but not to devices with or without wire, connected to router B and vice versa.  However, if the wireless devices have currently access to wired devices was also connected to the router, so it's good for now.

    Thank you very much!

    -Rami

    The E3200 has no support VLAN according to the manual. There is no way to configure two separate networks with this single router.

    You need to add network electronics.

    Ex:

    Managed with VLAN switch

    Another wireless router with VLAN

    If your modem provides several public or private IP addresses, then you could put a switch after the modem and two wireless routers that are attached to the switch.

    can someone guide me on how to configure the external server and it intergrate with the DMM 5.2

    Thank you

    semuthu,

    Notes from the Release Notes:

    Limitations of compatibility with Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)

    DMP who use firmware version 5.2 is compatible with a single version of Microsoft Internet Information Server.

    This supported version is IIS 6.0 for Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition. If you do not have the support for IIS version but

    want your DMP to recover the assets of a Web server, we recommend that you use Apache instead of IIS.

    I suggest to use Apache instead of IIS for the Web Server service. IIS can be used as FTP if necessary.

    There are a lot of Documents on the Internet concerning the implementation of Apache and FTP servers.

  • Install Oracle GoldenGate Linux to synchronize two schemas from database on a single server

    Hi all

    I have to synchronize two schemas from database (Oracle 12 c) in a single host RedHat Linux to demonstrate and understand the use of OGG V12.1.2.1.0. I try to do. But it's complicated and confused me because I am new to Oracle and Linux. I followed this tutorial ( install Oracle GoldenGate for Oracle 12.1.2 on CentOS/6.x to 6.x/RHEL Linux 6.x EL ). But it is difficult to understand how I can match with two diagrams of database on a single server.

    And I found this tutorial (Oracle GoldenGate on Linux: two-way replication of Oracle 11 GR 2 to Oracle 11 g 2). He said: "" If you have that one host, it may be useful to change the /etc/hosts file to create aliases forhost01.example.com and host02.example.com.". What it really means?

    The other seems to be useful. But it's totally different from 1. Is that this will help my job since I use 12 c Oracle Server?

    Can I get some tips to continue my task?

    Here's another tutorial - http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/goldengate/12c/OGG12c_Integrated_Replicat/index.html

    It has everything set up on a single Linux host.

    Oracle database includes Oracle's Scheduler, which is a sophisticated job scheduler. You can set up a job scheduler to update your table and create an interface user of APEX, allowing users to change the work using the methods in the DBMS_SCHEDULER package.

    Other issues related to the creation of the APEX user interface can be requested here, but there is a forum of Planner where you refer questions about aspects of the Scheduler.

    Hello

    (1) some users need only approved nursery

    (2) some users need only hold Administaror Group approval

    (3) some users need two groups and Resouce Administrotor approval.

    Since the code Java Jave Embeeded task, I can decide what type of approval required (plus three) but

    I am not able to understand how to configure this in Apporval.task in SOA so that it does approve by so . Can someone help me please.

    Thank you

    Raj.

    Write your code with all your scenarios so that at the end of the day, you have identified the values for each possible approver.  If it is not required, set the value to "false" or another value and pass in your payload.  In your approval task, create an assignment for each.  In the lower part of each assignment, there is an entry that allows you to set a value ignore then use the value of the payload = 'false' comparison for this assignment.  Then it will pop all the other approval of task assignments from your list of approval tasks.  This will allow you to always have a task of single approval for all combinations.

  • How have the Linux database server listener listen to the service in the Net of Windows XP Client Manager?

    People,

    Hello. I installed Oracle 11 GR 2 database server in the Oracle Linux 5 operating system.
    All customers (NetCA, DBCA, GROUND Deveoper, sqlplus...) works properly on the database server. The LISTENER_PT853 listener is listening on client tools under Linux successfully.

    I also installed Oracle database Client(SQL Developer, NetMgr, NetCA, sqlplus,...) in Windows XP. So that the client tools to connect to the database on Linux server, the listener in Linux must be tuned to the service in Windows XP.

    In Oracle Linux 5 Server Machine Net Manager:

    Service name: PT853
    Connection type: default database
    "TCP/IP Protocol".
    Host name: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

    Listener: LISTENER_PT853
    Protocol: TCP/IP
    Host: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

    I have test the Service PT853 with "SYS" username and password "SYS." The connection is successful.

    In the Windows XP Client computer, the information in the Net Manager is lower at:

    Service name: PT853_Linux
    Protocol: TCP/IP
    The host of the database Machine name: 192.168.196.102
    Port: 1521

    I test the connection by using "SYS" username and password "SYS" and got this error: ORA - 12514:TNS: listener does not currently of service requested in connect descriptor. There may be an error in the input fields or server may be ready to connect.

    Can I check the status of the listener in Linux Server machine as below:

    [user@localhost bin] $. / lsnrctl status LISTENER_PT853

    Its release: Service PT853 has 1 instance. PT853 of the Forum, State LOAN, has 1 handler for this service.

    Foregoing, we saw the listener in the Linux server machine only to listen to the PT853 service in Linux but not to listen to the service PT853_linux of the Windows XP client computer.

    Windows XP (192.168.196.101) and Linux (192.168.196.102) can ping each other successfully. So that client tools in Windows XP connection in Server database on Linux, the listener in Linux need to listen to on the service in Windows XP first.

    In Net Linux Manager, I add an address more (TCP/IP, 192.168.196.101, PORT 1521) to LISTENER_PT853, but gets the error.

    My question is:

    How have the Linux database server listener listen to the service in the Net of Windows XP Client Manager?

    Thanks in advance.

    Actually, no he didn't "need to create listner.ora.

    In fact, its problems stem from the fact that it * has * created one instead of letting some things by default.

    I give an example of my environment

    [oracle@home ~] $ cd /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/

    [oracle@home admin] $ cat listener.ora

    listener.ora # Network Configuration file: /home/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/network/admin/listener.ora

    (SERVICE_NAME = orcl.test.al)

    )

    )

    ADR_BASE_LISTENER = / home/oracle/app/oracle

    [oracle@home admin] $

    Change host, name of service depending on your environment. Your port is 1521.

    Then, first run all the listener and database startup. If you do the opposite, with that you will need to register the service change the order of system registry.

    Let me now if you need another sth
