How to connect to wireless internet?

I just reinstalled WinXP (2002 I think) from my (old) Dell Latitude D610 laptop installation disc.

I did it just to get rid of unnecessary and old programs that I didn't.
I remember I used to be able to connect to wireless internet, but my father, who once used this computer says he thinks that it has deleted the ability (?).
If I do
Control Panel > network connections >
There is nothing in the record that says wireless or LAN or it is supposed to say
In the lower right corner of the task bar, there is no symbol for it
If I do
My computer > properties > Device Manager >
There is no network card anywhere, but it has Ethernet controller, network controller, PCI Modem and PCI Simple Communications Controller all with '! ' for their icons.
In addition, there is no switch for the adapter to network/radio outside the computer.
I feel that this computer has maybe just need to be connected by a wire, but has no sense because it's a laptop and I don't remember having need to be wired previously

Thanks guys,.

I think I've fixed everything.
I got all the drivers I needed pcidatabase.com and installed all my without wire works, and so I need drivers for others.
Do you think that a computer of this old (7 years) is worth keeping?
I do not have access to newer computers, but it runs pretty quickly because it did downloaded to it. If this is the case, you think I should update in any way?
Once again, thank you for your help.
