You can not. You need to do this via the control panel / accounts of users or via the command prompt. In both cases, you need to be logged in as an administrator account.

If you have AN administrator account on your computer then the answer of Joel help at all.

You cannot change a user account Standard on an admin on another account Admin account (AFAIK)

    Try this:

Boot from your Windows repair disk (you DID make a?) and use system restore to set Windows to a point before it happened.

To create a new user profile

To create a new profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile will also be created.

    1. Open a user account by clicking on the button start , by clicking on the Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.

    2. Click on manage another account. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    3. Click on create a new account.

    4. Type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

To copy files to the new user profile

After creating the profile, you can copy the files from the existing profile. You must have at least three user accounts on the computer to perform these operations, including the new account that you created.

    1. Log on as a user other than the new user that you created or the user that you want to copy the files.

    2. Open Documents by clicking on the button start , and then clicking Documents.

    3. Click on the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.

If you don't see the Tools menu, press ALT.

    4. Click the view tab, click hidden files and folders, clear the Hide protected operating system files check box, and then click OK.

    5. Find the C:\Users\Old_Username folder, where C is the drive that Windows is installed, and where ancien_nom_utilisateur represents the name of the profile you want to copy the files to.

    6. Select all the files and folders in this folder, except the following files:

      • Ntuser.dat

      • Ntuser.dat.log

      • Ntuser.ini

    7. Click the Edit menu and then click on copy.

If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

    8. Look for the C:\Users\New_Username folder, where C represents the drive Windows is installed, and New_Username is the name of the new user profile you created.

    9. Click the Edit menu and then click on paste.

If you don't see the Edit menu, press ALT.

    10. Sign out and then sign back in as a new user.

If you have messages in e-mail, such as Windows Mail, you must import your e-mail messages and addresses to the new user profile before you delete the old profile. If everything is working properly, you can delete the old profile.

How do I move my files from one account to the other?

    Thank you.

    Hello

An ADMINISTRATOR account can access all folders and files on the computer.

Use start - computer or Windows Explorer to navigate to C:\Users account you
want-click right on the folders (or files) and COPY - go to another account
and PASTE it where you want. Repeat if necessary. Do not delete the folders and
files from the account, they are forward to be sure they are duplicated when you need
    them.

  • How to get back to the user account administrator privileges?

Original title: lost the privileges on the computer at home. How ca I get it back?

I am the only user on my home computer, using Windows 7 Professional. When you turn on the computer, always offered welcome my administrator screen and waited for a response and normal user accounts before continuing. Rarely need to log on as an administrator and have to go back to the computer just to press a button before it continued its long initialization has been frustrating. Want to remove the log on option user I did it via the Control Panel [don't know how, now!] so now I can turn it on and let it start in his own good time without further interaction from me, which is great.

What is not big, is that I lost all administrator privileges, then any time the area UAC appears asking if I want to continue with the program and I need to answer YES, it won't let me as the Yes box is grayed out.

The management of the computer control panel, I can get local users where I can see that my backup Administrator account is disabled. If I click on the box to reactivate the account, access is denied, so I can not turn on the account.

Help, please!  I would really think my administrator account to return once again, without having to turn off every time.

Thank you for your expertise in advance.

    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.

    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
  • How to force the display of user account control to run the scheduled task

I have User Account Control setting on notify me when a program wants to make changes to my computer (the recommended setting).

I created a scheduled task: create a restore point, using a software called Quick Restore Maker. User accounts in the program control screen comes up and stays on, ends by closes but ends the program. As I'm not at the computer when running task, I can't cancel the screen. The display ends by disappears, but the program itself does not run.

So the question is: How can I force screen UAC a program to run without changing the UAC universal computer settings that would allow any program to change my computer without any intervention from me?

    Thanks for your help.

There is no way around the need for approval of Admin indicated by the parameter of the UAC.

Reduce the level of UAC would be the only thing you can try, but I understand that this would not be a safe way to proceed for normal operation.

  • My admin user account disappeared when I added a new user and now I don't know how to access or modify my user accounts.

I have three accounts of users set up and we had to be the administrator account, but it changed to a standard user account and now I'm sunk.  I had changed the original admin user account to a standard user account, and then made a new admin user account.  I did this so I could spy on girl teenager without his knowledge so that I can be sure it is safe online with parental controls.  I used the new admin user account to set up parental controls.  The next morning, when I saw the new user account, he had transformed into a standard account and now I have no admin user account.  A thing pops up to tell me to put a password for admin (have no idea what it is that I've made a new) but in any case there is no place you can type into it if I had to guess even.  Now, I totally don't know what made my daughter and can not change anything with parental control.

  • How to transfer programs from a user account to a different user account

I want to transfer selective programs that appear in "All programs" from one user to another account

If you mean you want an entry in the start menu > all programs to switch from one account to another on the same computer, which is easy.  If you're talking about two different computers, you are unable to do so (you will need to uninstall one and reinstall on another using the original installation media).

WARNING: Some programs, such as Internet browsers, have "profiles" that are specific to each user.  If this is the kind of program you concerned, cannot move just the shortcut as described below.  If you are not sure, please identify what "selective programs" you want to move.

Change the content to start > all programs on two accounts on the same computer

It's easier if you have at least one account with "computer administrator" privileges  If you need to, you can use the built-in account named "Administrator".  The password of this account is blank (no password).  You can access the Safe Mode or - in XP Pro administrator only - from welcome with no other account connected screen by pressing twice CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

The key to this procedure is that the entries in the menu start > all programs are simply shortcuts that point to the actual location of the application executable files.  What follows is easier to do than to in order to explain them.

Suppose you want to move an entry of account A to account B on the same computer.

Assume that you are connected to the account A and that is a computer administrator account.

    • Click Start, and then select open
    • Double-click the folder programs
    • Scroll down the page until you find the program you are interested in or the folder in which it is located.

If the account is NOT a computer administrator account and you are connected to the place C account, who is an administrator (or administrator) account, replace the first stage with the following text:

    • Open a Windows Explorer window and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\\Start Menu, where is the name of the account, i.e., A

Now, open a new Windows Explorer window and navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\\Start Menu, where is the name of the other account, that is, B.

N-click-drag the element from the first window of Windows Explorer to another.
