How to disable an installation of Vista.

I have a retail copy of Vista Ultimate.  I recently updated my computer and a clean installed a copy retail of Windows 7 Professional, then the copy of Vista is more installed on any computer.  I would like to give the copy of Vista to a friend, as well as components for them to use the surplus to upgrade (motherboard, CPU, video card, RAM).  How can I disable my installation so that they use the license?  I've had this copy for a while now, and the last time I had to reinstall I had to call to activate it.  Will they be able to do the same thing?

Hi, Derigiberble,

You can transfer the license from one computer to another if it is a retail copy, and it is completely removed from the old pc.  Erase the hard drive.

The OEM licenses that come pre-installed on your computer are not eligible

  • How to get the Installation of Vista from Toshiba disk?

I work with Microsoft technical support to solve a security problem on my Satellite Pro A210 and were now required to use a Vista installation disc.

Microsoft says that I am entitled to an installation of the original provider of my kit disc - Toshiba. But we're not happened with my laptop - only a recovery disc has been provided.

How can I go on the acquisition of an installation of Vista from Toshiba disk?

    Kind regards

    Kevin C.

With Toshiba laptop, you'll get the Toshiba CD/DVD facilities only.
This recovery media is designed for your laptop only.

Installations from Microsoft Vista disc is not given and there is no way to get it from Toshiba.

Microsoft can offer that you support if you only use Microsoft installations CD. Using this disk, you can install and repair Vista on each portable office/computer option. Unfortunately with the restore disc it will not work.

  • How to disable aero peak in Vista?

Hi, I'm running vista on an old computer I (cannot afford the ridiculous price to put Windows 7 on my old systems) and I am trying to disable Aero Peak and I'm unable to find any documentation on how its done. I hope that someone here would be able to give me instructions (to a 6 year old child can understand it please) about how this is possible. Thanks for your help and looking forward to a response.

Technically, Vista has not "Aero Peek".  Glance itself, it's what has been added to Windows 7, where you can view full screen (at a glance) without changing entirely.

Instead, Vista has the taskbar thumbnails, and I guess that's what you're talking about really.

Fortunately, these are easy to change.  Simply right-click in your taskbar, go to properties and uncheck this box.

  • How to have the installation of vista OEM version on disc

My copy of windows vista license is provided with my laptop when I buy and it comes preinstalled (OEM) 2 years ago, I am now several errors that need an installation disc to repair. It depends of what error. You have not told us.

and what will happen to most of my installed programs?

And it depends on how you use the Setup CD. If you make a
repair the installation, this will not affect your installed programs. If you
do a clean install, you will lose everything on the
drive - installed programs, data, etc..

  • Satellite Pro A300 - how to access the installation of Vista hidden partition?

    AHOY!

    I have a Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDA 2000R

It had Windows Vista installed when I got it, but after a while, had to reformat, so I did, (I want to reformat my computer every 6-12 months on average), it came only with XP disks even if he got a serial number for Vista on the underside of the laptop so I installed XP. That was about 2-3 reformats there now.

However, so that finding drivers I've seen mention of a hidden partition to reinstall Vista (which I hope it is 64-bit) and tried to do this several times but unfortunately it does not work, I guess that maybe what XP installation I can accidentally deleted or something? (Thought they had in fact on some solid state memory which could not be written more or something.)

    * Is there a way I can access it, take another that won't cost a ridiculous amount (for example download) or a nice person enough to create an image to download on a site or something that I can download file sharing? *

I have also a spare copy of Vista (and a bit of XP) on the drive, none of them will work?

+ Another thing which I am interested in is can I get any of the preview of Windows 8 OS that will run on this laptop? Apparently it improved performance on Vista and W7 would be convenient for running on a laptop, and I have also heard say it is possible to upgrade to the full version of the preview or W7 for a minimal cost and would probably be much cheaper than other methods if possible. +

And I'm actually quite handy with computers, so don't be afraid to throw big words at me,

(Tried the methods found on the manual on page 3-8 ([link: http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/computers/satellite/pro/a300/psagda-02000r/download?os=22]).)

I have European A300 and I believe that the principle on the rest of the same models.
A300 was offered with Vista preinstalled but without recovery disc Vista. Image that contains the operating system, drivers, tools and utilities for recovery has been saved on the HARD drive and with book factory owner was able to begin the installation of HARD drive recovery. It works with the factory only settings.

With preinstalled Toshiba laptop recovery disk creator owners have been able to create the recovery disk that can be used if the disk HARD recovery doesn't work anymore.
If you don t have access to this image saved on HARD drive recovery, you must use the recovery disc. If you don t have the disc that you have a problem. Recovery image can not be downloaded. All you can download are the unique rivers, tools and utilities that you can use if you install a clean version of the OS (operating system).
On the European models, recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder called HDDrecovery.

Anyway, A300 works with Win7 32 bit. I installed it on my machine and I m very happy with it.
    > Another thing which I am interested in is can I get any of the preview of Windows 8 OS that will run on this laptop?
I put t know who should give you this overview, but the fact is that you get it from Toshiba. You should check if you can get it in another way.

  • How big a new installation of Vista can be?

    Hello!

I got vista home preimum since a few years ago, I bought the computer. My C drive at that time had been 33 GB and I got loads of programs installed including the images and music and so on. After all these years, the hard drive kept filling so I plan to do a new install.

This time, I made a partition more than 55 GB to the C drive. After a clean install of windows SP1 and SP2, it takes a huge 33 GB.  I wonder how is this possible and what should I do to clean space as I still install to another required softwar. Most important question yet, that is, is it possible for windows vista be as large as that?

  • Disable the UAC in VISTA window

    Hello

How to disable UAC in Windows Vista using LabVIEW Control window?

I did this VI (see attached). This VI works, if I have manually disabled the UAC window (regedit: "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System - EnableLUA = 0 [DWORD]) of the control panel or regedit.

If I run my VI on a computer that has ON UAC, I can't open the registry key. Although, if I manually go to regedit and
change the variable windows EnableLUA to zero and restart the computer.
Then, I'll be able to control this LabVIEW registry key.

    Is
It's kind around to disable UAC only with LabVIEW. This means,
is it possible to change the EnableLUA variable Windows when I
    previously, I have UAC running?

    Thank you

    Hi JPLO,

If you run your VI as long as limited or in admin approval mode user, I expect not to be able to disable admin approval mode. Try right-clicking on the LabVIEW icon in the Start Menu and select "run as Administrator" and then run your VI.

  • Suspended at the end of the installation of Vista (pre SP1) - Sata drive problem - how do we install?

Hi, my Dell Studio Hybrid desktop is hang on installation (new installation on a formatted hard drive) from Vista to the installation step ends.  After much research it seems that it is a matter of pre Vista SP1 associated with SATA drive/drivers.  Installation crashes because the computer is looking for a driver on the CD-ROM that is not there.  Anyway I don't see a driver relavent in the cross-section of the hybrid (another computer have drivers under the SATA drives) and if I did I don't know when to add it (load the section of the driver during the installation process?).  Any help on this topic and how to proceed with the installation of vista would be much appreciated since I just lost my weekend to this.

    Hello

You are right that there is no drivers sata on your computer because you don't have that one hard drive go in the bios as described here .and put AHCI to IDE

    Integrated Peripherals

Allows you to enable or disable these integrated devices: HD Audio, Onboard LAN connector, Onboard LAN Boot ROMand side logo. Serial ATA Configuration can be set in IDE or AHCI mode.

then install your version of windows you should have no problem now.

    Good luck

  • Could not access Console in Fallout 3 in Windows Vista... How to disable MIRC?

I bought the game Fallout 3 a few weeks ago and has recently wanted to access the game console command line, but the game does not recognize the support of the tilde (~) key.  I spent many hours trying to figure out why this is the case, and I got three main answers:

    1. change the size of the screen that you can 'see' the console command line.  The size of my screen was already the right size, and it has not resolved the question of 'recognition of tilde.

    2. find Fallout Notepad, locate the line AllowConsole = x (where x represents a number any) and change x 1.  I found the notebook and the line, but the value was already "AllowConsole = 1".  I changed the number 0 and then back to 1, to see if that would be 'reset', but still no use of the tilde in the game key.

3 turn off the infrared remote Microsoft (MIRC) in the eHome folder.  It is the recommendation given to me by the works of Bethesda, the company that produced of Fallout 3.  However, when I asked what particular file searching (there nothing specifically named "infrared" whatever it is, nor do any application with a name sounding similar open when I clicked it), I was given the same two paragraphs already listed on the site Web of Bethesda, if there is no progress.

My question is this; How find/disable the MIRC involved with the Windows Media Center/eHome?  OR... there at - it another method to allow recognition of the tilde key (~) so that in games like Fallout 3?  Because he was such a topic posted on other forums by users of Vista (on laptops, for the most part), I hope there are a few out there who have faced this problem before, and have a solution.  I run with a laptop Asus M51 series with Windows Vista, if that helps at all.  Any comments would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello YoungSolshee,

In addition to what Jack said, when you press the tilde key, you hold the SHIFT key also.  Most of the time that the cheat console will not work unless you enter in the ~ symbol and not only hit / press.

  • How to disable the drop-in by a "standard user" in Windows Vista

I use Windows Vista and I have a standard user account. The Welcome Center appears each time I have windows to connect.  I uncheck the box in the lower left corner in the visitor centre, but it does not work.  He always keeps showing upwards. Also, I try to use regedit to remove the entry in the race, but surprisingly I was not allowed to delete the entry because I'm a standard user. So please tell me how to disable the reception centre for a standard user.

    Thank you very much.
    Jacky

    Hello Jackyhn,

You can make a registry change using the following key:

Method 1: Go to the Windows Vista registry editor

To disable Windows Vista Welcome Center with editing the registry:

    • Type regedit in Windows Vista start menu search box.
    • Highlight:
    • HKEY_CURRENT_USER, Software > Microsoft > Windows > CurrentVersion, Run.
    • Right-click on the WindowsWelcomeCenter key and select Delete.
      Reboot your system.

Change the settings of the REGISTRY can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the REGISTRY settings configuration can be solved. Changes to these settings are at your own risk.

If please reply back and let us know if this suggestion has helped.

    Sincerely,

    Marilyn
