How to find large file sizes?

I tried to use the search and advanced search, looking for large files on a drive that has 64 GB of information.
But when I search using the size is greater then > any number, nothing is found.  I'm looking for c drive and selected and check include not indexed, hidden and system files.  Results are the same "no match points get you.

I can't believe how it is difficult to find large files with the VISTA operating system, wasted hours.   I got just what he must find what is using 64 GB of disk space.

The OS is Vista business with SP1 is installed.

Thanksor comment.

You probably forgot to include the 'size' or an indicator of size KB:

  • How to handle large files (3 gb +) in photoshop

I started the creation of 3 GB + files in photoshop CS2 and my computer takes 3 minutes to open and 10 minutes to record, etc. - drives me crazy with delays. My system (duo core 3,166 mhz, motherboard ASUS P5K SE/EPU, 4 GB Kingston DDR2 800 RAM, videocard Quadro FX540) is doing well with 300 MB of files, but not with them.

Recently I moved my OS to Windows 7 Professional 64 - bit in the hope that things would improve, but any change was marginal.

The files are designs multi-layer, 150 dpi, about 16 feet by 10 feet and 1.8 GB flattened when they are printed.

While I know that the designs are pushing the limits and restrictions of photoshop I would appreciate any opinions of members who have figured out how to handle large files. Any suggestions welcomed, if the upgrades of hardware/software, photoshop tips (but the dpi and size cannot be changed), etc.

CS2 works on Win7? You run in virtual XP mode?

I noticed that the flat size is 1.8 G are you save in tiff or psd? If tiff, move on to the DSP. Records room and should open more quickly. At least this is my experience.

  • To find the file size using swf header... Please

    Hi all

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to find the size of the file in the swf header. I'm looking at the pdf to swf file format spec v10 and it indicates that this field " ""the FileLength is the total length of the SWF file, including the header. If it is a

size. In the case of a file compressed SWF (signature of the CFS), FileLength field indicates the total

Only problem is that I can't find it.

  • CMD Prompt to find large files

I have a few computers in my workspace that are real woorkhorses.  I noticed one is a bit more of 2/3 full on HARD drive.  I kinda think that some users have very large files somewhere and I want to identify who and what they are in size.  Can someone give me the DOS command prompt commands to help me identify these miscreants?

There is a script PowerShell here: http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/scriptcenter/36bf0988-867f-45be-92c0-f9b24bd766fb

You may be able to modify it to your application. There's something similar here:http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2009/08/19/hey-scripting-guy-can-i-determine-which-folders-are-using-the-most-space-on-my-computer.aspx you could put your script on a flash drive and consider from one computer to another to run from PowerShell. You must change the options of default PowerShell on each computer to allow scripts to run.

From the command prompt, use dir/s/s / p for a list in ascending order.

For the descent of the command dir/s/o:-s / p

  • Reinstalled Vista on my Gateway computer. There are 2 users, how to find the files saved by Windows before reinstalling?

My C drive was blue screens so that I couldn't get into my computer and it became useless. I'm a total computer not so smart person, (politically correct too) :) In any case, after finding how to get in safe mode and fishing around a solution, I got the solution from scratch. It was April, which should give you an idea how well informed, I am when it comes to such things.

So I took the option that would save all user files before reinstaling the operating system which is original bought the 2008 version. Vista 32-bit. Yes I know it's old but it works again. So since then I tried to get it updated and secure. Gateway won't help me at all, of course, out of warranty and all. So I downloaded the service Pack 1 and 2 for vista and all the security updates and Microsoft security essentials and IE9. So now I'm finally back to normal, which I think is a relative term.

So now, I want to find all the files of the user who have been registered by windows before the reinstall took place. My folders and files from my sister. Treatment of text and pictures and stuff.

Once I found how to make their return to where I am and where it is?

    You are welcome.

Unfortunately, you have not yet told how you have saved the files.

If you used the Auromatic backup gateway, they say that the files are in the C:\Backup folder on the hard drive.

You will need to open that folder and either copy and paste or drag and drop them where you want them to be.

It's a question you'd have to ask Gateway:

    http://support.gateway.com/support/ask_gateway.aspx

    .

If you sustained yourself using Vista DVD files or an external hard drive, is how do to the files from the point upwards.

a Microsoft tech told me to delete the prefetch as a maintenance procedure occasionally.

I can't find prefetch files using win 8. If anyone can help with how to search for prefetch files?

    Thanks, Newbie Mel

    Hello

The Prefetch files should not be deleted. This will slow down the normal operations.

When you use the computer, the prefetch files are created for the programs that you use normally the most. This allows these programs to load faster.

If you delete the files prefetch, the system must then start over again and recreate the files that you are using the computer.

The Prefetch files are located in the C:\Windows\Prefetch folder. They are data files and are not human readable.

    I had a video that I got from someone in 1080 p (mp4) and it was 7MB

Then I changed it to 480 p (mp4) and then it was 9MB

How do I make the file size my most small?

It is the only way to reduce the rate of export data.

    Data rate determines the quality!

9 MB for 20 seconds is already very low.

  • Exported images are of large file size, but the small screen

Something has changed in my export settings, and I can't understand it.  If I insert a file into any application (i.e. PowerPoint, Word, Publisher) that I exported to LR5.7 before last week, the end images (image of female left) look if I export a new image, the file size is large (10 MB), but when I insert into any application, the image itself is extremely low (male right image). I know that's not the image itself, because I've tried it with images that have worked in the past which has worked and now have the same issue. If I try with resize in the image program itself just gets very distorted and pixelated. Any thoughts on what is wrong or what I screwed. I've also included a picture of my LR export window

Maybe Word etc read the 5000 pixels per inch setting in the exported file and timing of small file in the application.  Change to 200 or something and see what happens.  This has not test so it is maybe not the right direction to solve the problem.
