  You can always search within those, but you need to add extensions to the file system so that it knows to look inside these files.  You said that you have a lot, so it's perhaps tedious.  Here's How to search within several types of files.

  One thing you could try is rather to make a copy of this file, rename all the files to the same extension (even an extension false for example something.bill) and perform your search on this band.  Just an idea.

  2. the F_ApiFind ("ABC") API returns the F_TextRangeT structure.
  3. the string "ABC" has been highlighted on the document.
  
  Here's my question:
  How can I write code to locate an object ID paragraph (pgfId) that contains the string (or object) 'ABC '?.
  As the 'ABC' object belongs to the current paragraph, how can I get section ID (pgfId) and then get the content of the entire paragraph
  without a loop through FP_FirstFlowInDoc, FP_FirstTextFrameInFlow, FP_FirstPgf and FP_NextPgfInFlow.

  Paragraph ID is returned as part of the structure of F_TextRangeT, as the Member "objId". Let's say you have:

  F_TextRangeT tr;

  ... then:

  TR = F_ApiFind (...);

  On an action to search with success, "tr" will contain the pgfId of the paragraph. I'm assuming you're looking for a string that is entirely contained in a paragraph, in which case two ways contains the ID of the paragraph:

  tr.beg.objId

  TR.end objId

  If you want to retrieve all the text in the paragraph after the search, you could do something like: (attention, incomplete code!)

  F_TextItemsT ti;

  F_TextRangeT tr;

  F_ObjHandleT docId.

  ...

  TR = F_ApiFind (...);

  TR. Beg.offset = 0;

  TR.end.Offset = FV_OBJ_END_OFFSET;

  TI = F_ApiGetTextForRange (docId, & b, FTI_String);

  .. After that the text of the paragraph will be included in the ti TextItems structure. Navigate through this structure can be difficult and I will renounce any discussion about it for now unless you need more help. There is good information in the developer reference as to its use.

  Just off the top of my head, here are a few concerns with the not not using UIMessages:

  2. The engine does not know this information, and view of execution manager knows that the information for the current execution it is linked to (which changes throughout the life of a series of tests).  Basically, recall of front end, model, and other factors may spawn short executions briefly related to the Manager view of execution.  So if you take the context of the sequence of the current run is perhaps not the right one.
  
  
  3. Writing a user interface will be couple the user interface to your specific sequence file.  At this point, you can use the network variables or global variables or global queues as well.  It might even be better options.

  The situation you describe is exactly why the UIMessages were created.  Maybe you can help me understand why you are set on the use of pointers, you already have?  There might be a better solution for your case if I'm misunderstanding you.
