HP Envy 15 t-j100: HP Envy 15 t-j100 card system

Hi all!

Recently, I brought my laptop looked at / repaired. The local technician told me that my laptop computer motherboard is dead because of the updates of Windows 10 does not well with my old operating system to Windows 7 (originally, my laptop has Windows 7 Home, last July I have upgraded to Windows 10). I started looking for a new replacement system card, however I have a few questions. I watched the maintenance manual for my laptop and can not know what card replacement system is adequate or what they all say. The serial number of my current motherboard in my laptop is 720566-001. I googled this number system and keep find results with 720566-501 and 720566-001 in the title for the same motherboard. Most of the advice I find on eBay also have a number like 720566-501. My question is this: will I be able to use a map of system 720566-501 to replace my current 720566-001 motherboard?

Additional details:

-12 GB OF RAM

-Intel I7 2.2 Ghz processor

Tough - 1 TB SATA disk

-GeForce graphics card (not sure what type)

I have a HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Quad Edition running Windows 7. His card reader does not work. When I insert an SD card, I get a message that the device is not installed correctly. Windows prompts you to update me the driver, so I let him, but he can't find the driver. In devices with SD card inserted, Manager it shows a symbol in the "Other devices" section "hard drive"with a yellow "!"  The State of the device reads:

"The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)

To find a driver for this device, click Update driver. »

I tried to update the driver from there, but still no driver is reported to be found.

Furthermore, Device Manager indicates that the Realtek PCIE card reader works properly. I updated the driver using sp66065.exe, but there is no difference. The card reader is still not read, nor is it a drive letter appear to the inserted card.

If I disable the Realtek PCIE card reader, then the "other devices" "Hard drive" in the Device Manager goes. But the card reader does not work as long. If I activate the card reader, the same error comes back with a yellow '! ' under 'other devices' "Hard drive" in the Device Manager.

Could you please tell me how to resolve this situation? Thank you in advance!

    You are the very welcome!

Oh... It's big, happy that the problem was solved after recovery

It would very probably be updates of Windows.

Try to create a system restore manually each time before performing any installation of update or something important. You can restore to a previous restore points you have created, if a problem occurs after an update.
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/697-system-restore-point-create.html

You can also create a shortcut to a button in your office so that you can easily create manual restore - Option 1 point in the following tutorial:
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/494-system-restore-point-shortcut.html

    System Restore: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html

I would also change the Windows Manual Automatic Update settings.
This must be done in the HP support assistant program too - its control panel.

    I hope this helps.

    Hello

I can't calrify that because it's a CTO machine and did you pay for the NVIDIA card option when ordering the machine? Pilot is on the site of support, sound as material is not on your machine.

If no physical hardwre, 10 Windows cannot do anything about it. Now, my suggestion: talk to the place where you place your order and ask to give a COMPLETE listing of your computer. Part store lists only the options, not your machine.

    • I recommend you update the BIOS by using the tool HP Support assistant or the HP website.

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 15-j078ca - sound card problems

    Hello!

I have a HP Envy 15-j078ca running windows 8.1 touchsmart and, recently, I noticed that my audio is static/crackling noises. A test, I plugged my head phones to see if it was a speaker problem or a problem of sound card and audio in my headphones was also static noises.

Some of my audio programs tell me that it is a sound card problem.

What I did: I followed the advice on another thread that had me uninstall the drivers and hand it to reset my bios settings can have my drivers to reinstall but I found that my audio worked perfectly! ... for about 2 hours then my cell phone was dead silent so I got this back a few days and the audio was fine again... for a few hours before he began to do staic noises again.

  • HP Envy 17-j141na: recovering a system after 'repair '.

I recently had a hardware failure on my laptop and my backup data and sent it for repair

The only repair option that was given to me is to erase completely and factory to restore the operating system. In fact, what did the repair people has been remove my drive and replace it with a new vacuum waiting to be set up with Windows 8.

Of course, I want to go back to the situation where I have a viable version of my laptop and apparently the only option I have to do is to re - install all software! (I think that 'like', which could take days, I'll have to contact all by software publishers to bring them to re-license a lot of £1000 of software I have on there it will break and I'll have to do it again!)

So I turned off the screen install Windows 8 and completely (and I mean completely) the laptop brick. When it turns on it flashes the caps lock and will not work even BIOS recovery, ignores F10, F2 etc.

I contact support, and they are absolutely insistent, that I'm going to need all reinstall. So I was wondering if anyone knows what is happening.

The system is built around UEFI?

The system has been improved in the UEFI?

I'll be able to go in the installation process of Windows 8, upgrading to 10 and then switch to my old drive?

I will be able to configure the system as Windows 8 and then put in place so that I can dual boot from my old drive?

If I put all this from scratch what steps should I take to avoid this recurring situation.

I am also concerned by what happened to my old drive that came with the laptop. HP support assure me that they treat all the personal in compliance data consider but not have given me any indication whether if the drive that was removed has been removed safely (wipes x 35 times) and reformatted or destroyed. So if it's wrong, yet once I need to find how to partition the data on the laptop, so I can send it without composed of my personal data.

So, am a feeling that I have a laptop that I can not put the data of a personal nature, I can't use it for this purpose, I bought it to left (i.e. to install my software companies and lead by the activities of work at home) and now is just a really expensive browser?

Appreciated by any reflection on a way forward.

    Hello @elcockh,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I read your message and understand that your HP Envy 17-j141na does not work correctly. I have studied the issue and have developed a possible resolution. First of all, please perform a reset. Once this is done, please follow the steps described in this document:

Computers laptops HP - computer won't start (Windows 8)

The system is built around UEFI?

The system has been improved in the UEFI?

The system has UEFI functionality in the BIOS, allowing it to have secure boot and other features.

If you succeed in installing windows 8, and then upgrade to windows 10; then want to install your old drive and it is still in working condition, you can trade. I suggest you perform a clean Windows 10 installation. If you are able to install the old drive in accordance with the specifications of the maintenance and service guide and know how to set up a dual boot and the old drive is in working order, then you can dualboot. The best things to do to avoid that the faulty laptop is to reduce heat and make sure it is updated and perform regular maintenance.

Tips to use, carry and protect your laptop from HP

HP Notebook PC - cleanup your PC laptop

HP computers - tune (Windows 8) slow system performance

HP computers - create a recovery Image on disc or save a recovery Image on a USB Flash drive

If the document does not have you helped to solve the problem, try to restore the BIOS.

Thanks, I look forward to your response with the result.

  • HP Envy 700-074 Graphics Card problem Windows 8

    Greetings,

    I recently bought the HP ENVY 700-074 (http://http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us & dlc = in & lang = to & lc = in & product = 5371495).

Initial setup went fine without any problem.  I replaced the power supply so that I could add the graphics card from my old computer.  The power supply and graphics card worked perfectly for my old computer.  Feeding is a BFG Tech GX 550 watt modular power supply series.  The graphics card, I have installed is the Nvidia 560ti.

The problem is that, when I start the computer, my screen goes to sleep (as there is no signal) until the login Windows 8 screen lights up. At this time, my screen lights up and it is normally.  However, if updates or restarts the computer, the screen turns off again and he returned sometimes when loading the desktop computer.  I tried to get into the BIOS to see if I could disable the onboard graphics, but I have been unable to access BIOS because I don't see anything on the screen during startup.  I removed the Nvidia card and returned to the use of the integrated graphics card and everything is back to normal.  I managed to enter the BIOS at the time here, but I don't see any possibility to disable the integrated graphics card or use the PCIe as main display (unless I missed something).

I also noticed that Windows 8 shows I have 2 screens installed when only 1 is installed physiclaly.  My HP (HP 2009 m) monitor is listed in Monitor 2 and I initially had to go through the windows to get my HP Monitor to display the entire desktop (as it origionally extended from the start, the desktop computer).  However, number of monitor 1 is listed as monitor of generic cards.  Thinking that the computer used the non-existent monitor like main display when starting, I deleted the generic monitor than to have to reinstall windows.  I also tried to disable, but the problem persists.

I guess that there is a conflict between the integrated graphics card and the Nvidia card.  However, I assumed that the edge will be disabled automatically after inserting a card into the PCIe slot as the integrated graphics card watch is no longer under device mananger.

    Hello:

Have you changed the settings of the BIOS 2 (required) before installing the video card no HP?

  • TouchSmart HP Envy 15-J104sa memory card reader does not

I took delivery of a HP Touchsmart from Envy 15 - J104sa, running Windows 8.1 this week and the internal memory card reader does not work. It does not recognize SD cards (I tried more than one) and continues as if nothing has been inserted; Don't display an error message. The cards work on my previous HP laptop. The only way to get the laptop to show an inserted SD card is to run the driver software update (http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63001-63500/sp63415.exe) whenever an SD card is inserted; This must be done with the card in the reader. If the software is running and then the card nothing happens. If the card is ejected and then re-inserted (or a new card inserted) it is not recognized and the process must be restarted and the driver reinstalled even though nothing has changed.

Can someone please help me with this question or I'll have to go back to the HP laptop. I do a lot of photography so being able to read fast and reliable SD card is extremely important for me; It is not a problem, I was expecting a new laptop all right out of the box.

    Thanks to you all.

Unfortunately not, updates of driver solves the problem, but an update of the BIOS through the HP helper application seems to have resolved the issue. While I appreciate there were not specific drivers available in my opinion, it is difficult to accept that HP should be able to release a model where they know the equipment are not fully supported by the operating system and in this case does not work.

  • HP Envy 700-327c: graphics card on HP Envy 700-327c update

I just bought and am preparing to install an AMD over-pants W7000 C2K00AT 4 GB GDDR5 SDRAM PCI Express 3.0 x 16 ATI Nvidia Quadro graphics in my HP Envy 700 - 327 c.  Any input as to what I can do to make this a free update of the problem?

    You are welcome.

I would like to do some research before buying a power supply.  You may need more power than I recommended.  It says in the specs it uses less than 150W, but even more than the current PSU can provide with other components.

I'd certainly appreciate hearing how things are going.

    Hello

Unfortunately, the nvidia gpu is integrated with the system board and is not an evolutionary element.

Your laptop will support a maximum of 16 GB of ram (2 x 8 GB modules) - you can find an example of an upgrade on the following link.

  • HP ENVY 137C 750: GTX 1070 for HP ENVY 750-137C graphics card upgrade

I picked up a refurbished HP ENVY 750-137c and am currently looking to improve the graphics. I don't want to break the Bank, but I don't want it to last me a while, I'm looking at the Nvidia GEFORCE GTX 1070.

Apart from the evolution of the needs of power, does anyone know if this card is compatible, and if there are problems with this upgrade? In addition, Nvidia recommends a diet of 500W for this card. Would be - it sufficient, or is - this genrous number? In addition, if someone has a product of power supply they would recommend for this theoretical combination, I'd greatly appreciate advice.

    Thank you!

    @Drifterx311, welcome to the forum.

Here are the full specifications of the card on the nVidia website.  The card is double slot and 10.5 "long.  I suggest measurement of the back plate of e/s to the front of the box to see how much space is available.  I think it fits, but it will be tight.

As you said, the specs recommend a PSU 500W (PSU).  Personally, I'd buy one at least 600 w.  This will give you extra power for peak needs.  I love Corsair products.  Here are a few PSU for you to review Newegg.  If you choose a modular power supply it will allow you to install only the cables that are absolutely necessary.  This allows for better air circulation.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer.  Read the reviews to see what users have to say about them.  A good diet will make your system run much better.

  • Envy 14 K110nr: Cannot recover system recovery media, associated with PININST_BBV

I have a HP Evny 14 K110nr. In short, the system upgraded to Windows 10, started acting weird about a month after:
Lose access to resources (Task Manager, desktop, Control Panel, etc.)
Defective devices (wifi, bluetooth, etc.), suspended connections, System Restore gave a lot of mistakes.

Tried to fix the system, nothing worked (even the DISM restorhealth was not working and suspended 40%)

Long story short, I tried to recover the hd partition and could not complete successfully, same thing happened with my recovery media.

At the end of the recovery attempt, I get a BSOD and system resets. It was a loop like that for awhile.

Ran Diagnostics, no errors, but I suspect it was the HARD drive as the mentioned system errors on it before the collapse.

I replaced the HARD drive and started the process again, this time I have not received any BSOD, but after completitng, I get a message saying that the recovery was incomplete. Just now my system is a Clipboard and consider Ubuntu if I can't up the widows, but it makes no sense. I read through several threads that referred to this issue and I don't know if I've seen any absolute solution to this issue (none have worked for me so far). Here are a few:
