How to get videos to play in my window Photo Gallery
I just transferred some home movies of my ipod in my windows photo gallery, when I click on them, they will not play. How can I get the videos to play?
Maybe the video is in a format that is not supported.

Windows Photo Gallery. How can I change the settings in the Windows Photo Gallery to automatically open the image without going to the index first?
Additional information: there are 2 computers that I use on the first Gallery Photo of Windows will open the image and allow me to use the left and right buttons to scroll through the rest of the photos in the folder, that's what I want.
On the 2nd computer when I open an image it will open the Windows Photo Gallery in an index with thumbnails of the displayed record. How can I change so that it opens the same thing as the first computer?
I did the following on both computers; Right-click on the image and select open with...--> choose the default program--> go--> Program Files, Windows Photo Gallery, but it will be open always differently on computer 2.
Both computers use Windows Vista 32-bit.

This would happen if the file associations are corrupted on the computer, try method to set Photo Gallery Windows as the default program for opening files jpeg or png below image types.
(a) open default programs by clicking the Start button, click default programs.
(b) click on associate a type of file or Protocol with a program
(c) in the following list of file protocol search jpeg and make sure that you have associated with the program that uses it and then check if it works.

Nikon d5100 video won't import in Windows Photo Gallery
I've recently upgraded to a Nikon D5100 to the D5000. I had no problem at all to import photos and videos from the D5000. However, only the photos import to Windows Photo Gallery... and the videos are not! I've tried everything I can think of and nothing will work. Windows Photo Gallery is not compatible with this device? Are the videos of the D5100, another type of file than the D5000? Help! Thank you! ;)

I tried to download a program of online conversion, but it is very confusing and I'm getting nowhere. I liked my D5000 and I'm so darn frustrated with my D5100 at this stage. I just want to be able to download the video so that I can use it. Ugh! What do you recommend I do? I need to convert all the videos so I can use it... and you know a good conversion site?

I would like to know the following information to help focus in the right direction.
a. don't you make changes to the computer before this problem?
b. don't you make changes to the windows photo gallery settings?
c. What is the exact error message and error code?
d. you are able to see other images saved on the computer with no problems?
e. What is the file format of the photos or videos?
If you have a third party photo editing software, try removing it and see if that will help.
Note: Please try this step only if you can recover the program.
Gallery Photo will show images with any of these file types:
· BMP, JPEG, JFIF, TIFF, PNG, WDP
If Windows Movie Maker is installed, photo library will also play videos in these types of files:
· ASF, AVI, MPEG, WMV.
If you view files, that are other than the files listed above, you will need to convert them to the format mentioned above.
