How to import the selected tables from MySQL to Oracle

Hello world:

How can I import tables from MySQL to Oracle? I have more than 180 tables in my DB (MySQL), but I copy only 12 of them to ORACLE... rigth now I do it manually, using SQL Developer (rigth clicking on the picture icon and copy to Oracle) but now I need to do this automatically every 4 hours...

I read on the dblink option, but I don't know if this is the best for this case...

I appreciate all help.

Best regards
Jack

Hi Jack,

I think that with a db-link you can define an automated task (PL/SQL + programmer).
We use a db-link to Oracle's RDBMS to MySQL. So we have no experience.
We have created the db-link like http://www.pythian.com/news/1554/how-to-access-mysql-from-oracle-with-odbc-and-sql/

Define "replicate".

If you have no budget, you can open a connection directly from SQL Server to Oracle, or vice versa. In Oracle, they are called links DB; in SQL Server, they are called "linked servers".

Datanamic also have tools that claim to do the cross-DB replication. I have no experience with them and is not an endorsement - I know they exist.

Hello. I'm still a beginner and still regularly to seek help from the experts.
But I do not have an alternative to the import and export Access tables with Oracle 10 G Ex.
PS - I am running Windows XP.

It is set up as an ODBC source Oracle.

The notice must be in 2 parts.

REM - start the Oracle database

1 - set up the ODBC connection.

2 export Access table in Oracle and import an Oracle table in Access.

1 - setting up the ODBC:

Open:

Control Panel
Administration tools
Data sources (ODBC)

You will see then 7 tabs.
I used the first "User DSN" tab

In this tab, click 'Add '.

In the drop-down list, select "Oracle XE', which is at the bottom of the list. Click on "Finish".

You will then go into the Configuration of the ODBC Oracle driver.

You will be asked for a "Data Source name".
Type in what whether, for example G ex as long as you don't forget what you call the 'Data Source'.
The name of G EX later appears when you start using the ODBC connection.

Description is optional.

The TNS service name is a drop-down list. Select XE

User ID. Enter the user name of the Oracle user to establish the connection.
Don't forget that the user must have been granted connect and privileges of the resource.

Next step is to "test connection".

You should get a box that says "successful" etc...

There are other tabs and drop down menus at the bottom of Oracle configuration. Pilot, but leave these as default and can be changed at a later date.

You should see your newly created ODBC 'G EX' connection on the user DSN tab.

Close the Admin Tools screen and Control Panel.

2. move the table Access.

You can use ODBC to Access tables to export in Oracle and Oracle Import tables in Access.

The two will be in Access by using the tables import/link or export.

Imports and exports follow the same path.

For example. Export Access table to Oracle.

In Access go to the display of tables and right-click on the table that you want to export.

Select export and enregistrer save as Type, select ODBC databases in the drop-down list. (bottom)

Click Ok.

You will then get a screen "Select data Source".

Choose the tab 'Data Source Machine', and you should see your named data source. (EX G)

Select it and click OK.

The service name must say XE

Enter the Oracle user name and the password of the user with connect and resources.

It should then be exported.
Reverse the import process.

Tips for Access tables.

Oracle likes the names of tables and fields in capital letters. He doesn't like spaces in domain names.
You may need to export the tables to one another access empty db to rename the table and or fields before exporting to Oracle.

I hope this helps...

• DVT:pivotFilterBar - how to get the selected values of the filter

Hi all

I have a question: how to get the selected values from the pivot table filter bar programmatically?

I tried to use
pivotTable.getDataModel().getDataAccess().getValueQDR(startRow, startCol, DataAccess.QDR_WITH_PAGE);
but to the edge of the side DATA INCORRECTESdeclarations page, it seems that it will return the cached values.

Environment: JDev 11.1.1.3.0 without tasks.

Thank you
Miroslaw

Hello

You can retrieve the value selected in the PivotFilterBar through the PivotFilterBar model, instead of dataaccess:

Download the template of the bar pivot filter instance
QueryDescriptior queryDescriptor = (QueryDescriptor) pivotFilterBar.getValue ();

retrieve a list of criterion, each of them is used to fill each lov in the pivot filter bar
ConjunctionCriterion conjunctionCriterion = queryDescriptor.getConjunctionCriterion ();
List criterionList = conjunctionCriterion.getCriterionList ();
for (int i = 0; i)<_criterionList.size(); i++)="">
AttributeCriterion = (AttributeCriterion) criterionList.get (i) criterion.

_selected is the currently selected value
Selected object = criterion.getValues () .get (0);

System.out.println (_selected);
}

Hope that helps,
Chadwick

• Migration from MySQL to Oracle SQL does not

Hello everyone,

I am new to Oracle SQL, but since our MySQL database is more and get more slowly, I would like to test the performance of Oracle SQL.

So, I downloaded the current Oracle Linux distro and installed Oracle Database 11 g Express Edition.

I connected with Oracle SQL Developer and started to migrate the MySQL database by following each step of this tutorial.

I had to abandon all the privileges of the user migration (otherwise the creation and the deleteion of the migration repository did not) and I have disabled the migration of constraints to make migration work.

Then I proceeded through all of the steps of the tutorial and ended with a "successful migration.

The last step of the tutorial, it was to connect to the db migrated (using a combination of username/password generated name), it was not possible.

What do I already checked?

• Logged on as user system, I see that there is no new user created for the migrated db
• Looking at the overview in the migration repository I see 3 phases, not knowing if the third displays an error or if it is not necessary at all (I got 58 tables in the db of the source)
• Capture of 58/58
• Convert 58/58
• Compile 0/58

From here, I don't know where to look for additional errors.

I still can't use the migrated db and so I can't go forward with my tests.

I missed something?

I would appreciate your help.

Astaldo

Astaldo salvation,

First, you must use SQL Developer 4.0.2 If you aren't already. It is available for free on OTN

http://www.Oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/SQL-Developer/downloads/index-098778.html

There are two ways to convert tables from MySQL to Oracle.

1) copy to Oracle

(2) migration to Oracle.

Copy to Oracle is the simplest method. It does not imply the creation of a repository of migration. But it only migrates data without constraints or default values or indexes and tables. The set of data to move should be reasonably low as it is moved on JDBC.

It may suit your purpose to try to Oracle.

http://dermotoneill.blogspot.co.UK/2010/11/copy-to-Oracle.html

Migrate Oracle requires the implementation of a migration repository. But he migrate the default settings, constraints, and indexes and can also provide scripts offline data move that can manage the circulation of large data sets.

Here is a small script to create a new MIGRATIONREPO user, and grant the correct privileges.

CREATE USER MIGRATIONREPO IDENTIFIED BY oracle.

ALTER USER MIGRATIONREPO QUOTA UNLIMITED ON USERS;

GRANT CONNECT, RESOURCE, CREATE VIEW, CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW to MIGRATIONREPO;

Then using SQL Developer, create a connection to MIGRATIONREPO, right-click on the connection and choose "associate the Migration repository.

I hope you have success best creation of migration with the privileges of theses repository.

Migration Wizard step 8: target database

Choose Offline Mode.

This will present you with a build script that you can inspect before the race.

The build script must be run using the SQL Developer worksheet and choose free user sufficiently privileged in Oracle generally SYSTEM.

Note that if you would rather work with the repository you must currently you can browse your browser of Migration.

Access converted database objects, right-click and select "generate the target".

This will again open the Migration Wizard in step 8. Allowing you to choose Offline Mode so that you can review the build script.

Hope this helps,

Kind regards

Dermot.

SQL development team.

• How to get the selected row in a programmatic table of the ADF (table generated from a bean)

Hi all

We use JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 12.1.3.0.0 and deployed on GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 3.1.2.2 (build 5) and connect to the SQLServer database.

How to get the selected line in a programmatic (using a SortableModel custom not a display object) ADF table (generated from a bean)?

We are trying to get the selected row in a bean of a programmatic ADF table to retrieve data based on the selected line.

Any idea?

Well, you can use selectionListener to set the selected line to a variable of bean (but this bean must be in extended view or some superiors)

Something like this: http://www.awasthiashish.com/2015/07/get-selected-row-singlemultiple-from.html

• How to create the logical tables & how to give joints according to obiee 11g?

I have again to obiee 11g. I want to create the logical tables in MDB layer.

After that I want to give joins according to MDB.

I don't know, how to create the logical tables and how to give joints according to obiee 11g?

Please help me.

Hello

The new logical table is right click on the MDB itself, for the join you generally in the business model diagram (again right click on objects).

Maybe it's better if you start from a kind of tutorial to at least have an overview of what is happening where (layer business and physical layer etc.).

Take a look at what Oracle has available: Oracle BI EE 11 g

And no doubt, it can be a good start: https://apexapps.oracle.com/pls/apex/f?p=44785:24:0:NO:P24_CONTENT_ID, P24_PREV_PAGE:9787, 2
