  If you are on the same machine, the only service that you absolutely need to start is the database service.  In your case OracleServiceSYSDBA (hmmm... How did you find with this name?).

  For queries, you can use SQL * Plus which should also be installed.  If you want something GUI, you can use SQL Developer (you need to install separately I think).

  I have some work for a charity that sends computers in East Africa a few years ago.
  These PC came from banks, insurance companies, lawyers & law firms - a lot of
  potentially sensitive data. Much of the company to simply delete the
  files, which, as we all know is not really effective.

  The first thing we did with each machine was Dban them - no work allowed the
  any PC until it had a sticker of Dban top. Never had any problems.

  A single display element is not rendered at the point of entry to the difference of the other editable on the page elements, if you look at the html code of any view one item and compare it with a textfield should be clear.

  You can have another element hidden with the value that can be returned in the process

  Do not say P100_MY_ITEM like a textfield

• Import/insert data from XML in Oracle database tables?

  Hello. (I use 10.1.3.3.0 JDeveloper and Oracle 10 g)
  
  I was able to export the data of one of my tables in the database using a View object and .writeXML.
  
  Now, I want to take an xml file that is formatted just like what is spit out by the writeXML and put this info in my database table. I followed the examples online, and have tried to use .readXML as follows:
  
  Element = XMLDoc.getDocumentElement ();
  
  vo.readXML (element,-1);
  
  I know that it's the kind of work, because at first, I got an error message that one of the required attributes was missing. So, I added this attribute in my xml file and run my code. No errors. But, I checked my database, and new records have been added.
  
  Is there something I did wrong? Or is it maybe something I left out? I also noticed that there are several versions of readXML as readFromXML. Which should I use and how?

  How to insert the symbol of the degree in text - I would like to have something like "temperature + 2 < degree symbol > water C.

  I found how to insert copyright (Alt + 0169) & the Tilde (Alt + 126) helped by Wikipedia, but the Windos ciode for the degree symbol is not shown - just the

  Unicode U + 2103 but Alt + 2103 just inserts a '7'.

  If you have the copyright © symbol to work for you with Alt + 0169, I think Alt + 0176, you should get the degree symbol as in 32 °.

  Host name is "mylinux". Name of the database instance is PT853.

  I use "mylinux" as the name of the database server, it does not work. I use another way to do as below:

  Export ORACLE_HOME = / home/user/OracleDB_Home

  Can I use "mylinux ORACLE_HOME" as the name of the database server, it does not work either.

  You must learn the basic of database Oracle.

  Please don't regard it not same as SQL server in terms of configuration.

  You never specify the database server name in Oracle.

  You specify the host name in only two places, 1) Tnsnames.ora/JDBC/ODBC (or any client you want to connect) and listener.ora) 2.

  There was nothing called specify the name of the Oracle database from an oracle database server.

  Go to the online documentation and discover the data dictionary. You may be interested in reading about ALL_TAB_COLUMNS, but you will need to know what you want until you can query the view to find information
