  Hello. I installed Oracle Database 11 g 2 OS Oracle Linux 5. The installed directory is/home/user/OracleDB_Home and/home/user/OracleDB_Base.

  Host name is "mylinux". Name of the database instance is PT853.

  I use "mylinux" as the name of the database server, it does not work. I use another way to do as below:

  Export ORACLE_HOME = / home/user/OracleDB_Home

  Can I use "mylinux ORACLE_HOME" as the name of the database server, it does not work either.

  You must learn the basic of database Oracle.

  Please don't regard it not same as SQL server in terms of configuration.

  You never specify the database server name in Oracle.

  You specify the host name in only two places, 1) Tnsnames.ora/JDBC/ODBC (or any client you want to connect) and listener.ora) 2.

  There was nothing called specify the name of the Oracle database from an oracle database server.

  I have some work for a charity that sends computers in East Africa a few years ago.
  These PC came from banks, insurance companies, lawyers & law firms - a lot of
  potentially sensitive data. Much of the company to simply delete the
  files, which, as we all know is not really effective.

  The first thing we did with each machine was Dban them - no work allowed the
  any PC until it had a sticker of Dban top. Never had any problems.

I have a cloud application that would access this server. I tried to find online if I could rent servers for a week for the test database with no luck.   I installed Oracle 10g 10.1.0 product on my computer in the E:\Oracle10g drive.
  My Oracle database was stored in E:\ORADATA. His name is orcl database by default. My OS was accident due to a virus attack.
  
  I installed Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition on the C drive in the c:\WIN2K3 folder. I have not format drive C at all.
  
  I installed Oracle 10 g Release 10.1.0 in drive C C:\ORACLE folder. New name of the database is SMS which is stored in C:\oracle\product\10.1.0\oradata.

  have you tried manually in your environment in order to add the new controller scsi as "scsi controller 1" for VM? First, try manually, then make sure that the scsi controller option is allow to add a scsi controller more for VM.

  And in your code

  scsiCtrl.setBusNumber (0); I think that the scsi controller 0 is already set. This is so it will be like this scsiCtrl.setBusNumber (1);

  scsiCtrl.setControllerKey (1000); This line will not come because after you add the scsi controller, it will generate key controller. It is not depends on user option

  Apart from that, I think that some description and label is not necessary.
