  I think you have misunderstood me. What seems to you had to double-click the icon of QM to open the dialog box, change the transparency color of red, default 50% to 100% black.  I should change it, because the parameter you have now is not good for man nor beast (as they say).

  Suppose you start with no selection and you activate the QM mode.  Now select a black brush with its opacity to 100% (just press the zero key).  Paint on your image, and (if you have reset the settings as advised QM), you will see a red 50% where you paint.  Now deactivate QM, and find yourself with the selection.  You can choose to do with this selection everything you like.

  Personally and I know agree, I'd rather have QM "Color indicates the selected area" value more experienced users.

  Now I need to leave this hidden part of show at, say, 50% opacity (I'll have to experiment to find the optimal percentage.).

  I'd like to screw up the layer mask and start on another.  Already, I thought I could duplicate the masked layer, remove the mask on the copy and set its opacity to 50% but now I have 2 layers.  I suspect that there is a way to do without a double layer.

  Is it possible to adjust the opacity of the layer mask?

  Have you tried to use the controls in the masks palette?

  You control the opacity of the area exposed with the opacity of the layer and the density of the hidden box with the density on the masks palette slider.

  As mentioned by Brad, Adobe stock will have only jpg, AI and eps file formats available, unfortunately, .tiff files are not available on the website of stock.

  But you can convert JPEG files or .tiff with Photoshop or illustrator, once downloaded .ai.

  When you have imported the time of the first import Photoshop file as a sequence box (option) has been verified. Import the Photoshop file and make sure the box is open.

  I have 100 + layers I want to fade on deferred after keyframes manual opacity defined in a layer of "master". Thus, each layer 100 + will fade gradually over by half a second - after the layer 'master' has faded.

  My research led me to this expression:

  However the above fades in all segments of 100 + at the same time. I would like to than the layers to fade in one by one.

  Assuming that the head layer is battery #1, something like this should work:

  delay = * thisComp.frameDuration (index-1);

  thisComp.layer("leader").transform.opacity.valueAtTime (time-delay);

  This will give layer 2 time frame 1, layer 3, a 2-frame time, etc. If you want to increase the differential interval to say, 3 images, you could just change the first line to:

  delay = 3 *(index-1) * thisComp.frameDuration;

  I have a PDF file created by another application, an application that is not able to establish the transparency of a color. I have exported to PDF. When I opened it in Adobe Acrobat Pro, I can select the tool change object and select the object, then rightclick Edit. The object is opened in Adobe Illustrator.   Using the first method should work best. When you use the tool change object, and it opens at work in Illustrator, make changes, and THEN SAVE THE FILE in ILLUSTRATOR. This change should be applied to the PDF file. Note: I never have to change transparency (I made other changes), but I think it should work if you save it.

  As far as I know, here's what you can do:

  On screen BRUSH RESIZE and HARDNESS/OPACITY

  Mac

  • Drag left/right = brush resizing: Opt-Ctrl + click - drag
  • Up/down = hardness of the brush drag: Opt + Cmd + Ctrl + click - drag
    (or opacity if the option is disabled)

  Windows

  • Drag left/right = brush resizing: Alt + right-click-drag
  • Up/down = hardness of the brush drag: Alt + shift + right-click-drag
    (or opacity if the option is disabled)

  Note: In Change Preferences > General you can uncheck vary the hardness of the round brush based on a vertical HUD movement if you want to change the opacity instead of hardness.
