How to know if someone copied a file on a USB?

If you have a person who you think access to your USB key, how do you know if they copied a file from your USB key on his computer?

Hello

Unfortunately, there is no way we would know that someone has copied contacts from the flash drive on your computer.

    Hi Tech Mom,

If you copy and paste a file or folder, it does not get deleted in the source location. It gets deleted in the source location when you cut and paste the file or folder. The article below explains how to copy and paste a file or folder.

Is it possible to do a reinstall? I have a Dell OptiPlex 745 with windows vista ultimate. Any help would be welcome.

Once the file has been picked up, you can easily extract the details of file using "jca.file.FileName" etc. (see above).

  • How is it possible to copy a playlist on a USB?

My new car audio system has a USB port and is supposed to be able to play music from a USB 'peripheral '. So, I try to understand how to copy a mix of songs on a USB key. I made a playlist with songs in the order I want. Then I copied the files on the disk. I tried in my car, but it does not seem to recognize the drive. I tried to export the playlist, but all this did was to create a text file.

I could just burn songs to a CD, but CD is not very good. I want songs much more than that and don't want to have to keep changing CD. So, how can I make a playlist that is playable from a USB?

    Hello

Turingtest2 has a solution in this thread, but it seems a little complicated. Copy playlist to USB?

  • How to know the encoding of the file PCL5 generated using the HP Universal print driver

    Hello

I generated a PCL 5 file using the HP PCL5 universal printer driver.

While I tried to open the file using Notepad ++, the file seems to be encoded.

How will I know the encoding used in the PCL5? Sample file is attached.

    Thanks in advance.

    >... we would like to know the type of encoding used in the PCL file.

    >> ... How can get us? It uses the EBCDIC encoding?

There is No text, encoding, as such.

The text (which seems to be the content of the manual 'PCL5 Comparison Guide' page) has been converted (by your player application and the printer driver) in a raster (bitmap) image.

The print file generated contains a few sequences initialization, then (as I said) the greater part of the file is an equivalent of PCL-a Windows raster image format (in this case, the selected compression method is TIFF).

The analysis has been produced using the PRN file analysis tool in the application of the whole PCL , available via http://www.pclparaphernalia.eu

  • How to know the size of the files transferred to the SQL * Net?

I'm testing the Advanced compress (AC) for 11 g Data Guard. When the AC is turned on, the archived log files are supposed to be compressed on the primary database server sent via SQL * Net, then unzipped on the standby db server. We will see that the file sizes are the same on the main servers and backup. I want to check that the AC works by monitoring how much data is sent via SQL * Net. By Oracle, AC uses less bandwidth of 35%. This means that the size of the transferred files must be at least 65% of the original size.

Is there a way to know the size with the Oracle utilities? Otherwise, how do you know by the utilities of operating system? OS is Solaris 5.10.

    Thank you.

I'm not sure that this can be done via SQL * Net, but a sniffer network between two servers packets must be able to help - you may want to contact your network team.

  • How to know if someone has set up my computer to store information online without knowing me

    online storage

    Hello

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

You can use a reliable antivirus and internet security program that scans for threats of malicious software on your PC. If found, they will be deleted. In addition, if nothing is found, you may check the firewall settings if any suspicious application is access to the internet and download files.

You can also open the resource monitor by pressing start, type "Resource monitor", right click and click 'run as administrator '. In windows, on the network tab, you can find the list of applications using the internet connection. You can zero in any unwanted or suspicious of there programs and eliminate them.

  • Windows Explorer hangs when copying large files on external USB drive

I'm trying to copy files over 1 GB of my pc to a WD MyBook external drive. After about 10% on the progress indicator, Windows Explorer crashes. When I cancel the work, nothing happens until I unplug the USB. Then I have the pc returns to normal.

During my research, I discovered that a lot of people have this problem. I have tried many suggestions, but without result. The last thing I tried was a full format the C: drive with a fresh install of Vista. Copy a large file gave me the message 'Calculating time' infinite. After you have installed SP1 reappeared the problem as explained above.

Some of the things I've tried:
check the external hard drive: no problem found and the problem occurs on all my MesLivres 3
    safe mode
    Superfetching disabled
    update the motherboard bios

Now my last request resource helps professionals. If I don't find a solution I'll have to go back to XP, achieve Win7 or one rating for Mac... a lot of things to think about.

    Best regards

Try to copy in safe mode. If can be a slow usb port. Try anther one.

  • How can I navigate and play MP3 files from a USB stick using Labview 8.0?

I am a tester to test the USB flash drives connected to the PC.

I want to browse the file system & playback of audio files, files .jpeg etc in the USB. I have Labview 8.0. When I searched for some examples or screws which can detect the flash drive USB, cannot find a. So if you could point me in the right direction, I can find a solution to my problem.

    Thank you.

You will probably find some specific examples for this.  A USB flash drive is mounted by the operating system and appears as a new memory storage device to all software on the PC, including LabVIEW.  You can certainly write a LabVIEW program to open the files on the key and the game/run their but I would create a VI who wrote the files on the stick then proofread and checked to find errors at the level of the ILO.  Don't forget that your operating system could do parity check under the hood that would make your test rather meaningless.

BTW, memory test looking at pictures or listen to the MP3s would be useless of course.  A man cannot see or hear errors at the level of the ILO in a stream broadband.

  • Are you sure you want to copy this file without its properties

I suddenly started to get this message whenever I have try to copy any file on a USB - not just photos or music key.  When I look at the files already on the USB (many courses back years) none of them have properties, but this message only started to appear in the last two weeks. I can get around it by answering simply Yes, but I would like to get rid of the message altogether.  It is extremely irritating, especially if I am copying several files.  I am running Windows Vista.

This means that your USB drive is unable to support additional file properties.  In short, this means that the USB uses a different format of the file system (FAT instead of NTFS, probably).

To fix it, you can format the stick with NTFS, but make sure that you copy files from it first (temporarily store on your desktop for example), because the formatting will erase the drive.
