  Hello Chaosdruid, This is the correct behavior, ctrl + f to open the search bar, try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that disables some settings and disables most Add-ons (extensions and themes).

  (If you are using an additional theme, place you in default theme.)

  If Firefox is open, you can restart in Mode without failure of Firefox in the Help menu by clicking on the restart with the disabled... modules menu item:

  

  If Firefox is not running, you can start Firefox in Mode safe mode as follows:

  • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
  • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
  • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
    (you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

  Once you get the pop-up, simply select "" boot mode safe. "

  

  If the issue is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to understand that one. Please follow the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

  No harm will come of the fact that you wrote. Fraudulent Web sites that are made to appear as legitimate those who are specially designed to convince you to reveal personal information. To do this would be the first step in a path well worn to the misery.

  Lost the feature universal paste. Manually add them back in keyboard shortcuts. They do not work in all programs. If I copy and paste a url in a browser, it is not paste in ANYTHING.      However, when I copy the mozilla.cfg file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\ and the local-settings.js file to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref it has no effect on the settings in Firefox. I can go to about:config and see nothing has changed.

  Hello, the mozilla.cfg file isn't very tolerant error - then please first try only with one line to see if it is properly called by the local file - settings.js:
