How to make custom for files and folders in Windows 7 icons?

Original title: ORDER of ICONS

HOW DOES ONE OF THE CUSTOM FOLDERS & FILES ICONS IN WINDOWS EXPLORER

Hello

I ask you to answer a few questions, so that we can diagnose this problem properly:

1. you want to design your own icon and set for files and folders?

2 you receive messages or error code when you try to customize using Properties?

I ask you to follow these steps:

a. right-click on the folder and select Properties.

b. click on the Customize tab and click change icon.

Note: this is only possible in the actual file location and not in libraries.

Note: the modified icon also appears in the "Library" view, you will need to close and reopen the file Explorer.

Please let us know the status of the issue.

  • How to set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders in Windows XP

It is a problem with iTunes. About 8 months ago I had to reinstall my operating system. When I reinstalled iTunes, it does not recognize my music already purchased. He tells me that songs should be allowed, I put my username and password and it tells me that they are allowed.

So I finally emailed Apple support recently. They suggested that this is a problem with the permissions on the iTunes Media folder. Apple support gave me the following URL address: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308419/en-us.

I followed the instructions on the Microsoft support site. But when I right click on the iTunes Media folder, and then click Properties, there is no security tab, with the following statement on the Microsoft Support site.

I also tried the instructions for "If you are not joined to a domain and want to view theSecurity tab. "In Control Panel, I don't have the choice of themes & appearances. There is a choice of Folder Options, but once in the view tab, there is no choice ofuse simple file sharing.

  • How can I access the files and folders in Windows XP?

    Original title: Big Stick required

For many years, I used XP Professional.  A few years ago, due to a scare, I added a password.  The disc recently got upset and the machine wouldn't boot.  The drive is now working as a slave on another PC, but now a number of files is not accessible.  I tried xcacls.vbs to view permissions without success.  Does anyone know a "big stick" to use in the circumstances, please?

  • How to display the hidden files and folders even if I've already enabled "Show hidden files, folders and drives" to "Advanced settings"?

How to display the hidden files and folders even if I've already enabled "Show hidden files, folders and drives" to "Advanced settings"?

After I enabled "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in 'Advanced settings', I can't yet see in the folder but I know there is a file in this program of WinRAR folder form as pictured below where I opened the case both at the same time.

Hope you can help in this case...

It would be possible that the file is marked as a system folder (which is just a check box in properties such as the hidden check box). So in your folder options, uncheck the "Hide protected operating system files" and see if it will be visible.

Or another thing to try: remonter back a level, hold down SHIFT while you right-click the complete file and choose "Open command window here", then type DIR to see if the file is listed.

  • Unable to find files and folders using Windows Search

Original title: Windows search returns no results, but only for a single user - another user works very well - Windows 7

All of a sudden windows search of files and folders (from windows Explorer) do not return results - even if I'm looking for in a folder with a file name that I know is in there.  However, it works for the other user on this system.

The things that I tried or looked at who did not work:

    • Configuration of the default folder options.
    • reconstruction of the index
    • sfc/scannow - said "windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to solve some of them.  I have the CBS. If necessary log file.
    • research done that windows has been archived 'Tour of the windows features turn on or off.
    • Ran the registry of Windows Search - he said that he fixed two things (cannot tell you what they were now), but still, it does not solve the problem. When I run it says once again that there are no errors.
    • I checked this registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerAdvanced\\\ and key Start_SearchFiles - which was set to 2, the default
    • Under Customize Start Menu - search with public folders is selected under search for other files and libraries.

It still does not work.  The search box in the start menu seems to work, but not for anything I get.

    Frustrated!

This is not possible, that both jad and cod is necessary to install an OTA application. the jad file contains a description of the application, the cod is the real application.

  • 'Read only' look for files and folders

I think a virus entered in my computer and changed 80% of my documents and files in a 'read only' appearance, even if they are still available to make changes and can be saved with the changes. This has happened after the repair of the system by restoring to an earlier date.

    1. Why do you have this happen: was it really a virus?

    2. How can I go back to the previous 'typical' aspect of the documents and records?

    Hello

What security program is installed on the computer?

Method 1: Strange behavior could be due to the virus.

Since you can now access files and folders, you can run the virus scan just to be sure.

Here is a link that will give you information on how to perform a full scan of the system:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Method 2: You can also check:

You cannot view or change the read-only or the attributes of system files in Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
