How to monitor volume mount points in a vm - foglight 5.6.3

Hi all

Im trying to figure out how to monitor some mount points in a Virtual Machine and Yes, I loaded vfog cartridge.

I could make the old version of foglight by having to install the operating system on the server vm itself agent, but im not sure if it was OK.

Anyone can help with this on?

I think not as possible without the pieces of BONE.  He'll get the detail of high level of use, but not the points I've seen editing.

I see the strange name of volume for the SD card... M ^ IPNG ^ M ^ J ^ Z ^ J in my case.  Please refer to the attached screenshot.  Does anyone have something similar?  How to change the name?

Actually I was thinking the same... so before preparing your post, I took the SD card and inserted into my Mac... There 'NO NAME' volume name.  Then, I changed it to 'SOMETHING' and insert it to the Z3. Bingo... it displayed as "SOMETHING."

  • How to recover missing the mounting point on the standby server

Environment: Oracle 11.2.0.3 EE on Solaris

I have a Production database with a physical standby created and run in our remote data center and this configuration worked well for several years.

Recently, I had 2 two new mount points, added to the Production Server but unfortunately do not have their created on the standby server.  I did not remapped mounting points, so the layout is identical between the Production and standby.  At least it was.

I created several new data files on the Production Server using the new mount points.

Once I realized my mistake, I had additional mounting points created on the standby server.

I STANDBY_FILE_MANAGEMENT = AUTO on the day before, but obviously the new data file was not created since mount points were not available when they were added in the Production.

Without the mount points and therefore the new data files, on the eve, archive logs are not applied on the day before.  There are currently about 150 newspapers that must be applied.

Question: Can I copy the files of existing data from the Production Server to the standby server and Data Guard will know which archives newspapers must be applied to standby data files to bring them current with the files of Production data?

If this is not the case, how can I get the new data files created on the eve and a return to synchronization with the Production?

Thanks a lot for your help!

    -gary

Once the mount points are created on the eve, manually resume the managed recovery. The day before would have abandoned managed recovery so you don't have to make it work again. The transaction that has been reproduced that requires mount points should not proceed. Given enough time, the wait will catch up to where it should be. If it's not fast enough, then use RMAN to roll forward the day before as indicated in a previous answer.

    > Can I copy the existing data files on the Production Server to the standby server

N ° you can not do this.

    Hi Musaddaq,
When you perform a restore on the test server after having mounted the controlfile enables control of catalog catalog of the backup pieces in the new directory structure.

  • What is the number of mount points created from a count of SAN space?

    Hello

When the disk assigned to a database are local, I understand that for the same size lot and small are better than little and large for parallelism. Is there a reason to have a more rather than less mounting points when the allocated space is of the SAN and we really do not know how many physical devices is the space from?

    Thank you

Yes, Sysadmin will create mount point associated with mulitple Lun there depends on your standard organization upward.

    for example.

I need following the mounting points. My standard lun size is 25 GB. Point mount - dimensions - Lun
    TEMP_TS - 50-2
Online_log1 - 10 - in this scenario, they will create 2 (10-15 GB) partition on one lun and assign mount points
    Online_log2 - 15
    Data_TS - 100-4
    Index - 50-2

    LUN---> Partition---> volume group---> Mountpoint (FS)

  • share volume mounted NAS network

I have a Seagate Black Armor NAS 440 directly connected to my iMac running El Capitan. The SIN is on the local Ethernet iMac and it can share its volumes via SMB, CIFS or NFS. I have a 'Public' mounted volume on the iMac by using the command mount-t smbfs.  The home network is wireless, and I can see all the shared volumes on the iMac to my MacBook (also run El Capitan), except the Public. In other words, I can see all the files on the volume of Public SIN only on the iMac itself. My question is how to access the Public SIN of Mac volume on the WiFi network? Or in other words, how can I share the Public get on the iMac in the other Mac on the WiFi network?

    You can't do that.

You must enter the NAS in the router, so the other machines can do the mount from him directly.

I'm not sure the logic to be plugged directly on one machine by ethernet.

But really, you cannot export a volume mounted remotely.

  • Mount point of the external SD card

The SD card works obviously, since I updated to 4.1

I can't find the volume with Windows Explorer ARE. What is the path to the external sd card?

Moderator comment: images > 50 KB converted for programming. Community rules.

    This clarifies the paths:

    The mount points are:

    / Import/Storage/sdcard0 /.

    / Import/Storage/sdcard1 /.

    /SDCard and /sdcard2 are aliases.

To mount all readers with davdrive, just change the path in /sdcard davdrive to.

  • How to monitor the use of the Hyperion applications

    Hi all
We have developed a classical Planning Application in Hyperion 11.1.2
The application is running in production mode, and now we want to monitor the use of this application, in this regard, I have following questions:
    (1) how to activate the newspapers?
    (2) how to monitor the time of connection and disconnection of each user
    (3) how to check the amount of data entered in a particular week
    (4) how to check that data are entered against how much the faculty members?

I won't pretend to know what should I know about this subject, but I get this question of a large number of customers. So, here is my answer. There is no right way to monitor who logs and how many times they connect. If you enable the audit DATA, that you can do is to see when a user loads the data and how often they do. This does not match the connection, but planners usually don't connect to display data (which are normally made in EN or SmartView), they connect to load/update of data. With active audit DATA, you can query the HSP_AUDIT_RECORDS table, which is where the audit is stored, and see how many times the user load the data and the last load of data. Is not correct, but it is far more closely than any other method I've found.

Example of the last connection (really last loaded data)
    SELECT USER_NAME AS 'User', time_posted as 'Last Login Time' OF HSP_AUDIT_RECORDS WHERE TYPE = "data";

You can use a similar query to count the number of data loads.

This would also show you what the user has launched it to business rules.

Another option would be to enable SSAUDIT on the planning application in Essbase (this is done in the Essbase - google SSAUDIT server configuration file). This will create 2 files. The first is a file index or pointer. There will be a line for each record, via a web form or SmarView load. The second file contains all of the loaded data. The first file will tell you that loaded which lines in the second file and what time he did. The downside is that each connection between planning and Essbase uses the ID of the source of data for planning. So, it always shows the same loading data ID and will not be the real of the user who did it.

Note that users do not have to connect through planning. They can directly connect to Essbase. All financial reports that would be misunderstood by looking only at the planning.

If you really want the actual load, you really watch the Essbase and Essbase application log files. Would not show you users, but could show you the number of queries, the data loads, etc. You could analyze these logs in a relational table for quick access to the use of the query.

That's a lot of things to take. Unfortunately, to answer your question, it is not a quick option, "click here."

Utility to analyze the logs can be found at http://code.google.com/p/jrightlog.

  • Questions of NFS mount points

I have two questions about how the NFS mount points is in fact from the point of view NFS servers.

If the mount point of the 'outside' is considered as for example / ISO, would this mean

    1. that the directory is named "iso" or could it be a real name on the local file system on the NAS Server? (As in the names of SMB share, could be different from the name of folder.)

    2. that the folder is actually located directly on the root of the local file system, which is/ISO on the server, or would it be for example/dir1/dir2/iso and always to the outside as appearance / ISO? (As in the SMB, where 'share' creates a new root somewhere on the filesystem that is exposed to the outside.)

    ricnob wrote:

Thank you! It would be a typical NFS-Unix/Linux server?

    Yes.

So perhaps it is not defined in the standard how this should be done, but can vary between implementations? (* nix of course most common.)

Possible, but does MS ever meet standards? Even their own?

    RFC1094/NFS:

"Different operating systems may have restrictions on the depth of the tree or used names, but also using a syntax different tor represent the"path", which is the concatenation of all the"components"(file and directory names) in the name...". Some operating systems provide a 'mount' operation to make all file systems appear as a single tree, while others maintain a 'forest' of file systems... NFS looking for a component of a path at the same time.  It may not be obvious why he did not only take the name of way together, stroll in the directories and return a file handle when it is carried out.  There are many good reasons not to do so.  First, paths need separators between items in the directory, and different operating systems use different separators.  We could define a representation of network Standard access path, but then each path must be analyzed and converted at each end. • Following mount point

    Hello

In first Pro CC shortcuts "Following Mount Point" and "Previous Edit Point" seem to only work when the reference monitor is selected.

They don't seem to work when editing on the timeline, as they did in the previous version.

Is this OK or something I am doing wrong?

    Brian

This does not seem to make a difference.

However what I found is that if I change the default shortcut keys< pgup=""> and it works OK.  I just changed the a and keys receptive and it seems fine.

Seems very strange, but at least it works.

  • Size of the VCB proxy mount point?

We are looking to integrate VCB with HP Server 6.0 the VCB proxy host will have hosted on the San storage, I need to save about 2.6 TB of data vmfs by night. We want to not backup of the virtual machine at the level of the image to the facility.

My question is: should my proxy server VCB a mount point of 2.6 TB, or does only need a larger size of the VM mount point?

It depends on how you plan your backups. VCB backup will copy the VMDK file in the staging area of the VCB then as backup. If you save just a VMDK in time then there must be enough space to hold the largest VMDK. If you are running backups obvisouly Parallels, there should be enough space to contain all the VMDK files to backup at any time
