share volume mounted NAS network

I have a Seagate Black Armor NAS 440 directly connected to my iMac running El Capitan. The SIN is on the local Ethernet iMac and it can share its volumes via SMB, CIFS or NFS. I have a 'Public' mounted volume on the iMac by using the command mount-t smbfs.  The home network is wireless, and I can see all the shared volumes on the iMac to my MacBook (also run El Capitan), except the Public. In other words, I can see all the files on the volume of Public SIN only on the iMac itself. My question is how to access the Public SIN of Mac volume on the WiFi network? Or in other words, how can I share the Public get on the iMac in the other Mac on the WiFi network?

You can't do that.

You must enter the NAS in the router, so the other machines can do the mount from him directly.

I'm not sure the logic to be plugged directly on one machine by ethernet.

But really, you cannot export a volume mounted remotely.

    Hello

Thank you very much for reading this thread, I'm now here.  Please can you guys not take a look at my question for Indesign CS6

    My configuration is:

MacBook Air early 2014 with 8 GB of ram

    OS system: Mac OS10.10.4 (Yosemite)

CS6 inDesign with all necessary updates

My problem is that when I launched Indesign without my drive from editing on my LAN, I'm not able to open same Indesign.  I tried to delete the preferences in Indesign by Cmd + Opt + Ctrl, shift, but it does not work for me.  Now, if I want to use Indesign, I need to plug my drive share in my local network first, otherwise, it will not launch.

Please share your related information for why it happens and how to solve the problem.  If all goes well, I don't have to reinstall the Indesign or even to reinstall the whole system.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello world

I am sure that this post is deep to the bottom of this forum and seems that no one has the same problem as me.  However, just in case if someone has the same problem, I want to offer my find here.

To get the answer at the beginning.  Someone or get me a font alias into my police record from Indesign, that's why every time I open Indesign, I have no choice but to link to our network share drive.  Once I removed the alias, everything is back to normal.

Without a doubt, that it is my carelessness.  However, I found the folder of fonts in Indesign is very useful, if you need one hundred open files Indesign difference difference sources or the difference of the projects one day and do not want to use third-party font management tools.

I hope that the information can help

  • Spanning a volume on a network or with a remote device

I use OS X v10.11.3 and OS X Server on a Mac Pro operating (2013, 4 cores, 12 concerts, no supercharger (on overclocking kills a cpu)). I have a computer with a ton of storage empty sata (cleared). These two are connected to a network 1GE switch. (I'm aware of other ways of linking this storage directly but I want on a network)

I don't know that create a split volume can be done locally via disk (per set of concatenated disks) utility but is possible between the two computers on this network? A single volume on a network.

Maybe something similar to a master and a slave setup or create a cluster between the two computer? Then I could set up other slaves too or create a larger cluster.

I looked at turns the computer into a network-attached storage (nas) and then mount it, but I'm a little cautious in experimenting with storage. So far I have not tried it nor I decided which method of Sin would be more beneficial/easier.

My goal is to make a unique secondary storage on a network facility. If there is no alternative that would be able to set up something similar to a network storage / at distance to create a volume split, then I'm all ears. Other than that, all I'm asking is if it is possible and what is the best method.

    Thank you, Samuel.

  • Sharing of readers do not reconnect - error "an error occurred during connection [drive letter]: [share name] Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »

Original title: Shared readers do not reconnect

I have two PCs connected wireless. A laptop (Vista Business) was the drives mapped to actions on the other PC (XP). Whenever the Vista PC is started or out of hibernation, or after only a short period of time these discs are not available. Click on the drive in Explorer to display the message "an error occurred during connection [drive letter]: [share name] Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »

If I click on 'Network' within Solution Explorer, the XP PC is not visible. The only way that I can "reconnect" these disks is to go into my anti-virus (Trend) and open the network map. This shows the XP PC and then the shares are available through Explorer - XP PC is still not visible by clicking network however.

It started only happens in the last two months - cannot locate exactly when, but quite recently. I use connections to store small files and backup critical files a few before nailing the laptop away and it is quite annoying to have to go through this routine every time.

    Any ideas?

Just in case it helps others - I found that if I make sure that my XP PC has a fixed IP address, and then set up the shares so that they are defined using the IP address and not share names, then I do have more problems - seems like it's something to do with Windows solve the share names rather than something to do with the personal firewall after all.

  • Why NAS network credentials are missing (error code 0 x 80070056) even if the username and password are correct?

When I try to create a system image on a network location Windows asks the credentials network for the target location. The credentials, I get are correct, but I still receive an error message that the location cannot be used because the password is not correct (error code 0 x 80070056).
    Screenshot

The location of the target is a share on a netdrive - D - Link DNS-323. And the part I want access to the backup is already mapped to my computer.

In fact, I got the same error when I traced the netdrive.
Instead of just using the entered user name Windows 7 adds the computer as field in front of the user name-/ login in this schema: Name\Login name of the computer

I guess, because of the addition of 'domain', authentication fails because the network drive does not recognize the name of the connection with the addition of domain. The network credentials window Windows always said that the (certainly correct) password is incorrect. If you check the box to save connection information, the Explorer will open up the reader, even if authentication failed. And now the mapped drives automatically reconnect and can be viewed on the browser without problems.

Is this behavior a bug in Windows 7? Any way to fix or work around this problem?

    Hi Th_Row,

You are on the right track with the help of the name of the computer you want to connect. Have you tried to use the domain\username of the device name? The default device name is dlink-[last 6 characters of the MAC address].
    For example: dlink-ECEA07
If your final username should look like this: dlink-ECEA07\UserName
You can also connect to your NAS server and click the device on the left. On the screen you should see the name; Is the name of your device.
Try that and let me know if it works!

  • Unable to connect to the NAS network via a wired connection?

    Hi all

I have 2 network NAS. They are both a Bay D-Link ShareCenter 2. One is full of media I use for streaming and the other is used to keep backups of my computers and some software. Both of the NAS are configured in RAID mirror. They both worked fine when I got them almost a year ago, they are mapped to letters pilot Y and Z. 2 days when I logged my office a popup notification came to say.
"cannot reconnect to all network drives, click here to check the status of your network drives."
    so I checked it status and he said they were offline. I restarted my computer and both the NAS, but it made no difference. Then I tried to disconnect the drives, but when I try to reconnect to them I get this error;
"Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, check the spelling of the name. Otherwise, there could be a problem with your network. In an attempt to identify and solve network problems, click on diagnose. »
When I click to diagnose it is unable to find a default.
The next thing I did was disable my Ethernet card and connect to my network with my WiFi adapter. Then I tried to re - map the NAS is connected via the wireless. This time he allowed me to map them and they seem to work as usual via the wireless connection, but it is rather slow on the wireless.
    Then I disconnected my WiFi connection and reactivated my Ethernet card. When I tried to open the NAS I get this error message;

"An error occurred while reconnecting Z: to \\192.168.0.32\Volume_1\Joe, Microsoft Windows network: the local device name is already in use." This connection has not been restored. »

    A friend told me that this error was because the drive letter is used by a USB storage device or remembered from a previous session, and to remedy, I should run these 2 commands CMD;
NET use * / Delete Yes
    NET use / persistent: no
After you run the two orders, nothing has been changed still the same problem. I also I have no USB storage device so it may be that.
The next thing I tried was to ping both the NAS, I did this on Ethernet and WiFi connections, and both times I return a normal response both to the NAS.
I defrosted then to restore an image from my Office I made around a week ago and I know that I don't have this problem at the time. The image I did was with Acronis. When I started on the CD of Acronis support, I discovered that Acronis software could connect both the NAS on my desktop Ethernet. After restoring I still have the same problem.
Now, there's 1 thing I noticed, my laptop can still connect to both WiFi and Ethernet NAS with all the problems. I also have an android phone, and who can connect both of the NAS via a WiFi connection.
1 last thing you to know is I can always get to the configuration of the NAS so pages I visit it local address in a web browser. I also ran a factory reset both the NAS and then re-applied my own settings. This does not solve the problem, and more that turning March my routers.
Please can someone help me solve this problem. I'm running a Windows 8 Pro 64 Bit operating system. If you need more information on my system spec or how I have my setup of home network please let me know.
    Thank you Joe.

This problem has now been fixed.

For some reason any my AVG firewall had defrosted on its own to block access to the features as well as to define its self to disable the file and printer sharing of files on the NAS share.
So a small trick to my firewall and everything works as it should.
    Thank you Joe.
  • ESX 4.1.0 Unable to mount NAS

    Hey all,.

I'm trying to add a NAS (Ubuntu Samba server) data store to my ESX machine and am having some problems.

I am able to ping on the NAS server using vmkping, I have the NFS Client added under the security-> Firewall profile, and I can ping the ip vmkernel from the Samba server.  When I try to add the server, I get the following error in my journal vmkernel:

  • How to see the volume mounted in Windows Explorer?

    Hi all

I am new bie to the VDDK stuff, you might find my pretty obvious question.

I use the VXMnt API to mount the drive but I don't see that he set up in Windows Explorer.

I am able to see the \\.\vstor2-mntapi10-shared-2CB22CB2007E00000000001000000\. In my opinion, this device comes only after successful mounting of the volume.

I also called DoDOSDevice (...) to map this unit as a player.
DoDOSDevice (...) returns successfully and creates drive, but I am not able to browse it from Windows Explorer.

Here are the calls that I do:

VixMntApi_Init (1, 0, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL, NULL)
    VixMntApi_OpenDisks (connection, DiskNames, numberOfDisks, VIXDISKLIB_FLAG_OPEN_READ_ONLY, & disksetHandle)

    VixMntApi_GetVolumeHandles (...)
    VixMntApi_MountVolume (...)
    VixMntApi_GetVolumeInfo (...)  -> Symboliclink used to DefineDOSDevice
    DoDeviceName (.)

    I changed \\.\vstor2-mntapi10-shared-2CB22CB2007E00000000001000000\
    TO
    "\DEVICE\vstor2-mntapi10-shared-2CB22CB2007E00000000001000000" - but without success
    "\\?\GLOBALROOT\\DEVICE\vstor2-mntapi10-shared-2CB22CB2007E00000000001000000" - without success.

Please correct me where I'm wrong. If possible, share the sample code.

    Thank you

A breakpoint will affect not to work. The program must be running to be able to serve Windows i/o requests. I have not seen the attached code, but you might need to restructure your program to continue to run as long as there are any mounted volumes.

    Thank you

  • Backflip: Is it possible to share links to social networking sites from the browser?

Hi all. I was playing with my Backflip and that most of the time (apart from some odd questions every now and again). I love how I can post updates from a single blow to all my social networks that I have linked to my Motoblur account. It is quite convenient. I did something similar on my computer browser for a while with the help of an add-on called Yoono. Although one thing I can make sure I did not quite understand yet how can I go on the sharing of links on all of my accounts of social network at the same time? Is it still possible to do so directly, or do I have to use the sharing links on individual pages or copy the link and put in an update? Yoono offers a unique button 'share' which will lead the URL I'm at, capture images of the page, I would add a little descriptive text and then send it to networks no matter what I choose in a single process. It saves time by not requiring no me click every button share for each network and add descriptions for everything. Just click once and it goes to all. In the same way that status updates the work of Motoblur. Given that social network accounts are already synchronized with our phones, I was hoping there would be something like that where I could share a link from the browser or RSS reader app and post the link to all my accounts in a single operation without welding. So are there currently such a thing, or what I have to use a workaround? Thank you!

Download free browser dolphin of the market app. When using it just click the menu button and it gives options for sharing things on different sites.
