How to open a Word document forms

Hi all

I need to open a document (MS Word) while clicking on a button in forms. Going u please help me to do this?

Kind regards

Nycy

Yes, as Andreas said, create a virtual directory on your server forms.
Edit the /forms/server/forms.conf file to add the virtual directory:

...
  # Virtual path for users documents
AliasMatch ^/forms/docs/(..*) "C:\doc_folder/$1"
...

Before you copy the files into the physical directory (C:\doc_folder in my example), the call from the module of forms via the built-in function Web.Show_Document ():

  Web.Show_Document('/forms/docs/the_file.doc','_blank');

  • How to open a word from a subroutine of javascript document by using the OPEN method?

    Hi everyone and thanks for your support!

    I created a Web site that uses a subroutine in javascript to open a WORD document. This is part of the code that I use in my PC (... and works perfectly).

    I understood from my reading that Microsoft Word is waiting for the absolute path to the file, reason code why you see the text following that, once again,.

    works fine in my PC:

    ***

    obj=w.documents.open('c:\\Users\\Owner\\Desktop\\pitutor314_1\\parent_agrm_sp.docx');

    ***

    But when I download my files (of work) for the server that hosts my website (GoDaddy), I have to change the absolute path in my

    original files to a new path, now showing the absolute path on the server. This is what my subroutine looks like after the

    corrections:

    ***

    obj=w.documents.open('/home/content/43/9663143/HTML/parent_agrm_en.docx');

    ***

    This new path has failed. I tried to change "/" "------" or "-", but these corrections did not work too.

    Please help me to be able to open a Word document of my javascript subroutine residing on my host server. Thanks in advance.

    See you soon

    Microsoft Office (incl. Word) does not include Windows 8 (or another version of Windows): it is a suite of applications that can be purchased separately. If you had before and he did not buy, it was probably a "OEM version" which was supplied by the manufacturer of your PC (& that you paid at the same time that your PC). You should also note that software OEM is linked to its origin PC (motherboard actually) and cannot be transferred to a new machine.

    Check if you were supposed to get Microsoft Office with your current PC.

    If you have Windows 8, you should be able to access Word through a tile on the Start screen. You can check if its installed by looking in the programs and features control Panelsection.

    If you do not have Microsoft Word you can buy it individually or part of a suite Microsoft Office. Please see:

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/products/?CTT=97 .

    Windows 8 still has the built-in basis called WordPad word processing. Just type WordPad when the Start screen until it appears.

    There are other available word processing programs, including those that are free.
