Icon painting (a shortcut for paint) may be absent. but the program
is almost certainly still there. See the answer of Jetta48.

Note, however, that the paint is not at all necessary. There are many other
choice. Here is my standard answer to questions print screen:

In the days of DOS, the print screen button to print the screen. But
in all versions of Windows, it works differently and the name of
the key is now an anachronism. The key is not to print the screen.
PrtScrn captures the entire screen and Alt-PrtScrn captures activate
    window.

Either a capture of the image in the Windows Clipboard. Once it is in
the Clipboard, you can paste (Ctrl + V) into any application that
supports graphics (Windows Paint, other graphics software, even your)
favorite text processing). You can change or add to the image you
    like, then print it out.

This ability to manipulate the image in a program before printing
is an improvement on the original method of printing the whole back.
But if you like that old return facility, there are several
freeware/shareware programs from third parties which can do, such as

    Hello

When you press the button PRTSCN, then the image of your screen is Save the Clipboard (something like CTRL + C in WORD). You must run (for failure) paint (the program for work with images) and press CTRL + V. Then you can save it as a file.

Painting - you can run like this:

Click on Start - run and write mspaint.exe and click OK

  • On Vista, how used print screen to take a capture screen or pause a video or play?

I'm looking to perform a simple task here, and who takes always an or a screenshot of a video using the print screen key, for editing in PhotoShop CS3. But, I can't figure out where the nature/screenshot after having clicked on the button Prt Sc, or if I'm still hitting right (ex. Ctrl > Prt Sc or Fn > Prt Sc, or even simply Prt Sc). Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello

Print screen (Prt Sc) button will save an image in the Windows Clipboard.
You can paste the Image stored in any Image editing software.

for example: after hitting print screen, open MSPaint, now it click Edit and Paste. The image should be pasted into MSpaint.
You also do the same in CS3.

You can also use the shortcut 'ALT + PrintScreen' copy just the image of the window (not the entire screen) to the Clipboard.

    Try it.

  • How to print screen with keyboard 1. 0 has (1045)?

I tried to use the prtscr print screen button and paste it into the e-mail.  It did not work.  Then shift-prtscr tried and it don't work any more.

Tapping PrtScr will take a screenshot of the entire desktop and put on the Clipboard in a raw. In BMP format. Alt + PrtScr will do the same with only the (targeted) window above. I'm not sure that SHIFT-PrtScr does nothing more than duplicate the PrtScr command.

As much as paste in an email is concerned, depends a lot what you use to compose the email. Regarding emails on a web browser, this procedure works in Gmail, but not in Yahoo mail. If you use Outlook as a dedicated mail client, this works well and has some additional image format options.

Have you tried the Vista Snipping Toolcommand of file, send to, recipient of Email ? This may not work on webmail. As indicated above, a lot depends on what you use to compose your email.

If yes then you have to use the FN key to get this feature so CTRL + FN + END should work ;)

  • How to print screen in InDesign?

I am a beginner in InDesign and wonder if it is anyway in the screenshot the document as a whole and the tools.

    Thank you.

My Mac keyboard isn't a PrtSc key (The OP didn't mention this OS s / he works, it doesn't?)

I wonder why he wants a screenshot, of the document as well as tools - possibly for an operating instructions (written by a beginner), but perhaps it is to display a picture of the real problem. In this case

Create a a way that you are comfortable with screenshot. Make sure settings for example, show details and show the contours of the block are on-- these can make all the difference in the understanding of others in the way which you set things. Make sure that you zoomed in enough distance on the document in order to see the invisible characters; It is useless, if they are so small, that no one can recognize them. Do not post a full screen; crop out what either unrelated to the document (ID of your office, bar menus, scroll bars) or the problem (the full box). Make sure that the image contains enough of the surroundings of the problem to see the proper context.

Then visit the forum, write a post 'here's a screenshot"and use the camera icon in the toolbar in the edit post to search, select and insert your image.

  • Print screen does not work on my windows 7. Samsung laptop computer. Tried the fn, alt, cont + prt sc

Can't just 'print screen '. Have to go to paint, home, paste, save, name the file, select jpeg and then save again. Then go to the file and print it. On my old computer

I just clicked on print screen. Any help out there?

I'm not 100% clear what you mean - you say that you "click" print screen - where & in what program? Do you mean the print screen on your keyboard key?

Here's how the print screen button key keyboard should work...

The Print Screen key does not immediately print on the screen, as the name might make you think - it's a bit wrong to foreground. Instead, it copies the current image of the screen to your Clipboard. You can then paste this image into a program type photo editing (or similar) so that you can edit it or print it from there.

Another way of the foregoing is by pressing Alt + print screen on your keyboard - it's exactly the same as the above, but the image on the Clipboard is only the active window.

    Please see:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-GB/Windows7/take-a-screen-capture-print-your-screen

    and,

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows7/Using-Paint .

If the above does not answer your question please can you explain your problem more clearly so that we can help you.

  • How to use the Print Screen function?

I've seen various descriptions of how to use the print screen function.

It would be nice to actually tell one that works.  None have worked for me.

[Fn] and Prt SCr does not work.

CTRL and Prt SCr does not work.

CTRL, Alt, and Prt SCr does not work.

[Fn], Ctrl and Prt SCr does not work.

If anyone knows the correct method to activate the screen capture function which would be a good thing.

From the looks of things, HP has a big problem with this function.

Here's a microsoft articleon the use of the screenshot function.

    This should answer your questions.

    Thanks for taking a peek.

  • How to find the print screen prints.

I know how to do screen printing, but where can I find plans? I need to send one to a software support technician.

    Thank you!

When you press the print screen button, the screenshots are not saved anywhere, but are copied to the Clipboard.

You must go to a photo app as (even paint will do), then 'paste' (ctrl + v) the contents of the Clipboard.

You can also use a screen capture tool, like the App "Extract tool" built in Windows 7 (and maybe 8, idk)

When you press print, then open an application such as WordPad (click on start, all programs, accessories), right-click on WordPad and select Paste - you should now be able to send this capture to print in the menu wordpads.
