  If your original WD Raptor drive is in good health, have you considered cloning it to the new drive and so keeping everything as it is without the need to reinstall and backup and restore your data to the e-mail and other applications?   I would first of all check if the drive is healthy, as the procedure could transfer some potential errors from the old drive to the new.   With my LG, I used a memory card and move the photos to the card.  The device must be queued for mass storage until you will see the folders using the usb cable.  If you use a memory card, don't forget that it snaps into place.  Otherwise you will never see the folders if is not installed correctly.
