Now find VolumeC.txt in your My Documents folder. On the general tab, you can see the winning amount by deducting the size on disk size. File compression is only an option on an NTFS formatted disk partition / partition.

  Your hard drive, installed on a computer with Windows XP was preinstalled by the computer manufacturer? If this is the case, then you have a "OEM version" of Windows which is linked to the computer first it is installed on and cannot be moved or reinstalled on another computer.

  If however you have a "Commercial" of XP version that you bought in a store, then you should be able to activate by phone, be aware that move the drive from one computer to another is more often go to work and XP may have problems (device drivers and other issues). The best solution is a clean installation (after you back up your data files).

I tried to remove anything that did not come on the computer and what I just said try again, but it still does not work.  I have tried myself giving full ownership of readers, but it still does not work. He always tells me that I need permission from myself. Is any way for me to have my computer recognizes the HHD as the primary drive, and then I can move Windows and Steam my SSD? And all that would remove? (If yes let me know if I can put the drivers I have on a flash, so they are removed). Any help or advice would be great! Thanks for reading and you're time and effort!)

  Basically, you can not, you need to uninstall the programs, then custom Setup to the location/reader of your choice, even in this case a lot of files will always be located on your windows disk.

  When you install a program many entries are written to the registry, if you try to move a program, if you can, the registry entries will be incorrect then the program will stop working.

  I googled a bit and there are a lot of people that suggests how to read a serial number, I have no idea if he of right, but for example if you have a serial number: X7TO234534, then the product data would be October 2007 (X 7)
  X = 10 = October, Y = November, Z = Dec
  The first number is the month and the second digit is one year.

  So in your case, the serial number 27MJFxxxx should mean Feb 2007

  It is usually best to make a clone with an external drive. It makes no sense given the power (spinning). Seagate and WD offer similar programs, called 'DiskWizard '.

  In an older machine, I have a copy of Windows XP Pro, it is validated and worked perfectly fine, until I removed a dying hard drive of the machine, then it is suddenly telling me that the OS is not genuine. • Intel Rapid Storage Technology technology made disappear from HARD drive

  Recently my laptop stopped windows startup. When I turned it on, Intel Rapid Storage Technology 12.7.0.1936 technology window appeared and said that one of my SSD volume is off and asked me to press CTRL + I to access the Configuration utility. When I pressed on that, I could only select Reset Disks to Non-RAID option. So I chose, but windows still didn't start with a Operation System not found message.

  So I changed the following settings in the BIOS:

  • SATA Operation: AHCI (instead of Intel Smart Response Technology)
  • Technology Intel Quick Start: People with mobility reduced (and not active)
  • List start option: Legacy (instead of UEFI)

  Then I was able to start windows setup from usb. Windows repair did not help, I had The drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again. message. So I just temporary installed windows on a SSD (during the installation of my disc drive 500 GB HARD is not visible).

  I even booted ubuntu live USB, and it didn't detect my HARD disk drive.

  My HARD drive is not visible in the BIOS. It shows Fixed HDD: None .

  Plug my laptop:

  The drive does not have (the first symptoms you describe were your imminent disk failure warning) and must be replaced.
