How to remove service pack 3
I need to repair windows xp family. My drive has SP2, but I have SP3 on my computer. When I put my XP disc, it tells me that it is older than that of my computer and I have to re - install xp. I don't want to do. Is there a method of repair via my disk or xp3? (if this will allow the drive to work)

Should I delete srevice Pack1 and all its pc componits since I have service pack 3? And his watch still publishes to srevice pack 1. Thanks Jim Z.
Hi Jim.
You don't need to uninstall or remove a service pack in your Windows XP.
Each pack of serivce is stacked on the previous service pack.
Infact, you will not be able to install the latest Service Pack before the previous one.
I wish you good health.
Please check that it might be the Service Pack for your Microsoft Office, but not the Windows Service Pack to your Windows updates.

How to install service Pack 3 for XP? I get "access denied".
I tried to install service pack 3 for Windows XP for some time, but with little success. Recently I have resubscribed to McAfee Total protection, but it will not be installed as Service Pack 3 is not installed on my system.
I get the message "access denied." What should I do to work around this problem?

How to remove services that are no longer used.
Hi, I have a lot of services on my machine, 200 to be precise. Some are running, and some are in a stopped state. My machine starts at a reasonable speed, so it's not a problem. But after the start and after all the noise of caching calmed, I used up to 3.5 on 16 GB memory. I guess that a lot of this memory is consumed by unnecessary services running.
So is it possible to remove some of these services without having to reformat my HARD drive? And with them cripples my vital 3rd party software?
If you are referring to RAM and use only 3.5 GB on a total of 16 GB, you have nothing to fear. You won't win any show by mucking around with services.
What exactly do you hope to achieve?
If you really want to disable some services - not to "remove" their - go here and then go to the page corresponding to your version of Windows--> http://www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/
Before you do anything, however, read all the documents text at the top of any page reach you, including the Introduction, Notes for a computer more happy and user and the explanation of table header. Read also How to install or uninstall services in Windows 7?
The preceding two paragraphs and related material only relate to Windows services. If you have services installed by 3rd party programs, let alone unless or until you uninstall these programs.

I installed a clean copy of xp pro 3 times today. Whenever I restart, after installation of sp2, that it crashes before it happens even to the Welcome screen. Please help, I need my conputer for work... THX in advance, John
While not a real problem... have you tried to jump SP2 and just install SP3 after SP1? Your question seems to be quite common, and that is what most people seem to have ended up doing.

!! 0x0c01a001d! 9073/88609 (\Registry\Machine\COMPONENTS\DerivedData\...)How can I make it work. Can I uninstall via the command-line... no restore point prior to download SP1
Hello
Perform the following methods and check if it helps.
Method 1:
Try to do a restore of the system of the Windows Recovery console using the Vista disc. Read the following article to do the same thing:What are the system recovery options in Windows Vista?
Method 2:
You can try to access the Windows Recovery console prompt and see if you can manually remove Service Pack 1 on your computer. Here are the steps to remove Service Pack 1:
1. open a window to the Windows Recovery console command prompt.
2. run the following command, depending on the version of the Windows Vista service that you want to uninstall:
- For Windows Vista Service Pack 1: C:\temp\Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.exe x:C:\temp
Note
This command assumes that the file Windows6. 0 - KB936330.exe is located in the C:\Temp folder
3. He must create a sandbox environment before you can continue to step 4. This allows you to manage safely an untrusted program. To create a sandbox, type md, sandbox.
4. to remove the Windows Vista service pack, type or copy and paste the following command, depending on the version of the Windows Vista service that you want to uninstall:
- For Windows Vista Service Pack 1: start /w pkgmgr.exe /m:c:\temp\Windows6.0-KB936330-X86.cab /up s:sandbox
In this command, NNN is x 86, x 64, or IA-64.
If these steps successfully uninstall the service pack of Windows Vista, and this resolves the issue, you are finished.
Here is an article that will give you different methods on how to remove Service Pack 1:
