  Make a backup, preferably 2 backups on 2 separate drives.

  Quit the application.

  Go to Finder and select your user folder. With this Finder window as the windshield, select Finder/display/display options for presenting or order - J.  When the display options opens, check "show the library folder. This should make your visible user library folder in your user folder.  Select the library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist.  Move the .plist on your desktop.

  Restart your computer, open the application and test. If it works fine, delete the plist for the office.

  If the application is the same, return the .plist where you got it, crushing the latest.

  You're welcome and thank you for your kind words. The problem, Recuva is a file recovery application. They allow you to recover a file (or folder or partition) that has been deleted or damaged otherwise. Another freeware program, you can use - it's the only one on my system - is 7 - Data Recovery Suite, available here: http://download.cnet.com/7-Data-Recovery-Free/3000-2094_4-75905667.html.

  Just to be clear, this is equivalent to a backup in case your backup (if all goes well now) fails for some reason any. Part of the concern here is that the corrupted files are potentially carriers of the virus or anything would be able to re - corrupting your system.

  Frankly, if it were my system, I'd be less likely to try to repair files corrupt and much more likely to replace everything. And Yes, I have separated from my system disk backups and my data disc, baked upward on the other two disks. Readers are cheap. So if you have backups and / or can make a reinstallation is complete, it would be my first choice recommendation.

  If you can't do that for some reason, some tips for the use of data recovery software.

  • Stop any activity involving the disk or disks that you want to recover files from. The reason is simple, the computer "works" - reads and writes information in the hard drive, more lucky that some of the files to recover will finish itself be replaced.   It is not recommended to try this unless you know what you're doing. If you do not know how to remove the cover of the accessories, optical drive, and the cover of the switch then do not continue:

  Before you start: Remove the battery, cover accessories, optical drive and switch cover.

  1. Close Notepad and look backwards with the front to you.
  2. Remove the screw head Phillips P1 that secure the keyboard to the computer of 12 mm. This screw is located in the compartment of the minimap WLAN. The accessory cover must be removed to access this screw.
  3. Increase the laptop right and open the display panel entirely.
  4. Remove the P0 Phillips head screw that secures the keyboard for the top cover of 3 mm.

  6. Lift the upper part of the keyboard and slide the keyboard toward the back of the laptop.
  7. Using the minimum force, push the locking bar toward the back of the laptop to unlock the ZIF keyboard on the system board connector.

  I just make myself exactly on my Windows system doing some temporal measures between the different versions.

  This is how, in a Word, it can be done on a windows x 64:

  • Download the .zip file containing the update to Camera Raw 6.6
  • Find zip files encapsulated inside who wear the Camera Raw.8bi file content.  They are easy to spot because they are large.
  • Unzip each file (one for 32-bit) and the other for 64-bit and copy the resource file numbered inside the Camera Raw.8bi file.

  Here's what goes where:

  32 bit

  Copy: payloads\AdobeCameraRaw6.0All-011211024650\Assets2_1.zip (within the file: 1003)

  To: C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe\Plug - Ins\CS5\File formats Raw.8bi

  I created a panel of preferences and got the items I want on this issue by editing the file caviggia for my plugin. I can't understand how to access elements via ADM however. I also want to add items by ADM rather than use the resource file.

  The functions of the supplied preferences panel do not seem to do what they are supposed to.

  I tried the following:

  1 AddPreferencePanel - it's all good (I think). The dialog box in my resources is given the 16010 ID. This function returns the AIPreferencelItemGroupHandle and the AIMenuItemHandle.

  2 ShowPreferencePanel - it is called when the front returned AIMenuItemHandle is selected. Sends the AIPreferencePanelMessage message, which I catch him.

  This is where things break down:

  3 GetPreferencePanelItemRef - pass in the AIPreferencelItemGroupHandle, out of an ADMItemRef. Supposed to be an element of the ADM group that contains all the items in the Panel that we created above. Call sADMItem-> GetChildItem away she returns not all valid handles.

  4 GetPreferencePanelBaseItemIndex - pass in the AIPreferencelItemGroupHandle before, leave an integer index. Apparently all the item ID in the group that the above are offset by the int. It returns the id 16010 of the id of the dialog box.

  Then... I can't understand how to access the items in the Panel. I can't add new items in the Panel by program or another. Even at the base, I have to add registrants to certain elements in the Panel preferences, SMA, so I can actually do something with it.

  Okay sorry to resurrect this one because I'm sure that one of you has already nailed down now, but I thought I'd share my experience with this stuff.

  I just had to set up a preferences page in a plugin I've been working on and of course, when it came to reading the elements in the Panel, I found myself here. I thought I'd hit a brick wall until a few hours ago, when I made a bit of a breakthrough while I actually wrote a post on this topic, ask for help!

  Initially, I had the same problem to access the items in the Panel as btemp and found the GetPreferencePanelItemRef and GetPreferencePanelBaseItemIndex functions to be equally as useless.  But after a bit of violin and lots of swearing, I finally managed to get notifications of controls in my preference panel.

  So here's how I did it:

  Add your panel of preferences in the usual way by adding a definition of the resource by calling sAIPreference-> AddPreferencePanel

  Intercept the message menu item by using the handle you returned by AddPreferencePanel, below.

  Catch kAIPreferenceCaller - this has not handled by default in the folder plugins SDK sample, so I added it myself.

  Catch the following selectors:

  kAIPreferenceInitSelector

  kAIPreferenceOKSelector

  kAIPreferenceCancelSelector

  kAIPreferenceUpdateSelector

  kAIPreferenceInitSelector - called to your preferences panel is displayed first. -It seems that you will receive this switch if the user has used the keyboard shortcut to access the preferences pane. If the user has selected the menu directly from the Preferences menu item, you will receive the message menu item.

  On your kAIPreferenceUpdateSelctor Manager you are passed an AIPreferencePanelMessage (*).  Use this parameter to get a handle to the dialog as follows (or something like that) box:

  Set your notification procedures and to transmit any data that you might need (I'm passing "this" so I can call a member function later)

  firstRadioButtonItem.SetNotifierData (static_cast (this));
  secondRadioButtonItem.SetNotifyProc (MyPlugin::SecondRadioNotifyProc);
  secondRadioButtonItem.SetNotifierData (static_cast (this));
  }

  You find that you receive this selector twice so just keep in mind if you need to allocate memory.

  Now you should receive notifications from the controls in your preference panel.

  The kAIPreferenceOKSelector and the kAIPreferenceCancelSelector are called when the user clicks Ok or cancel (surprise!) If you have a chance to save or cancel the changes that the user made. The AIPreferencePanelMessage * sent with these selectors contains an ADMItemRef that is an element of the ADM group as btemp discovered, which is really unnecessary.

  Maybe it's not the way that Adobe intended to work, but until they sort out piss-poor documentation, it works for me.
