How to restore a remote site after an accident?

I read the site FAQ management and he mentions to restore your files, you can go to your remote site and upload to your local site.

Any that offered little help for my situation?

I had a hard drive failure, I am running windows xp, dwcs4 and the site is hosted. I reinstalled windows and dw. The site has been created according to all the tutorials and I managed to save a copy of the site folder, but not according to the instructions of the savings in the FAQ. I have root just a folder with all the pages.

Could someone point me to a tutorial or how to?

Thanks in advance

Jim

You lost me here. Not sure what you mean.

Create a new definition of site for the local and remote sites, connect you to your remote site, and then click Get. That's all you need to do.

I don't want to reload all Web pages, because they are all on the server. Any way to re-login again? I tried to use manage sites to establish connections, but it does not work.

Seems to me that you can download in the wrong place, or you can have a case mismatch in the name of the file.

Make sure you have the root directory defined correctly in your FTP credentials and that you do not have this directory appear anywhere in your local files.

For example, if the root directory of your site is "public_html" it must show in the field of root directory / Directory FTP host your site and NOT in the files of the window list. If it appeared also in your files window, you would be able to find your new pages at www.yoursite.com/public_html, which is obviously not wanted.

Another question may miss the root of the server entirely, in this case, your files would be downloading to a top directory of your site on your server and totally inaccessible to the world online.

A mismatch could take effect if you have index.html on the server, but the Index.html or INDEX. HTML on the spot. On Mac and Windows, all 3 of these file names are the same. They are not case-sensitive, but on the server, these are all 3 separate files. If this is the case of the navigation to the INDEX. HTML will give you the correct page online because it does not replace index.html.

For this reason, it is always best to use lowercase names only when you are working online.

  • How to restore partition factory settings after installing Win 7 Professional and after having lost everything as a result.

I have a netbook with a partition that has win7 starter installed.  I unfortunately poorly installed windows 7 Professional and now have nothing available which was originally on the computer.  Everything was wiped clean including my ability to use / access my wireless, ethernet controller, pci, etc..  I tried repeatedly to recover the partition back to factory settings, but it won't give me the option to select the partition.  I guess that's because they are all two Windows 7.  Can you help me get it back to windows 7 edition starter of the partition so I can restore all the factory settings and programs.  I haven't lost any information or files that I loaded win7professtional as soon as I turned it on.  I have restore points, images, etc.

When I installed Win 7 Professional, not old Info windows.old file but I don't know how to access that is.

    Help, please?  Thank you

The Windows.old folder has two objectives:
    (1) can be used to uninstall Windows 7 and return your PC to the previous version of Windows.
    (2) contains a backup of all your files of data, documents, photos, Etc. from the previous version of Windows.

If you don't need either of these two options can delete the Windows.old folder. In your case if you can access the "recovery Partition" to restore the windows and then back the Windows.old folder before you begin.

Note: Option to change Windows Explorer to see the Windows.old folder:
Click on start and enter in the box "Search": "hidden" (without the quotes)
Click on the "Show the hidden files and folders" option at the top of the list.
    In the "Folder Options" window
Click the 'view' if it is not already selected.
In the list "Advanced settings" locate "hidden files and folders".
Now click 'show files and folders '.
    Then, disable the following:
"Hide empty drives in the computer folder.
"Hide the extensions of the file types that you want to know."
    "Hide protected operating system files"

Click on the "Apply" button and the OK"" button.

  • How to access a remote site in dreamweaver

This may seem like a simple question, but I just downloaded DW as a trial and want to try before you buy. Now, I did the remote site configured and tested, and he said: it can connect to my remote site. But I now want to go on the site, connect you and make the change in the pages of the web site that are stored there. None of the stuff is stored on my PC at home. It's all on the remote site. So, how do I change it? How can I connect even? DW seems destined to work on files on your PC at home and then publish them to a remote site. My problem is all ON the remote site.

No file menu.  FILES (F8) PANEL or window > files.  Should be on the right side of your screen.

And Yes, you MUST define a Local Site folder in DW or it will not be able to manage your site, links and assets for you.

DW advise to directly edit files on remote server.  A slight screw-up could cripple your site.

Now I Steelworkers my bootable thumbdtive (who was be Yosemite) to start my el capitan backup and it crashes at the end. After the restoration, the computer stops and recharge, but then crashes to the screen with the apple logo. Someone knows the right way that I should be restore? I tried just do a plain redownliad of my bootable disk but it says it did not work and may have been corrupted. I tried deleti g and recreate my raid 0, the same message... Looks like that because raid 0 for Mac will not create a recovery partition, I do a recovery Internet now just to recharge the mac from scratch... Any ideas on how I should address?

    Hi Isakale,

I understand that you're having trouble for OS X installed and restored from your Time Machine backup. In a situation where you work with a configuration of non standard volume for your OS X installation, you can consider installing OS X of the recovery of the Internet, the upgrade to the desired version of Mac OS X via the App Store, then your Time Machine data migration using the Migration Wizard, rather than recovery.

Migration Wizard copies all your files to your new Mac so that you do not have to the do it manually. If your files are currently on a Windows PC, follow the steps in the migration of the PC instead. If your new Mac uses OS X Mountain Lion or earlier, follow the steps of Mountain Lion instead.

Move your content to a new Mac
    https://support.Apple.com/en-us/HT204350

Recent Macs include the ability to run directly from a Web OS X Recovery version. Your Mac will automatically use this feature when the recovery on the startup disk system is not available. For example, if your boot drive is a problem, or if your boot drive has been replaced or deleted. Recovery of the Internet allows you to start your Mac directly from Apple servers. This system starts running a quick test of your memory and the hard disk to check for hardware problems.

Recovery of the Internet initially asking you to select a Wi - Fi network and enter a password for the network if necessary. Then Internet recovery downloads and starts from a system recovery image. From there on, offers the same options and utilities like system recovery on a startup disk.

Some Mac shipped with OS X Snow Leopard can use Internet after installation of OS X Lion or later and a software update.

If you want to reinstall the version of Mac OS X included with your Mac, store the command-Option-R at the start instead. This starts your Mac recovery of the Internet.

I think that I n the new good t for you: restore factory settings without Toshiba recovery disc isn t possible in your case! :(

First of all I think it's normal to s no recovery disk is delivered with the laptop as you will need to create them yourself using the Toshiba recovery disc creator. That is why it s recommended using high quality as Verbatim DVD-R media.

I think that the only option to recover to factory settings is to order a new Toshiba recovery disc.

  • How to restore E-Business Suite after server Crash?

    Hi Hussein Snoussi,.

I have a question that will be useful to other members of the community. How can I restore Oracle E-Business Suite R12 after losing the server that hosts the instance ERP physically?

    I have 2 scenarios here:

1-existing cold backups of DbTier and AppsTier are available

I did a full backup of the Apps and Inst files once a week on an external drive.

I was copy the folder DB (data + DBMS_ORACLE_HOME) after stopping the database cleanly once a week on an external drive. Noting that, here the database is in NOARCHIVELOG mode.

Hot 2-existing of the database backups are available and I have a backup of the Apps and Inst files (AppsTier)

The database is archivelog here. I did a hot backup full database once a week, a daily incremental backup and a full backup of the archivelogs once a week. All this on an external drive. Inst files and applications are backed up once a week on an external drive.

Let something bad happens and we completely lose the physical server. How can I do to restore and recover my R12 Oracle E-Business Suite to a new server?

I know I have to install the same OS on the new server, but what happens after that?

    Thanks in advance,

    Clamarion.

Yes, you just need to restore files (assuming that your operating system is Linux/Unix). Once you restore the running AutoConfig files to make sure that everything works as expected. You also have to do mental health controls (check CMs, Workflow, running concurrent programs,... etc).

    Thank you

  • How to restore list of Site Management?

I have just re-installed Dreamweaver CS4 and now my list of site management disappeared.

    I work on a Mac under OS X 10.5.6

Having previously saved my entire users folder, I thought it would be simple to restore all my original settings. Not if...

    I replaced the entire folder Configuration;

How to back up and restore settings on a Macintosh computer

On Macintoshes, custom keyboards, excerpts and other configuration items are stored separately. On Macintosh OS 9.X, there is one shared by all the users Configuration folder. On Mac OS X, site definitions and custom settings and snippets are stored separately for each user.

Note: For Mac OS X, you will need to follow these steps for each user of Dreamweaver. You will need to log in under each of these users and perform the required steps, or go to the folders of the individual user account and make the necessary backups.

Back up the Configuration of Dreamweaver folder

In order to safeguard the Dreamweaver Configuration folder, as well as excerpts from created manually by the user, you copy your folder of personal Configuration in a location, you will be able to easily remember more later. Here are the locations of the personal Configuration (for Mac OS X) files and the default location of the folder of the application (for Macintosh OS 9.x) Configuration:

The Configuration of Dreamweaver folder location:
    • Macintosh OS X:
Hard drive: users: < user name >: Library: Application Support: Macromedia: Dreamweaver < version >: Configuration

But if we have a Time Machine backup of the entire hard drive, what files should be restored if no Configuration file?

On a Mac, for CS4 Dreamweaver site definitions are stored in the following location: Macintosh HD:: Library: Application Support: Adobe: Common: 10:Sites:Site Pref.

    For CS3, replace 10 with 9.

Accidentally closed down the pc and firefox did not return with option restore previous session in the first screen even in history-Restory previous session is gray. My settings are own history after closing firefox.
Y at - it no change to return on my tabs from previous session even browsing history has been cleaned? I'd appreciate your help!

In general, FireFox will behave in 1 of 3 ways when restarting after a stoppage.

    1 kill Shutdown
This occurs when the FireFox process ends with a TerminateProcess() appeal or if the process of FireFox crashes. It's a dirty, no cleaning is done. When restarting after this FireFox will show a dialog "well, this is embarrassing' with options to restore the items selected from the previous session.

    2 force Shutdown
This occurs when another process ask FireFox to shut down cleanly (for example, a reboot of the PC) by a call to ExitProcessEx() and does not ask confirmation of the user. Normally, when this type of shutdown happens, Firefox will just restore all tabs and sessions without asking. However if Firefox is set automatically delete the history on shutdown, it may not. I suspect that this is your case. I would suggest to the FF team remove that history should be ignored in this case, only a stop of the user must delete the history.

    3 judgment of the user.
That's when said user Firefox close (by selecting exit or by closing all the tabs etc...). Confirmation is requested to close all tabs (if enabled and more than 1 tab is open). When the computer reboots, nothing is restored.

Unfortunately, if you have enabled clear auto history, there is no way to recover the previous session. I'm sorry.
