How to restore my browser history?

I have a computer shared with my boyfriend. I went to search my history of browser to find a site that I forgot to bookmark. It turns out that it had deleted all my history, claiming that it removes automatically after a week. I know that this does not work & I know that it is not configured like this because I am a forgetful person. I really want to come back to my story but I don't know how to do, is it still possible?

Thank you for your comments.

Sorry, but deleted Bediet is gone and cannot be recovered.  There is no backup storage location, and they are not files as a data recovery program could potentially recover.

I wish I could help, but it cannot be resolved.

Good luck!

    Hello again :)

I found the solution for my problem and it is called Firefox Sync :) (In case that someone else is having the same problem)

Install Firefox Sync and account for firefox. In optios check only historical of the browser that you want to synchronize. Synchronize the history of an account, connect with one another and you will get all the history form a single account on your other account.

    Hi MistressCindy,

Welcome to Microsoft Community and we are happy to help you.

I understand from the description you want the navigation history to delete on shutdown.

Could you answer a few questions to understand the question:

    1. what web browser do you use?

    2. what version of Internet Explorer you are using?

I suggest trying these methods in Internet Explorer and check.

    (a) open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button, and then click Internet Explorer.

    (b) click on the Tools button, then Internet Options.

    c) under the history of navigation in general tab make sure that Remove navigation to exit history is enabled.

    (d) click on the tab to remove, put check marks in the boxes for history, downloaded and click on delete.

It will be useful. For any Windows questions do not hesitate to get back to us.

  • Where can I set Firefox 7 How should keep my browsing history? I want to keep my history for as long as possible.

I use version 7.0.1 with Windows XP.

I searched high and low on Google and elsewhere to answer this question and I can't find one. There seems not to be a setting at a Toops | Options. Is this one of the entries in: config? This it is, and I change it, will be ignored change?

There is no time limit in versions of Firefox 4 + for the history.

Firefox automatically determines the number of pages can be kept without affecting performance.

You can see the current value through the places.history.expiration.transient_max_pages pref readings only on the subject: config page.

  • How to delete browsing history?

I don't know how to delete the browsing history

    In General:

Menu > settings > privacy > clear private data

It must call a list of categories and you can check the ones you want to remove and uncheck the ones you don't have.

An exception was noted in a different thread, if you have a certain developer put Android in switched on. Somehow it prevents the deletion history. (I remember the details at the moment.)

Y at - it no change to return on my tabs from previous session even browsing history has been cleaned? I'd appreciate your help!

In general, FireFox will behave in 1 of 3 ways when restarting after a stoppage.

    1 kill Shutdown
This occurs when the FireFox process ends with a TerminateProcess() appeal or if the process of FireFox crashes. It's a dirty, no cleaning is done. When restarting after this FireFox will show a dialog "well, this is embarrassing' with options to restore the items selected from the previous session.

    2 force Shutdown
This occurs when another process ask FireFox to shut down cleanly (for example, a reboot of the PC) by a call to ExitProcessEx() and does not ask confirmation of the user. Normally, when this type of shutdown happens, Firefox will just restore all tabs and sessions without asking. However if Firefox is set automatically delete the history on shutdown, it may not. I suspect that this is your case. I would suggest to the FF team remove that history should be ignored in this case, only a stop of the user must delete the history.

    3 judgment of the user.
That's when said user Firefox close (by selecting exit or by closing all the tabs etc...). Confirmation is requested to close all tabs (if enabled and more than 1 tab is open). When the computer reboots, nothing is restored.

Unfortunately, if you have enabled clear auto history, there is no way to recover the previous session. I'm sorry.

Hi, it could be a good idea to try Firefox Safe Mode to see if the problem goes away. Firefox Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily disables hardware acceleration, restores some settings and disables add-ons (extensions and themes).

If Firefox is open, you can restart Firefox Safe mode in the Help menu:

    • Click the menu button

      click Help

then select restart with disabled modules.

If Firefox does not work, you can start Firefox in Mode safe as follows:

    • On Windows: Hold down the SHIFT key when you open the desktop Firefox or shortcut in the start menu.
    • On Mac: Hold the option key during the startup of Firefox.
    • On Linux: Exit Firefox, go to your Terminal and run firefox-safe-mode
(you may need to specify the installation path of Firefox for example/usr/lib/firefox)

When the Firefox Safe Mode window appears, select "start mode safe."

If the problem is not present in Firefox Safe Mode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, theme or hardware acceleration. Please follow the steps described in the section Troubleshooting extensions, themes and problems of hardware acceleration to resolve common Firefox problems to find the cause.

To exit safe mode of Firefox, simply close Firefox and wait a few seconds before you open Firefox for normal use again.

If this does not help, you can try this for the restoration of the bookmarks: open bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.

    Or please see-

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • How do you define your browsing history to the top so that it displays most of the sites recently visited to the oldest?

Yesterday, I think I hit the keyboard bad combo: since my browser history does not display in the correct chronological order. Now, when I pick, say for example, ads are completely out of use. I want my story to display the most recently visited to the oldest site. Tried to sort by date/time, but same ads, I realized last week are appearing for today! Date of visit, and the hours seem to be far away! How to make a fix or restore default values that I was happy with?

    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Viewing_the_browsing_history_-_Firefox

You can view browsing history in the sidebar or in the library list.
more you back in history that most items are summarized.

In the sidebar you choice of grouping and sorting are in the 'View' button next to the search. I think the default is ' by Date and location: ", I usually have mine by"last visit ".

I can't access via thunderbird while with the pw even I can access via browser after that my account has been locked how to restore access via the e-mail program?

I've been on my gmail account and looked at front and pop/imap settings
do not forget that they are enabled.
IMAP if you want to access from several places. This way, you have the original on Gmail-server and copies on your pc.
Pop however charges to the bottom of the email. perfect if its only one pc.
(I don't know the Gmail server deletes you).
