  The Soft token RSA software is not on the Windows 8 Compatibility Center. You should check with the manufacturer to see if they have information on compatibility.

  You can install in compatibility mode for Windows 7, Windows Vista or Windows XP.
  You can right click on an .exe file and choose to resolve compatibility issues.

  Or you can go to the Control Panel, click on troubleshooting icon and follow the instructions.
  Select next, run programs for previous versions of Windows.

  I'm having a hard time trying to think of why you really want to do something like that. However, all this side, the answer is no. The database has no real "knowledge" on ColdFusion and there is no way for PL/SQL to "run" anything on the ColdFusion server. Maybe if you were more specific about what you have actually tried to do instead of a generic question, someone might be able to help to find an alternative.

  1. try running it as an administrator: right-click on the icon and choose 'run as administrator '.

  2. try to set the compatibility mode for this: right click, properties. In one of these tabs, you will find the option to run it in compatibility mode, check it out and try again with different (Vista, XP) parameters....

  First of all, I guess we're using Windows Server. If this is the case, run VBAI as a service should be the same as any other application is running. There are a number of tutorials out there in that regard. This link seems to be well done, but there are numerous others out there for the creation of an application service.
