How to save a group of tabs as a bookmark?

If I can save groups of tabs as a bookmark, I would never have to worry about if Firefox is set to open the same windows the next time I open Firefox, or worry about the deletion of recent history.

How can I do?

It works if you open a group and then right click on the tab bar and select "bookmark all tabs"?

  • How do you export groups of tabs, bookmarks, and history fron a computer to another computer

I found myself replacing my computer for various reasons and need to recover all my data from my old computer to the new. However, when it came to Firefox and my groups of tabs, bookmarks and history, I have not found any real way to export them to the other computer. is it possible to record all this information and then move it to the new computer? It's exhausting to have to lose all my save information as well as all of the tabs that I have because I need them and it takes a long time to copy and paste all my address in a text and saving it like that.

in the links list, I read on registration and export and restore everything except for groups.

Of course, it would be nice if they just don't go away, but as long a they do (as with the last upgrade FF8.0) I would like to know where they are stored (so I can get time machine) and how I can export for use on other devices.

It would also be useful for FF sync to synchronize them - there is no mention of this - that's why I stayed with Xmarks for the moment - as has also lets me sync with Chrome and Safari.

    https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/restore-default-Smart-Bookmarks-folders

This should do what is necessary, BUT the change is not saved when I go out. How to save the changes?

Once Firefox treats the request, the preference will be changed again. The files reappear when you expect? If this isn't the case, it is possible that they moved in a subfolder. Unfortunately, it is difficult to find because the search box in the Library dialog box does not have Smart Bookmarks folders.

But you can search for them in a backup of the HTML format. Here's how:

    (1) export bookmarks to a file in HTML format that you save to a convenient location, such as your desktop. See: Firefox bookmarks export to a HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks

    (2) open the HTML in Firefox and you can use find (Ctrl + f) to search for the missing smart bookmarks folder. Then, you can open this location in the library and bring it back where it belongs.

    A little luck?

  • With Internet Explorer, you can save a group of tabs to Favorites; You can then reopen this group of tabs still a month or two later. How I do that quickly with Firefox

    Recently installed Firefox 10.0.2

Some menu entries in the main menu bar are hidden if you are using the mouse and only appear if you use the keyboard to open the menu (Bug 626825).

You can see the difference if you use Alt + F to open the file menu and other menus such as the Edit (Alt + E) menu and the menu bookmark (Alt + B) and compare that to what you see, if you use the mouse to open the menu after the bar of menus visible by typing Alt or by pressing F10.

    • "To bookmark all tabs" (Shift + Ctrl + D) is no longer present in the menu bookmarks unless you open the bookmarks menu via the keyboard (Alt + B).
    • "To bookmark all tabs" are available through the context menu of a tab on the tab bar.

  • Forgotten how to save websites on new tabs - help!

I have just updated my PC and forgot how I saved my favorite sites on new tabs (I don't mean the ability to "pin" a frequently used Web site). I had 3 rows of 4, or 4 rows of 5, fixed places, which appears each time I clicked on the + to a new tab. I could save it by left-clicking on a favorite site, then choosing the "add to hot sites" (or something similar) option. I want to get that back - if possible. Ran from the old PC Windows XP, a new is running Windows7, I don't know if that will make a difference.

  • How can I disable groups of tabs? It requires the same tabs to reopen at the next session

I upgraded to 6.0.1 and experimented with tab groups. Now I can not turn off. It seems to force the same tabs open with the next session. I had (and still have) the warn me when I close the multiple tabs. She replaces this option if I click on the window is closed. Just, it closes the window of firefox and will reopen all the tabs with the next session. This cancels the best feature that firefox has more chrome.

Please help me to recover my old Firefox...

Okay, it's stupid, but simple. Go to tools > Options > general. then in the options switch box to "show my windows and tabs from last time" to "show my home page". I entirely agree that tabgroups are pretty useless and the fact that there are already speaks volumes on their apparent worth questions upward around the Mozilla forums, but also the YAnswers about disabling, or its absence.

  • How to synchronize groups of tabs between computers?

Hello, maybe someone can finally find a solution to my problem...

I already use FIrefox Sync option, and I love how it works. I like how it saves my bookmarks, passwords, history, etc., and it is easily accessible from my laptop.

There is one problem that I have, that is how to synchronize groups of tabs between computers? I already know I can click "Tabs from other devices", but it will be either open them individually or you can select more than one, but in any case I see my tabs in groups. I have so many tabs and I have six groups.

I tried to use other applications like Manager Session, tab Cloud, Session box, and they all do the same thing. They are great to save your tabs, but none of them save in groups. When I try to open all the links will open in a group.

Does anyone know how to perfectly synchronize groups of tabs between computers? Thanks in advance.

Hi vegsire, creating folders in bookmarks tab also is a good approach because it is much less fragile than tab groups in the session history data.

If you clear your recent history manually then there is no problem with App Tabs and tab groups get lost and you can delete all data you want... There is only a problem when you do this automatically whenever you close Firefox. Your first screenshot shows that you only clear the output cache, so it should be OK.

    Eric

The app tabs and tab (Panorama) groups are stored in session data in the sessionstore.js file in the Firefox profile folder

You can make a backup copy of this file.

  • How to save all of the existing tabs in a folder of bookmarks?

Previous versions of Firefox allowed me to "bookmark all tabs" via a dialogue box that allowed me to create a bookmarks folder. Version 4 is no longer gives me this opportunity. In addition, if I leave Firefox with several tabs open, when I have then opened Firefox, these tabs were opened (if I left with only one tab open, reopening was to my homepage). How do I find this behavior?

    1. right-click on a tab, select "bookmark all tabs" and choose a folder name and location within the library to save.

    2. tap on: home page - that should give you an icon of 'Restore previous Session' that will bring back the last group of tabs open when you closed the browser.

  • How can I get rid of the icon "group your tabs?

I tried for the 1st time that the options 'tab groups '.
    I don't need.
Ive played around with it dragging on the tab outside the main 'window' / 'group' / what that is then put back in place. then its just 1 'group '.
not the problem, is that I'm stuck with a new icon "Your tabs to group" right after "list all tabs".
How can I remove this icon without losing my 200 + tabs... and if possible to disable this 'groups of tabs' option too.

Hi loganj, as with most other elements of the interface, you can customize/remove it. the best way to get rid of it, is right-clicked on it and remove it from the toolbar: controls, buttons, and Toolbars Customize Firefox

You can not disable the functionality of whole groups of tab in itself, but it will be active only if you use it actively. for now, the feature is expected to be removed from firefox entirely by the time firefox 45 is released anyway...

  • How can I restore my tabs and groups of tabs after a update to version 36.0?

I work with many tabs when I use Firefox. I keep classified in groups of tabs, which helps to separate the different children to work I do and interests I have. I have been using this environment for years. When I started my job today, Firefox updated to v36.0, and noted the following behaviors:

    1. There is only one group of tabs when you try to display tabs at Panorama, as opposed to a dozen groups;

    2. normally if the hidden tabs (tabs in the same group as the startup group, and not the default page) downloading of content to what the user clicks on, icon, if any, and the name of the page will show on the tab currently, the tabs display 'New tab' and no icon. It seems, however, the number of tabs that exist across all groups of tabs, but are now ghosts this default value, a group of tabs. I must add, however, I do not count the number of tabs, so I can't be exactly. When you click on it, there is just a blank page. It is so strange that Firefox knows they are there but cannot simply attach the address.

I tried to restore the following files from my backup of Windows Home Server to the folder AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ .default < gobbletygook >:

    1. in the sessionstore-backups folder, I replaced the files previous.js, recovery.bak and recovery.js (not all of the upgrade ~) with the files yesterday and the day before yesterday.

When that did nothing, I replaced

    2 sessionCheckpoints.json

I do not see any file with a recent date that seems to be the one that I have to restore. I should add that I don't see hidden files. I thought about the restoration of the whole of the batch, but didn't know how it would affect the program v36.0 and the profile on 35.0.1 files.

I have deadlines this week and must immediately restore my environment in order to make these possible. I have no address list on my Web pages to work in IE or other. Any help would be much appreciated.

On a second note, I had been wondering recently if this tab group environment is an appropriate way to maintain my work environment. Sometimes, during the opening of Panorama, I would get an error saying a script takes too much time, but if I clicked on continue, it would display the groups in a few seconds. I considered bringing it in bookmarks, but it would be tedious and more difficult to access and open several tabs. Initially, I tried tabs groups thinking it was just a matter of maintaining a table of addresses (in tabs) with a name or an ID of tab group. How that might go wrong? Well, there, so it is obviously more complicated than that, and I did not know that upgrades would affect the data of a personal nature. That I should abandon the use of tab groups?

With the help of information from the user, ptressel, in a post here on the existence of sessionstore.js when version 33 was released, I could easily get my tabs and groups of tabs as follows:

    1. close Firefox and, perhaps, wait a few seconds (30 years?) for any final closing of files;
    2. Check if you have a sessionstore.js file in your profile folder, named as I documented in my original post above.
    3. If this is not timestamped before the discovery of your problem, open the sessionstore-backups folder.
    4. Check if the recovery.js file is properly stamped and, if not, the recovery.bak.
    5. At this point, you are likely to find that none of them is before your problem occurring. If so, open your backups from this folder and go through steps 2 to 4 to find a file before your problem occurring.
    6. When you find a file, copy it to the root of your current profile folder and name it, "sessionstore.js.
    7. Open Firefox. Mine opened upwards as you wish.

It is a solution for Windows. Sorry I can't comment on other platforms, but I'd bet it's just a copy of file and change of name, it is likely even.

For Windows users, you can find you must sign out and sign in as administrator in order to access backups. You must not logoff your standard account, but do have Firefox closed as described above.

    Hope that helps.

  • How to assign several groups of home page tabs?

I was hoping to make use of the tab function, but when I restart FF my groups all disappear except my home page tabs. Is there maybe an add-on that can save and rebuild groups of tabs?

And is it just me or should FF have warned me that the creation of a group of tabs set my home page and remove my links?

Also, I wouldn't need to tab groups if the new tab screen can be configured to contain more links with small vignettes - perhaps also a possibility to Add on?

    Thank you...

Finally got a chance to try it - looks great so far. Configurable Super - lose the search bar, reduce the size of the tile while maximizing the police to name, create custom groups...

There will be no problem to get everything I need on a single screen with scrolling - just wish I could reorganize and group in a single screen.

I see no reason to set as my homepage though - there are several tabs, I always open so 'new tab' mode, that's exactly what I was looking for.

    Thanks for the help,
    CC
