  You can rebuild the Media Player library which should deal with the issue.

  Method 1: Erase the database of Media Player and look for the question.

  b. Select all files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.
  Note You don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

In the second list box your will see the users default access. Simply add your wife's name to the list. You can create a new account on it to connect to your computer or you can just give your credentials so it can connect directly to your user account.   Thank you for your message.  Windows Media Player 11 supports .avi, but compression can dictate whether he will play or not.  This is very probably a Codec issue, you can perform a websearch for a Codec that will play any avi compression.

  I use exp with a scientific Jaws screen reader from freedom. Problem is every time I play a song especially not throughout, using media player 11, my computer hangs temporarily it is impossible to change the volume, stop the song etc.  In addition, when trying to close out Player multimedia 'alt f. 4' my jaws informs me that my audio files are to be inspected by saying something like, "cancellation" inspection files. then it counts down while I sit for 3 minutes.  JAWS stops talking, and as a blind person, I have no idea of what is happening, not able to operate the computer.  How can I stop these inspections?  I like to go through my music, having to play the file a few times for 10 seconds, becomes frustrating to go through all this, makes me want to unplug the internet connection.  Fortunately, it only happens the first 3 times I try to play, it's the case whenever I turn the computer the rest of the time I stayed alone to cross, to sort and or play my songs.
