Original thread title - how to fix the microphone in Compaq Presario R3000?

    Hello
I have a laptop Compaq Presario R3000, and I tried to use Skype on it. Problem is that the other end can't hear me. I tried all the suggestions on the site of Skype to try and attach the microphone.  I tried the recorder (click programs, accessories, then entertainment to access), but when I record my voice, nothing, so I guess it has something to do with the microphone. Just to be sure - this model has an internal microphone? What I've read, it seems that it does. I downloaded the updated drivers, so I don't think that's the problem. Any suggestions? I'll try anything now, because I spent about 6 hours online trying to get the microphone to work and so far, nothing. Thank you! Patti

    Hello

    1. What problem is only on Skype?

    2. were you able to use this microphone earlier?

3 have there been any changes made on the computer before the show?

  • Tips to upgrade Compaq Presario CQ41-208AU

    Hello

I bought a Compaq Presario CQ41-208AU, I actually bought for normal household use, but some games compatible DirectX 10 does not work well in this notebook, 3D images are well filtered and I get low rates.

A particular game, I can cite is GTA IV, I play to the lowest possible resolution of 800 x 480 and again, get low frame rates. IM using Windows7 Ultimate 32 bit, on an AMD Turion II Dual - core M520, with 2 GB RAM system (1.75 GB usable) and a chipset AMD M880G with ATi Mobility Radeon HD4200. I know that the specification is very poor, so I want to update if possible. Can you suggest me if I need to chage the motherboard inorder to change the graphics card. I like the look of this laptop very much as he looks smart and I'm not thinking of changing, I'd rather spend the money to upgrade its interiors. Please help me and offer me on what material is appropriate for the DirectX 10 game at good pace.

Sorry I didn't that I posted the Original qusetion in the computers section of office.

    Reyhan

It is not just any way to improve the graphics. Even if you could buy a new motherboard with better graphics, when all is said and done it would be cheaper and way more easy to simply sell yours and buy one with the desired specifications. Even put graphics on the cards at level mothers CQ41 replacement is a Radeon 4350 I believe which is only a little better than you and the recommended full Board would require likely case mods to fit your laptop. Talk of earrings on a pig!

  • How to start my webcam internal?

    Original title: live cam
I have a laptop lenova-G550, how do I access the construction webcam

    Hello
It's a better question for Lenova since each brand/model of laptop is a little different. However, an easy way on most laptops is to open your Start menu and doing a simple search for "webcam" or "Camera". You should see the device appear in the search results, and when you double-click it, it needs to start the camera software.

I hope this helps. Just reply to the results.

Sort problem! Given that I don't seem to be getting anywhere, I resorted to the suggestion of a friend of re-Foundation original RAM sticks (pair of 512s), and... It worked! (I told you I was new to this, and that I had not worked on your desktop before...)

I must have disturbed them when I first tried installing the 1 GB module who came the other day. I never thought it possible... they are a VERY tight fit in these slots, and they need a little bit of pressure to engage the locks. but this is what must have happened.

I'm willing to believe ANYTHING can happen with these gadgets now... !

Thanks to the pair of you for your help with this... and it was more enjoyable to chat with you two. I know where to go for assistance in the future.

I was given your desktop compaq presario 5204 a couple of years. I have never tried to use it until today so I can't ask the person who gave me the password.  When I try to start it I get a screen asking the power on password. How to reset it or remove? I want to donate it to the model railroad Club, I belong to, but it is useless this way.

Disconnect the PC and open the case. Remove the RTC battery (money and the size of a dime), press the power button. Look near the battery for a jumper labelled clr cmos or something close. Remove the jumper and then put back in the same position.

    Please post your results.

I couldn't find any information on the motherboard, but it's probably like virtually every other motherboard.

  • How can I improve the performance of my compaq presario V2000, its very slow

How can I improve the performance of my compaq presario V2000, its very slow!

According to many things (specifications, you have now installed vs the programs he came originally with programs, etc.)-it may or may not work better that ever he does now.  However, in terms of nothing other than the software and others on the subject - there are some things you can do to optimize performance.

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory.  This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do some cleaning and dusting off this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 9 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

If you are comfortable with the stability of your system, you can delete the uninstall of patches which has installed Windows XP...

(Especially of interest here - #4)
    (Variant: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/utils/xp_hotfix_backup.htm )

You can run disk - integrated into Windows XP - cleanup to erase everything except your last restore point and yet more 'free '... files cleaning

    How to use disk cleanup
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310312

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

    CCleaner (free!)
    http://www.CCleaner.com/
(just disk cleanup - do not play with the part of the registry for the moment)

    JDiskReport
    http://www.jgoodies.com/freeware/JDiskReport/index.html

Those who can help you discover visually where all space is used.  Then, you can determine what to do.

After that - you want to check any physical errors and fix everything for efficient access"

While probably not 100% necessary-, it is probably a good idea at this time to ensure that you continue to get the updates you need.  This will help you ensure that your system update is ready to do it for you.

Download and run the MSRT tool manually:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx
(Ignore the details and download the tool to download and save to your desktop, run it.)

    Reset.

Download/install the latest program Windows installation (for your operating system):
    (Windows XP 32-bit: WindowsXP-KB942288-v3 - x 86 .exe )
(Download and save it to your desktop, run it.)

    Reset.

    and...

Download the latest version of Windows Update (x 86) agent here:
    http://go.Microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=91237
... and save it to the root of your C:\ drive. After you register on the root of the C:\ drive, follow these steps:

Close all Internet Explorer Windows and other applications.

    AutoScan--> RUN and type:
    %SystemDrive%\windowsupdateagent30-x86.exe /WUFORCE
    --> Click OK.

(If asked, select 'Run'). --> Click on NEXT--> select 'I agree' and click NEXT--> where he completed the installation, click "Finish"...

    Reset.

Now reset your Windows with this FixIt components update (you * NOT * use the aggressive version):
How to reset the Windows Update components?

    Reset.

Now that your system is generally free of malicious software (assuming you have an AntiVirus application), you've cleaned the "additional applications" that could be running and picking up your precious memory and the processor, you have authorized out of valuable and makes disk space as there are no problems with the drive itself and your Windows Update components are updates and should work fine - it is only only one other thing you pouvez wish to make:

Get and install the hardware device last drivers for your system hardware/system manufacturers support and/or download web site.

If you want, come back and let us know a bit more information on your system - particularly the brand / model of the system, you have - and maybe someone here can guide you to the place s x of law to this end.  This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.

  • Compaq presario cq71, sudden death, does not start

Compaq presario cq71-140ea. was fine yesterday but this morning it will not start. It turns on, displays of compaq on the screen and then does nothing. Have you tried pressing f10 to change the sequence of boot for the relocation, but it just says bios configure options at the bottom of the screen and will not actually in it. All keys have the same effect. Says on the bottom, what is it but isn't "doing". Does anyone have any ideas on how I can him get up and running?

Ruling on a BIOS corrupted, removing the CMOS (exhibit) just battery resets the default settings for the BIOS, but you do not have to remove the laptop battery as well. Did you remove the two batteries?

I still really want you to try to boot the machine with a stick of memory removed.

Here's a good video youtube, that he mentions on the battery and electric shock _ you won't electrocute yourself, the voltage inside a laptop is very low and also the battery will be removed.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=dbvmRsSh210

Remove the stick dessu first (you don't have to replace the cover on the penalty), insert the battery back in and start. If no luck, remove the lower Strip and try this one. If it does not always start upward, then I would say that the BIOS is damaged. If it starts, then you have a bad stick of RAM.

The RAM sticks are matched, you can't make them in trust, me it's a very simple thing to do.

    http://h20574.www2.HP.com/default.htm?lang=en&cc=us&hpappid=psml

Also here is a link to HP multimedia Services library and some screenshots as getting there.

When you click the link you may have to sign in again, giving the two pages of time to load, especially the other, it takes about 30 seconds.

In the video he says you only touch the memory stick to the edges, it is a good idea, but I've seen people deal with it very casually and it's always nice. However just follow the steps in the video.

I mention this once again and that's to make sure that you're statically discharged before opening the laptop.

After trying the solution of the RAM (Random Access Memory) and if it fails, you will need a 1 GB flash drive. If there is something on this subject, and then save the information we have will be formatted.

Flash player is required to save your BIOS.

I guess we'll use your computer for girls, so I need to know what operating system is on it.

    Hi @kvartsnorsk

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I know that you are looking for drivers for Windows XP, unfortunately, this laptop was not sold configured for this OS. Drivers are available for windows 7 and 8 (32 and 64 bit)

What happens if I do not see my operating system?

On the boot USB device, it is likely that your bootable usb image isn't UEFI, so you should enable legacy boot in the BIOS to allow boot off this device.

    Here are the details:

I have Windows Mail installed on my PC and you want to add an e-mail account.  The issue started when I was trying to send a document I had picked up on a website and received an error message there was a problem with POP3.  Then, I tried to set up an e-mail account and after that following instructions was puzzled because I didn't know the name of the exchange server.  I am running Windows Vista on a Compaq Presario.

I first contacted my internet framework, which is Charter Communications and they referred me to Microsoft, which, in turn, was told to contact Charter Communications, call the Compaq or come to this site.  At this point, I'm a little frustrated.

    Hello

If you are tring to add an e-mail account in Windows Mail, you get the settings from your ISP (Charter Communications), then follow the information from Microsoft on how to implement.

    You need the Charter:

    1. your username with them

    2. your password with them.

    3. incoming for them mail server.

    4. the outgoing e-mail server for them.

    Charter e-mail settings:
