How to take backup of configurations of routers/switches by a script automated

Hi friends,

Can someone suggest me a script to do the backup of the devices(routers/switches) network. As the running configuration with only once for all devices.

Thank you

Mohammad.

Two ways you can do this but it must be enabled on each device, if you do not have something like LMS/premium to seize all the configs devices centrally

Command and tftp configuration of a device on your network of archives

http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/iOS/fundamentals/command/reference/cf_book/cf_a1.html#wp1018716

or use a job of kroon, the calendar and send it to a storage device

http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/iOS-NX-OS-software/IOS-software-releases-122-mainline/46741-backup-config.html#AB

just a few options it is probably more ways as well

Edit

You can use the EEM aswell

You can back up each server by following these steps:

For VCS, see "Backup and recovery of data from VCS" section in the Cisco VCS Administrator Guide X8.5, page 340.

For MCU, see "upgrade and save the MCU" section in the Cisco Telepresence MCU series online help 4.5, page 212.

For MSDS, see back up and restore SQL Server databases you will back up the database of TMS 'tmsng' of the SQL Server itself.  It could either be hosted locally on the TMS server if you have installed TMS with the default settings, or an external user provided SQL server.

  • How to take backup of spfile file before change.

    Hello

I use oralce 10.2.0 on win 2003 server. my
Automatic shared memory management is enabled. I want to take backup of spfile using
    sql> create pfile from spfile;

My pfile file created in C:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_1\database\initneo.ora

    now I change some as
    SQL> alter system set sga_max_size=1740M scope=spfile;

    System altered.

    SQL> shutdown immediate
    Database closed.
    Database dismounted.
    ORACLE instance shut down.
    SQL> startup
ORA-00385: cannot enable Very Large Memory with new buffer cache parameters

then i try to restart my database from backup of spfile but it is useless

    Hi again!

Have you looked at what is the meaning of the ORA-00385?

It has nothing to do with CREATE PFILE FROM SPFILE or RMAN backup of spfile.

  • Automatic configuration for routers, switches Catalyst and ASA backups

I am looking for a free solution to make monthly backups of my routers (2821), Catalyst (X 3650, 3750-X) switches and ASA (5510). I'm in a Windows environment and have you not mind doing a bit of coding.

I did some research looking at other popular solutions:

-SNMP and a combination of Bash scripts, but that does not support switches Catalyst from what I've read.

-Rance, on Linux & OS X, not something common in our environment

-Tools of Tao kiwi, not free

Is there something (or if applicable, somethings) that I am missing that will do this from a Windows environment for free?

    Thanks in advance.

Kron seems to be supported on the routers only, ASA here is a good explanation on how to collect the backups regularly:

    https://supportforums.Cisco.com/docs/doc-14958

If you are looking for a centralized solution and you machine to act as a collector, rancid is really the best option (if you can allow non-windows machines).

  • How to take backup using Vista?

    Hello

I had a discussion with my friends earlier about this couple but has not met a conclusion. So, I am posting this in this forum.

If this position is suitable / needs to be displayed in any other forum, please re - routing the same. Thank you.

Here is the scenerio: I have a Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista 64 - bit Home edition preloaded. Since the day I got my laptop, there was a lot of windows updates which happened on my laptop. Now, thanks to a very slow performance of my laptop, I am planning to format my laptop and reload the image. Until everything is OK.

Now, the real question is: after I have formatted the laptop, all updates must be applied, which will be required bandwidth to get it downloaded from the website of Ms. Is it possible to make a backup of my system, that will be only contains updates which has been applied since the last frame? If Yes, how should I do? Its for my laptop, so download these updates once more will cost a lot of bandwidth.

    Thanks in advance.

SKG: Please marked as answer, if it solves your problem.

    Hello

There is no option to save only the updates installed on your computer. Windows updates will start to install it again from the beginning.

You can manually download and install the stand-alone versions of the updates from the link below:

A backup back up the entire system, or may be just a backup of the data.

Create a new profile in a Firefox installation and restore this json file, then export as HTML . You can that new profile when trash Your ' e done if you won't.

  • Backup of configuration Cisco Codec C40

    Dear all,

Can I know how to take backup of the configuration of the Cisco Codec C40, please?

And also help me with the document of the administrator?

    Thanks in advance

    Kind regards

    Syed

You can simply copy the output of the xConfiguration and paste it into the SSH client.  You may need to change the output a bit to get the correct formatting, however.  For example, the output registered since my SHH client contains a preceding * c which must be removed before that I can stick again in the SSH client:

    *c xConfiguration Video Wallpaper: Waves
When you perform a software update, codec configuration, including the keys installed option is not affected and will remain in the process. Keys options include Premium (PR), double (DD) display resolution and Multisite (MS). C40 has been end of sales since June 2015, so it is not possible to order anything for this, see eos-eol-notice-c51-733467. Procedure to upgrade the software codec is on pg 28, the same page mentioned in my previous answer. To upgrade codec software, you will need a release key when switching from one major version to another, as TC5 to TC7. You can request a release of the Cisco Licensing Portal key > obtain other Licenses > telepresence free software key, as long as the device has an active support contract. If you do not have an active support contract, you can contact TAC and get the free unlock key by referencing the Security Advisory cisco-sa-20160504-tpxml, which you can get a key to unlocking TC7.

  • How to take database backup ASM/Instance?

    Hello

I'm new with ASM. We take ASM/instance of database backup.

can we have the idea to backup ASM?

    1. what components should be saved as database/Instance ASM / ASM all files?

    Please do the needful.

    Thank you
    Nitin

    Hello Nitin,

First of all, you must understand that the RDBMS & ASM instance is different but yes, both are running on the same computer.

ASM includes essentially two things: ASM instance (1) and the storage of the DSO (2).

    (1) ASM instance
    ------------------------

That's just an instance when we do not backup but Yes if you want to keep the ASM instance configuration file then just follow these steps:

    [grid@host01 ~] $. oraenv
    ORACLE_SID = [+ ASM1]? + ASM1
The basic Oracle for ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/11.2.0/grid is/u01/app/grid

    SQL > create pfile='/home/grid/init+ASM1.ora' of spfile;

    Created file.

    (2) ASM STORAGE
    -------------------------

-Storage ASM includes essentially ASM starts, namely new set of disks.

-Whenever we do not create ASM diskgroup diskgroup contains still three things:

    (a) disc ASM
    (b) models and metadata
    (c) the ASM files (essentially datafile or all database files)

-We take backup of two things on three things in ASM diskgroup:

    (1) ASM files - with RMAN because these are files of database.
    (2) ASM diskgroup models & metadata - with the MD_BACKUP of ASMCMD command.

Now, MD_BACKUP will create a backup as your specified location file and this file will includes all models and metadata of the diskgroup. Benefits of taking diskgroup metadata are, if we lost the diskgroup, so we do not worry some details configuration command MD_RESTORE use to recreate the diskgroup with the same configuration. But remember that it does not restore the data file or any other file that was there on the diskgroup going to use RMAN to restore the missing files.

    See the example:

    ASMCMD > lsdg

State Type sector Rebal to Total_MB Free_MB Req_mir_free_MB Usable_file_MB Offline_disks Voting_files name of the block

  • iPhone 3GS port complaint, take backup

My iphone 3GS port does not work. Not able to charge my iphone. Its dead right now. How to perform backups of the Gallery?

If you can not load the phone because the port does not work, then there is nothing you can do.  Don't see how you can perform backups if the phone is dead and if the port does not work, then you can not connect to iTunes either.

You need to take it to an Apple store and see if they can fix it, but you still have a 3Gs after that for a long time, then maybe it's time to consider getting a new phone?
