So you could always be connected to the wrong server if you make a typing mistake in the URL and someone said that mistyped the URL.   Version codes sometimes differ depending on how the Unit received its last update, so you don't have to worry about different codes. Updates can be received thought the site manually or via the Web Services menu on the printer itself.

  You have the printer connected to your wireless network? If so, the version you have had likely been obtained of the printer itself.

  Is there a problem you encounter that lead you to this mission of firmware, or are you simply being proactive in any ESC?

Fortunately, there is another option, there are devices called Bluetooth adapters that fit in one of your USB ports. Newegg sells them at a reasonable pace, but you can also buy them from most electronic stores may be in your area.
