Even followed to the bottom of the web page of the my browser history HP product and hp support sent a copy. They even told me he doesn't have a sim card in the laptop, but I used to connect to t-mobile, but is unable to activate the connection.

  A client I work by bought a floor display model of a laptop Fry Electronics.  It is the machine, the car was going well until we started to deal with the updates of the system to the device. When the device has been restarted and went to the starting power on password popped up. I tried everything under the Sun by the HP site, Flash the Bios by disconnecting the cable (Windws + B + Power).

  I know there is a recovery of the Bios Backdoor Code just do not know how to get it. HP refuses to help saying, that it is not covered by the warranty.

  According to the HP site if the BIOS flash does not retrieve the device. Then, there is a possibility that there is a hardware problem on the PC.

  Just found out that I'm not supposed to put programs on it.

  I want to be able to install and run Office but also to print wireless

  Can I install programs via a memory stick as there is no CD drive.

  Also can I increase the 32 MB mem, too what is the. MEM? So that I can store a few programs on it.

  I have a 32 GB with integrated machine. Yes, I can install MS Office and using a wireless printer. You can use the external optical drive or you can use USB. I also use the SD card to store files and data. I keep this card at all times on my machine. When I need to use other SD cards, I don't go out the existing SD card, I use the USB card reader instead.

  There is not everything. The key Code is integrated into the BIOS. If you install Windows 8.1 from an OEM drive that it will activate automatic based on the BIOS.   When taking is home to cut the speakers, that the level sound so hard to hear even if low down by using an external amplifier to power the headphones

  The only round work that I found is to just insert the plug until it connects to audio while the speakers are always connected. It is not good if you want to cut the sound from the speakers

• HP Stream 13: Wifi disappeared completely, even after factory reset.

  We had a trouble that started with the laptop does not not on one day. We managed to turn it on, but now there is no wifi.

  In programs and features I see there is a driver Broadcom "installed" but there is no version and there is no file size. I deleted and tried to reinstall a new driver, but that stops at half way through and doesn't seem to work.

  In device manager there is no sign of a wifi device, it's as if it disappeared completely.

  I tried all types of factory reset, same one that completely resets all doesn't seem to work.

  I have no way to connect the laptop to the internet because there is no Ethernet cable port. So I downloaded the driver on a memory stick from another computer and it stuck in the said laptop - no joy.

  Any help would be appreciated.

  Hello and thanks for the display on the HP support forums.  If you wifi does not appear in Device Manager, that this means that the map does not work or is not connected properly.

• Signal strength and range of the latest wifi routers

  I have a big house, with my router (BT home hub) in a wiring closet in a laundry room. The House is wired for ethernet and my current Wi - Fi, a Netgear WPN802, is placed at the best discreet place in the House. It is quite visible from everywhere in the House, the signal is quite low in some places.

  If I replace it with a common Netgear router, switched to AP mode, I see a significant improvement in the strength of signal and the beach? Smartphones, tablets and streaming music boxes (Sonos) are the usual wifi customers.

  In general, with one exception, hand-off is controlled by the device. On devices where the roaming aggressiveness can be adjusted, usually of the laptops and PC with Wi - Fi cards, it is sometimes possible to do hand-off low impact, but it is often neither transparent nor without interruption. I walk often so, personally, that this is not a matter of my house with my laptop streaming.

  However, smartphones often do not have adjustable settings of roaming aggressiveness, but it is precisely the devices with which we want to transfer transparent. My old iPhone 5 was terrible to homelessness at home and at work.

  If you install a second WAP in your House, don't expect transparent transfers. But, as I said, it's usually to the device.

  I talked to an exception almost, and perhaps two. One is that there is a connection Wi - Fi standard 802.11r called which rudder hand fast shipment. I don't think that any consumer connection Wi - Fi gear to implement. Two is that Ubiquiti Networks offers an exclusive feature called discount zero where several Ubiquiti APs can work together in the hand-off a device between them. I don't know which of their products offer this feature, but my guess is that they are not cheap. The disadvantage of this feature is that all points of access must use the same channel Wi - Fi (they do all access points appear as an access point). It is not so good, if you have many Wi - Fi devices and need a lot of bandwidth. It is a compromise between speed and reliability.

  I would recommend that you try one of the higher end Netgears with external antennas. If you are happy with your current router and only need an AP, consider the EX7000. It is marketed as a wireless extension, but it is also usable as a wired access point. It'll be cheaper than the R7000. But if you want to improve your router, then the R7000 is an excellent choice. I have one and it covers almost my entire House, 2 storeys.

  Hi I have a hp flow 8. I've had since July and a few months ago I did the upgrade of windows 10 but I waited too long to downgrade to windows 8.1.

  yesterday, I thought to myself ' I don't really like 8.1 or windows 10 but I love windows 7.

  So I made a bootable to my windows 7 cd 1 and used a microphone to the usb adapter usb to install windows 7.

  I try to boot from the flash drive, but the boot menu says "no device bootable eufi ' so I started to play in the bios to enable the legacy support, but it doesn't have this option.

  can someone tell me if there is a secret menu in the bios an update I can do to activate the legacy support because I really don't like not windows 8.1 or 10 it works terrible on this tablet underpowerd.

  Hi, not the 8 Stream does not support the boot USB legacy mode.  You need to add a bootloader UEFI 32-bit to Windows 7 install media and then Windows 7 would support UEFI boot after installation.

  If you managed to get Windows 7 installed you would probably find drivers Windows 7 for 8 Stream. Others here have tried to install Windows 7 on laptops stream (that support the legacy boot mode), but had trouble finding drivers after installation.

  It would be useful that you also specify the specific model number of this laptop so we can better get the specifics of it.

  If I understand you correctly, you are almost out of space (storage) and have condensed as many files as possible to free up the drive. Is this correct?

  If so, it isn't RAM you need, this is the hard drive that is short on space. Most likely, none is upgradable on this type of system. The HP stream looks more like a tablet with a keyboard attached instead of a traditional laptop. Hard, hard drive (typeMEM ) is connected to the motherboard and not intended to be removed.  The RAM is also embedded type which is also hard wired. It is also why the flow is less expensive than a traditional laptop.

  To free space, to store all of the files, docs, pictures, etc. on one SD card through the slot. The specs don't tell how large a SD card, it will allow, but it should not be a problem with the size you choose.
