  If you can use the 4 GB chip in another notebook or can return it if it doesn't work, you can try it, but I still think that it would not work. I don't think that the laptop would boot.

  Note that you must have a certain operating system installed in order to increase the memory up to a maximum of 2 GB and you will need to remove the currently installed chip if there is a 1 GB module.
