Hello.
I am facing problems with video playback on the battery of my laptop. Videos stuttering and pixelate when running on the battery of the laptop. These videos will work perfectly when I plug the power cord on my laptop. When I manually change the power settings to high performance (on battery), the videos play fine. There is clearly a problem with Hp recommended energy saving mode. It started have occurred recently.  Any help is appreciated. I hate manually switch between the modes of the battery.

Hi all my dear users of Toshiba that I really respect because they use such great brand Toshiba. I hope you have the time to read my problem and that its length can not bother you and you can do me favor and answer me.
I am from Egypt and I recently bought the Toshiba Satellite A660 - 17M. It is really a great device and I've updated the BIOS twice on the official website of Toshiba and now I have the 2.00 BIOS os independent.

My problem now is that the fan cooling and here's what happens with me. When I adjust method in the Toshiba cooling ensures peak performance so that the temp is between 36 to 63% and the fan speed is 52 to 75% and it takes a lot of time turns off because it is not easy to reach the beach of temp which makes it either stops when I'm inactive or work.

The largest part of the problem is that when I change the method of cooling battery optimized mode everything working the fan going to 90% and rest, so never or up to this I put the laptop before in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 minutes. Then it is cool and it stops. So in the meantime either inactive or work done, it jumps again to 90%. When I turned off my laptop and wait to be completely cooled, then turn it on while in battery optimized mode the fan starts working during start-up only stops until Windows starts completely then it climbs to 90% and remaining so ever except when I force him to be cool by placing it in front of the fridge.

My friends, I think that it is not logical to always work in conditions of refrigerator and also it is illogical to have fan always 90% especially that I'm on battery optimized mode.

What is the problem in your opinion, and if someone has the same laptop can help and describe what is happening with him also. I do not remember if these events are produced before BIOS set to day or not as I they weren't in my mind before BIOS update and I don t know whether or not this happens also before the BIOS update.

From what I understand, is that the battery optimized mode fan running weaker than the maximum performance mode. Then what's happening and if you say he remains silent until this than complete Windows starts and runs then 90% to compensate for the accumulated heat, I agree with you, but shouldn't t happen to some extend then stops at the battery life optimized according to the name of the battery optimized mode.

Really I am so disappointed and now know what the problem is. Please help and don t advise me to call Toshiba. Whatever they say please send us the laptop. I m waiting for your responses and thanks a lot for the time spent reading my message.

    Hey,.

Normally if you use the battery mode optimized for the method of cooling the fan will run less maximum performance. So your laptop will work more silent, but with a higher temperature but usually you don't notice it.

So if this happened only since the update of the BIOS is you load the default settings in the BIOS after update? Go to the BIOS Setup and press F9 to load the default values. Then save & exit the BIOS Setup.

I would be also interesting to know what operating system you are using. What is the version preinstalled Windows from Toshiba or your own installation?

The fan should be cleaned from time to time using a jet of compressed air to blow the dust from the cooling fans. This can also help improve the cooling. An accurate and interesting article on cleaning the notebook, you can find here:

  • T440p windows 10 battery charge mode

    Hi all

I had a recently updated T440p to level to win10pro win7pro. Among other things, the most annoying is the battery charge mode: I put it in "custom load thresholdd", between 55% and 85%. Instead, each time you start the battery starts to load and I have to go to PowerManager8 and change the setting to custom. Then everything is going ok until the next start-up, where I have to do the same thing...

The notification on my antivirus is the second most annoying: I forticlient antivirus (the latest version, updated to work with win10 ok) running without problem, but in each boot win10 informs me that forticlient is disabled and keeps telling me the same every now and then... I've already put the Panel I want info on the antivirus, but win10 seems that does not understand this...

    Any help will be welcomed.

    Thank you, guys!

Hi x220forme and thanks for the welcome!

I found a 'strange' way of trying to solve my problem: I have read in this forum about someone else whom the battery was not charged as it should, and the notice was "try to degrade your power managememnt driver and power manager.

So I thought ' why not? ' and the last 36 hours, I installed Power Management Driver 1.67.03 and Power Manager 6.67 (with windows 10 Pro in a T440p).

Until now, looks like it works well. After many restarts, my battery is at 85% and fails to demand, as he has done with PM8. I'll wait a few more days and let the community know, in case where someone else facing the same problem.

    Thanks again!

  • Stuck at 50% after battery saver mode have changed for Linux.

    Hello

When I had installed on my X 1/2 G W7P, I turned on the battery saver mode.

Later, I decided to change the Linux operating system and has not changed this back to normal

operating on battery and Linux (Debian) seems only to charge the battery at 50%.

First of all, it is in fact a matter of strives Windows and second, is there a command

or option in the BIOS that resets the battery to full charge mode?

    TIA.

    Additional...

TLP do not work on systems with sandtbridge or newer.

Which, I believe, includes the 1/2 G X. However, another

Manager power exists that can work.

The other day, my computer laptop has become a kind of battery saving mode after I restarted, where I couldn't customize my background and toolbar, and my internet passwords and things disappeared. I can't fix it, and my computer is plugged... It has a taskbar of bright blue and I can't boot up normally with my saved settings. Thank you.

    Hello

    1. What is the brand and model of the laptop?

    2. where have you changed the settings from?

    Method 1: Run the troubleshooter

    See the following site:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-IN/windows7/Open-the-Power-troubleshooter.

Method 2: Restore the default settings in power options

    (a) click Start, Control Panel, system, and security and then Power Options

    (b) according to the plan that you want to change, click on change plan settings

    (c) select restore default settings for this plan.

I also suggest you please contact the manufacturer of the laptop computer for more help on the issue.

Hmm, you can try to reset

Turn off battery saving mode--> press and hold down the power button until the red LED is displayed, the device restarts and appearance of the logo blackberry and telephone lights--> ride on battery saving mode (with off location services), and then monitor the battery consumption again.

Can bring back you after that?

P.S.: Do not try the restart process if you are on a low battery due to some black screen issues that some users have on this forum.

  • Windows 7 audio and video stutter problem

Recently when I watch videos (be it youtube, shake, DVD or videos on my hard drive) apparently at random my audio and video will be stutter.

I have the latest video and audio drivers (that I know) and it seems to happen more predictable when I run a software intensive treatment like utorrent, it is not get recorded by the recorder of camtasia studio or bandicam (first being a screenshot while the second is a game of capture) I tried to catch in the Act to make a short video to demonstrate the problem , but he has not registered. the video seems quite well with no stutter.

Update 1: this issue is still not resolved, despite the installation of codecs and update of the adobe flash player, I always get the question every time I launch a program or open a new tab in google chrome

I had the same problem. I have exeprienced a random 1-2 dry freeze when I played games online (for example, League of Legends, Maple Story, etc.) or on my gaming laptop youtube videos. After countless trials and errors, the problem solved when I disabled the "NVIDIA device Audio (Extensible Wave) (WDM)"audio driver in Device Manager. • Some clips videos stutter in preview

I tried to reimport the video and translating into another format, I have performed wholly and deleted temporary files and it made a new. I have rebuilt the video from scratch in a new sequence created from the clip (all the clips were screencaptured using Camstudio, so they have the same exact format as the other.

But I still have recurring problems with videos, does not properly in the preview. The last time I had this problem, they made which too much. When I hit the space bar to view the video, it shows a little video, then rewinds and sometimes the same article again and again, move a little further each time. Essentially "stretch".

It is the first Pro CS 5.5.2

    Win 7 64

    No third-party codecs.

I have a lot of hard disk space and 8 GB of ram. I opened browsers that use a lot of memory, but all the other clips work so that doesn't seem like it should be a problem.

I do not use any kinds of plugins or third party things.

Some things that help: close the another memory hogging programs and restart the first.

Things that seem wrong: using the time slider to increase or decrease the speed of the video.

Greetings. When it comes to the screenshot, the clamps are usually very complicated for reading programs since they are of a very high speed, most of the time. If they are in. AVI format, it is even more complicated for the software. I recommend to convert the images to a more acceptable as MP4/H264 codec. There is a program open source called Virtual Dub, who can help to do it for you.

  • Why the video stutter in Firefox?

When I watch the video in Firefox it stutters badly. I tried to disable hardware acceleration in Adobe Flash Player. I also tried to uninstall Firefox and re - install a clean copy, but I still have this problem.

Try to disable the Protected Mode Flash 11.3 and above by adding the line ProtectedMode = 0 in the Flash "mms.cfg" file located in one of the following locations: [46]

       (Windows 32bit) C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash
       (Windows 64bit) C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash

For example, on a Windows 7 64-bit system, open the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, copy the file "mms.cfg" on the desktop, open it in Notepad, add a new line ProtectedMode=0 , then close Notepad, save your changes. Go to the C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash folder, rename the original file in "mms.cfgBAK" (to save it as a backup), then drag and drop the updated file in the "mms.cfg" from the desktop. [47] [48] [49]

Note: To re - enable the Protected-Mode Flash, either restore a backup of the original mms.cfg file, if you have saved one, either re - edit the mms.cfg file to remove the ProtectedMode=0 l line, you added. Update of Flash Player or a version more recent does not automatically re - enable Protected Mode

  • Best video card for Pavilion p6 recommendation - 2040 has for balanced performance

    Pavilion P6 - 2040a Desk top. Windows 7 pro 64-bit. 8Gig of ram. NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 Direct X 9

I would like to know the best balanced video card that will compliment the APU used in my desktop pc Pavilion P6 - 2040 has.

    It is currently equipped with a Nvidia GT 520 graphics card, clearly a very basic card as the Windows partitions are only;

Graphics card: Desktop for Windows Aero 5.3 performance

The graphics of games; Business 3D & game performance 6.5

    The other partitions are;

    7.1 PROCESSOR

    7.4 RAM

    HD 7.8

I'm also surprised that, in light of the A8-3800 AMD APU which has the graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6550 integrated that a Radeon graphics card has not been used.

Bearing in mind the constraints of the nominal power of 300 watts what would be the best video card I can use it will complete the graphic part of the AMD APU and get a higher rating of Windows and I hope to use Direct X 11

    Thank you very much

    John G

I must say that I'm quite disappointed with this PC.

Unmatcheted RAM 4 and 2 gig from different suppliers.

I found myself buying little ram Corsair.

Memory locations only 2 and thus limited to 8 GB of ram

And now a pathetic videocard poorly matched to the APU and piddly 300 Watt power supply.

Never another product from HP... NEVER

This will be the most expensive way to buy a PC

Shame on you, HP and the glib and slick sales guy.

This machine is on eBay in recent weeks with no interest whatsoever, I'm not surprised and really angry at myself for having been cheated in this thing. Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

  • HP Power Assistant causing audio/video Stutter - laptop Elitebook 8560p, Windows 7 x 64

    Hello

I recently noticed periodic audio and video on my new laptop I wanted me to rid of stuttering. I did not notice the stuttering when I bought the computer a few months ago, and if my memories are good it seemed initially after some recent automatic HP updated a few weeks ago.

The stuttering happens about every 30 seconds and occurs for any playback video or audio source (cd, youtube, itunes, etc.), with only about 5% CPU and about 30% of physical memory use average. I followed the stuttering to coincide with a small wave 3-4% CPU of a WmiPrvSE.exe process. This process runs and the rise of the CPU occurs regardless of program initiation or reading after start-up, I just noticed cause stuttering during playback audio and video. After further investigation, when I kill the HP Power Assistant, the CPU and stop stuttering video, although the same WmiPrvSE.exe process remains (since I assume it's used by a lot of things?). I stopped the HP Power Start Wizard at startup (using msconfig), which solved the problem without having to stop every time I turn on the computer myself.

Now, I'm content to let this be my system, but the HP Power Assistant is an interesting tool to track the energy consumption, performance, etc. and I think that it should not cause stuttering audio and video, especially with such a small CPU surge. Also has anyone seen this problem? Is this a problem with the HP Power Assistant or could there be something more vast I only put a patch on?

    Thanks for any input.
