HP-15ab233nl T9Q32EA: replacement of HD with an SSD.

I just got this laptop, all right () but the system is really slow, so I intend to change the HD with a SSD drive

Is it possible? And if so, how?

The disk hard inheritance can be replaced by a SATA SSD.

The hard drive is not a client that auto repair point, so be aware that if you damage anything when Exchange try, you will void the warranty.

You accept all risks associated with the upgrade of your laptop.

You will need a set of screwdrivers of jewelers and a tray to put the tiny in screws.

The following video is an example of how it's done.

Hi, I am a new consumer of HP and I would like to replace the HARD original with an SSD drive. The question is:

If I do that, then I lost the warranty? (In English)

Salvo, sono a nuovo consumatore di prodotti HP e sapere I wanted is sostituendo Hard disk capacity guarantee del PC original, grazie. (Italian)

    Hello:

Unfortunately, there is no redress related to the support page and the driver of your laptop, so I have no idea whether or not you can do the job yoursel without voiding the warranty.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/HP-15-R200-notebook-PC-series/7486447/model/7835232/manuals

I suppose the easy way to say would be that if your laptop is a service door Bay on the bottom of the PC, you should be able to replace the disk hard if you see after removing the cover of the service Bay.

If it's a solid background and without visible access panels, so it would be a model where access the disk cannot be done by an authorized service center.

There is a manual related to the series 15-r000.  It is the series of model closer to you to your model.

According to the manual, it seems you need to take about the portable unit departed and arrived at practice.

  • 27 "mid 2011 iMac drive solid state drive is dead and must be replaced. Is this easier to do than to to replace a HDD with a SSD? I hope I can do it myself.

My 27 "mid 2011 iMac drive solid state drive is dead and must be replaced. The SSD originally came with the computer and not a subsequent update. I understand that a SSD replacing a HARD drive is quite complex, but would be more simple replacement of a dead with a new SSD SSD? I hope I could make myself.

Even as the replacement of a HARD drive. However, go to OWC buy the connector of the special drive that has the necessary temperature control that is not part of the SSD, because it is for the stock of HARD drive.

  • Portege R930: replace card mSata with SSD

    Hello

I wanted to replace the 128 GB hard drive in my laptop. I bought a 256 GB SSD and read the User Guide.
I don't see anything about the replacement of disc inside.
When I open the PC, I discovered that there was an mSata card.
Is it possible to replace a card with an SSD mSata?
There is a small connector but I don't know I'll have to buy a new one (what kind of connector?).
More important still there no information in the Guide of the user on this whole process.
    Is there someone doing this?

    Kind regards.

I think you need to get the drive replaced by a 2.5 cable cable ".
If the player is not in good physical shape, you may need to get the other parts replaced as well.

This may be a better idea to return the SSD and buy an mSATA SSD instead.

  • Guide: replace the HDD with SSD, Lenovo Y480

    Lenovo
That's how I replaced my HDD with a SSD in my Lenovo Y480. I did it immediately, so there is no user file to consider. I used a key from Lenovo recovery. Read this guide in its entirety before starting.

    Execution time: about an hour.

    Items, you will need:

    -Y480 Lenovo

-New SSD (I chose a Mushkin Chronos Deluxe because my research lead me to conclude that it is the best available from June 2012)

    -Small Phillips screwdriver

-Butter knife or similar to remove the HARD drive. There is not much space for your fingers in there.

    -DVD-r blank

    Step 1

    Turn on the computer.

    Step 2

Write the number '1' on a blank DVD-R and insert into the optical drive.

    Step 3

Press the small button just to the right of the power button. This launches a recovery key.

    Step 4

Follow the instructions on the screen to make restore disks. I chose the factory restore option, which required three DVD - Rs. label each disc with numbers to let you know in what order to use them later. Once it is finished, place back #1 DVD into the optical drive.

    Step 5

Physically remove the hard drive and insert the SSD drive by following the instructions below.

    1. turn off and unplug your computer, flip upside down.
    2. remove the battery.
    3. remove the access panel by removing the two screws and slide.
    4. remove the two screws that hold the hard drive carrier.
5 remove the hard drive by lifting upward. There is a right angle SATA adapter plugged into the hard drive. This card just came out with the hard drive.
6 disconnect the hard drive adapter and plug it on the SSD.
7 unscrew the hard drive bracket and screw it on the SSD.
8 put the SSD drive in the Bay, screw the support down and replace the access panel. Be sure to screw it up.
    9. replace the battery, lock.

    Step 6

If you did not already the first recovery DVD in the optical drive, use a paper clip to open the optical drive and insert the diskette. Close the drawer, then turn on the computer to start the restoration.

    Step 7

Select the boot drive by pressing F12 when you see the Lenovo logo during startup, and then select the optical/DVD drive in the list.

    Step 8

Follow the instructions on the screen. The first time that I did, restoration impossible immediately, probably because of a missing partition. However, after restarting the computer by performing a battery pull, then continue to step 6 restore completed successfully.

I have not compared this drive, but I can tell you that the Windows experience index is 7.9 and startup time is 24 seconds now. The base index is 6.8 for this system now.

You will find that Windows has already helped TRIM. However, regular defragmentattion was still on. I think that the system restore has been disabled automatically.

    Good luck

    Matt

I saw no option for this, and I was quite surprised, that he didn't do it automatically. I'm not an expert on everything, so what follows is a guess.

Perhaps that if you create a partition on the SSD first, recovery will recognize and use it.

OWC is a good place to go for the upgrade of your Macbook Pro.

    Of OWC SSD: OWC SSD

I upgraded my Early 2011 13 inch Macbook Pro using a SSD Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB and I've seen a dramatic speed increase.

Once you decide on a SSD, I suggest that you install it in an external enclosure from OWC enclosure or with a USB to SATA adapter SATA USB adapter and connect to your MBP via USB.

Open disk utility > delete and format the SSD for Mac OS extended (journaled) and a GUID partition.

Then, use a third party application like Carbon Copy Cloner Carbon Copy Cloner (not free, but worth the price) or Super Duper to copy all data from the HARD drive internal as well as the recovery partition.

The clone will be an exact copy of your hard drive and it will be bootable.

Start the MBP with the OPTION key (Startup Manager) key and select the new SSD. How to choose a disk to boot your Mac.

If it starts the MBP, proceed to the physical interchange of disks.

Now that you have your open computer you can also upgrade the memory. It is very easy.

  • Is it possible to replace the hard drive with an SSD? or would it be too expensive?

Is it possible to replace the hard drive with an SSD?

or would it be too expensive?

Yes.  There are several alternatives.  I found a way relatively inexpensive, using a map of mSATA (very small SSD) and an adapter to connect it to the connector IDE 44 pin internal of my PowerBook.  It works very well.  Rather than repeat what I posted previously, you can watch these two topics (which also has good info, other users)

A lot of users on these forums recommend OWC (www.macsales.com) Mercury Elite Pro series JEP due to their durability, affordability and quality of construction. I have about 6 of them connected to my iMac and have never had a speaker to fail. When a hard drive fails, substitute is a 5-minute process to re - use the box. To help you get started, you can find the line to: https://eshop.macsales.com/shop/firewire/1394/USB/EliteAL/eSATA_FW800_FW400_USB

  • Replace old hard drive with an SSD.  Nowsome keys on the keyboard no longer works.  Ex 'e' and 'b' keys no longer work?  Any idea what could take place in the disc replacement?

Replace old hard drive with an SSD.  Now some of the keys on the keyboard stopped working.  Ex 'e' and 'b' keys no longer work?  Any idea what could take place in the disc replacement?

Probably nothing, it's probably a fluke. Try resetting the SMC and the PRAM by iMac Intel SCM and reset the PRAM. If this does not work, try a USB keyboard to test, if it works then your original keyboard has failed and must be replaced.
