  I recently bought a Satellite Pro A200 (serial PSAE7E) with WIndows Vista and try to install Windows XP next.
  After hours of hunting for drivers (with moderate success) and try to install a XP in a privileged way (3rd partition main, 2nd is for Vista), I stopped.

  I am not able to get to work a function keys (keys, light, monitor, CPU frequency and wireless) XP. Under Vista, these keys only works when Toshiba Flash Cards application is running - when I turn this app, these keys are also unavailable (why?).

  I browsed a forum and found a few threads also wrote about this topics, update BIOS to version XP
  But I do not found answers to my questions:

  long discussion, short answer:

  1. no it not there no software (no software officially released and taken in charge) that is available for XP on a Sat A200.

  2. your system will operate normally, only the behavior of the function keys on bios level will change. If you Flash the bios with the XP version that the function keys should be available under XP without any software.

  3 Yes, it s definitely possible to reflash the BIOS since many clients have machines with XP and want to use Vista (I never understand but hey..)

  Well that does not explain why your f2/f3 keys do not work as you have only the Microsoft base driver installed - if the Intel driver has already been installed Ok, this may indicate a hardware problem.

  What happens if you try to install the Intel HD 5500 driver directly from Intel - it's the 2nd file in the list on the following link.

  If it installs Ok, reboot the laptop and let Windows fully load for a few minutes before checking it in.

  I had Satellite L850 bite of windows 8 64 (pskg8a-07f001) running for only 2 months.
  Only within this week, the special function key does not work do not, whenever I start the pc, I have to go into toshiba assist office then the function key, and then click ok, it will work.

  But the touchpad has been defined as licence also under keyboard setting was defined as special function mode. But don't know why every time you start the pc must go in the function key box, and then click ok.

  When I bought everything is ok, I can use the special function key to turn, up and down the volume and disable wireless... etc.

  You can use the traditional keys FN + F mode or just a F key mode.
  This can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS or the HWSetup

  In BIOS go to Advanced-> system-> the function mode button configuration
  This mode can be changed
  Also remember that the function button is activated too

  I hope that someone will be able to help you a bit.
  If you want to discover the latest version of the BIOS, just enter the BIOS settings and check it out.
  BIOS version latest won't help you at all, so my opinion is that you shouldn't change anything.

  The feature keys F is supported by special tool Windows and it only works on Windows.

  I'm new to the forum so please excuse my lack of computer skills.

  Where my problems began, is that I deleted the driver of my computer keyboard.
  I reinstalled and now works with the exception of the function keys.

  I tried to install Hotkeys out of the Toshiba web site without success. It will not be loaded on the computer for me.
  I also reinstalled "utilities" and in doing so the touch pad mouse has stopped working.

  Is someone able to offer, for me, what should I do to fix this?

  I never heard of a keyboard driver deleting, but if some of your buttons work so I think the software is very good. It may be a loose keyboard connector is loose, which is located under your keyboard around the buttons 'Fred '.

But, since this forum seems to be a little more active, I thought I would try it here as well. Who knows, maybe some people with a Satellite S have experienced the same thing!

  I looked for an answer on google and this forum for days, but were not able to find something useful (especially in combination with 'windows 10', I have no idea if install had no effect in the present).

  I installed Windows 10 last week, and I don't know if it's the 'problem' at the start, but since yesterday I've been aware of the fact that the 'modus special function"F - keys (i.e. the function in which you don'thave to store the function key to access the special functions under the (former) F keys) no longer works.

  I have already tried:
  -My system restarts
  -Control Panel > keyboard > function key modus (but which has been defined correctly!).
  -Tried any combination of Fn with any other possible key.

  So I don't know what the problem is. It might have something to do with the $ 10 Windows?

  Toshiba Satellite S50 - B - 14 M
  Pre-installed with Windows 8.1, upgraded to Windows 10 Home last Tuesday

  I tried to manually reinstall, remove all what about Apple and relocation, etc., but nothing seems to help.

  Actually I was not able to remove the support of Bootcamp, because there was no option at this point.

  Sorry, but you haven't explained do you have this problem now, using laptop or other external keyboard.

  If the problem persists with the help of an external one I think that you can not use combinations of keys FN + FX of Toshiba. Each external keyboard is specific and in my opinion, you should see s operating manuals and check also all additional functions. I'm also sure that you are able to set up some special keys on your own.

  The problem with the WLAN mixer is very strange. Try to delete the specific Microsoft software and check if the feature is as before.

  I just bought my Satellite C870-12F and I noticed the only work of function keys (F1, F2 etc) when you use the Fn key, I was wondering if I can 'swap' them, while I have to press Fn first and then to increase brightness, for example.

  I'm used to having the keys of F or primary, without an extra key to activate.

  As far as I know, you cannot change anything.
  Keys Flash cards (Fx) can be used in combination with the FN key only.
