HP 2000: Problem connecting Wifi with HP 2000

I have a laptop HP 2000 used recently. I was able to connect to my WiFi at home, but drop it and saying 'Limited connection' or 'no. Internet Connection. I have the latest drivers for my network cards.  Could it be caused by a faulty Wifi card? Could I get a replacement for the wifi card?

Hello @cost63,

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to draw your attention to the HP Forums Guide first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post about the WiFi problem and wanted to help you!  I understand that you can replace the WLAN Module.

For starters, can you provide me with the product number of the laptop?  Here is a link that you can use that will help you find your model and product number:
HP - products customer support

It is possible that the WLAN Module may be faulty.  If this is the case, according to the model of your laptop, the WLAN Module should be replaceable.  But first, we'll see if the problem is software partner.  Try to review these steps, proposed by members of the community

@Great-Christine-Tree:

First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet access

A second option is to try the following steps:
Powercycle the network:
1. turn off your laptop.
2. unplug the power to your router.
3. disconnect the power to your modem.
4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.

Turn off the power to the adapter:
1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
2. expand the network adapters.
3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
6. click on OK.
7 test cycle.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
3. in the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes, and then press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.

Reinstall the NIC drivers:
1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.
3. expand network adapters.
4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
6. restart your PC and test.

Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.

Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. You can change the operating system with the drop-down list in the upper right of the document.

  • Problem connecting wireless with my Tecra A8

    Hello

I have problem connecting WiFi with my laptop Tecra A8. When I opened my laptop, it does not connect to the wireless network.
I tried several ways to solve this problem.
I updated for active connections, then I click on the Connect button after you select my wireless LAN, but it doesn't connect.
Or I restart my computer, but it doesn't connect.
However, it connects to the network wireless in anytime after about 15 minutes.

Also when I tried to connect to the network wireless at home, but I couldn't t connect. I removed the password for the connection. Then I connected without any problem.

According to the statement, all looks like that you try to use a password for encryption wrong!

Hello, today I tried to connect to my friends wifi with my laptop, including wireless I use it for a month now and its impossible! Down right it shows only 2 blue screens without the World Cup, and he said "unidentified network"! Go to: Control Panel, Manager of Devic, adapters to extend your network, click with the right button on your wireless network and click on uninstall.

Do not put a check in the box: remove the software driver for this device.

Restart your computer and Windows will install your wireless network.

If the problem persists, see if your computer manufacturer has an updated driver.

    Hello:

The list of parts for your laptop indicates that he came with a Broadcom wireless card.

Go to Device Manager and click to expand the category of device of the network adapters.

    You see two NICs listed?

Be the nvidia ethernet card, and the other should be the Broadcom wireless network card.

My Director ex-chorale of the Church and his wife (was his computer) moved to Minnesota and gave me this Compaq Tower and the monitor speakers.  She cleaned me all of hers off the coast.  Well, she didn't.  She switched to the network connection and modem.  I'm low on memory.  Help support & the beginning, Compaq support and connections says "unable to connect to the server."  I have fast Internet with Comcast cable.  His modem is Gegere or something and the network connection is RealTek 97 Fast family and mine is Arris (modem).  Specifications of the computer:

    XP Edition family c. 2002 SP3

Compaq Presario Intel inside Celeron (R)

    CPU 2.53 GHz

    248 MB of RAM

CD player works but the DVD player does not open.  Connection is so slow that it takes 5-10 minutes to open anything.  IE8 gets constantly "stops responding."  Just like Firefox.  When you try to close a window or stop start, end the program box comes back and comes back again and again.

Went to start-help & support-Compaq help and did some tests.  For Audio, etc. get: "Exception in DisplayRunMap.runmap.

Only had this computer for 2 weeks and did nothing to save.  Can reinstall Norton Security Suite for Comcast and my Microsoft Professional 2007 from a cd.  Thought to do the system recovery.  This OS came with Compaq and recovery CD system recovery option and there is F - 10 System Recovery on initialize toward the top.  Are they the same?  I first have to install Windows XP on a bunch of CD?  Can't make a DVD if the drive does not open.  The button is loose and nothing happens.

I am 63 and security social disability so can not afford a new computer, or to hire a technician.  Help, please!

When you request support, please provide the number full name or product model of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq made thousands of computer models. Without this information, it can be difficult, even impossible to help you solve your problem.

The above requested information on the side, back, or bottom of your computer. , Please do not include your serial number.

The 'F10' and Compaq system recovery of Windows XP system recovery are the same thing. You don't need to create "HP recovery discs" before making a recovery, but you may need these disks at a later date. If a set of disks has already been created, you will not be able to create a second series and you may need to buy a game from a third-party vendor.  With the complete model number name and/or product will allow us to direct you to a place to buy these records, if necessary.

  • Problem connecting Bluetooth with Windows Mobile Device Center

    Hello

I have and HTC Snap with WM 6.1 I want to connect to my Satellite P500 running Windows 7 to be able to move the files by using Windows Mobile Device Center.

I know that this device can talk to this laptop via bluetooth, because there are some utilities bluetooth Toshiba that I can use to get a connection.

However, even if the Toshiba utility recognizes my bluetooth device, but WMDC is not. WMDC recognises my device when it is connected with a USB cable.

I don't know about the drvupdate-amd64 download which I think is necessary with WMDC but when I run what it looks like all it does is try to install a device driver for a device that is 'unknown '. I get a message at the end that driver could not be installed.

I have run out of ideas on how to get these things to work. Someone at - it a similar experience?

Could this be a problem of COM port? My Bluetooth device to 40 com affected Toshiba stack I don't see a COM 40 in the WMDC, just a port identified as "Bluetooth" settings
